hello friends, today m going to teach you mandarin collar with placket, loops and buttons and how to insert piping in sleeves
the measurement is like this
neck width 5.5 inch
so its half is 2.75 inch, we take a bit less than this i.e when we cut neck width we take 2.5 inch
front neck is half inch extra i.e 3 inch
length of front cut 9 inch
this is my kurti which i cut according to my measurement, now i'll teach you drafting of neck portion
neck width is 5.5 inch, its half is 2.75 inch, place it properly and mark a bit less than 2.75 inch i.e 2.5 inch
and in length mark at 3 inch
make a box and do curving for front neck
and now cut the curve
now open this kameez from center like this and from neck portion mark front cut length and cut it from middle
front cut is 9 inch, measure and mark it and cut it from the center
now from bottom fabric we cut 2 inch wide strips
if you have long strip that's fine or make joints to make a long strip
after cutting and joining to make a strip, i'll proceed further
after making strip, we'll also make loops and then cut it near about 2.5 inch, i've made 4 loops and i'll insert 4 buttons in it
first of all, mark 1 inch from top at neck portion and here we insert one button
and from bottom we mark 1 inch, and here we insert another button
and inbetween these two buttons we have to insert 2 more buttons, so mark at equal distance and then insert loops here
i'll mark at equal distance
for stitching loops, first place loops on these marks like this and simply sew it straight
after inserting loops, we take strip and fold it like this taking right side outwards
and place this on loops and simply sew it straight and then fold it take it to other side too
now fold this placket like this, this one comes like this and other one like this
at bottom, we mark a small cut and from back side sew it in V shape
first we do V shape stitching at bottom of front cut and then do the sewing of placket like this
after stitching loops side, now place placket of other side taking fabric a bit inside and then sew it on right side
after stitching, this is how our plackets will look like and here we insert buttons
now we join shoulders of front and back piece and then make mandarin collar which i've already taught you
after making mandarin collar, now we insert buttons in this and mark fitting line and then fold our bottom width
after that, i'll teach you how to attach piping in sleeves, my sleeves are open from middle like this
in center of sleeves i'll teach you how to insert piping
after completing fitting stitching and inserting buttons now we come to sleeves
for this take 1 inch wide ribbon strip matching with bottom/shalwar
and then take half sleeve and fold strip like this, place it taking fold side to inner side and sew it straight
mind a bit gap and then simply sew it straight
after attaching strip on the right side, now take other half sleeve piece and place it matching right to right
and sew it on the previous stitching line matching the fabric properly
do the same for both sleeves
after inserting piping like this, now we fold sleeves up to our required length and then attach it with kurti
