I'm here at Vitamix Headquarters with Chef Adam.
I'm so excited.
We have a new product to look at.
Woohoo!
Are you ready? Let's do it.

So, we have our 3500 machine, which is our highest end model for us.
And what's sort of new and sort of fancy about it is we are going digital.
We had our 780 product which I think you did a review on.
So this is taking sort of that research and all that and put it together.
So we found out that people really love the dial, still.
And, they like the convenience of touchscreen.
So we've sort of combined all that together so that you have the machine that fits you.
Whatever you want.
Digital or manual.
You can do it all.
So some of the other differences that we're going to work with when we do our frozen dessert.
We have those ratios going with it.
For this container here which is sort of what we call the 64 low-profile and
we have a cup and a half of liquid to a pound and a half of frozen.
So, when we go into the machine, some of the new features on this is this click and lock
Let me stop you.
What is this machine?
The 3500.
The A3500.
We gotta say it really slow and into the camera.
This is the A3500 preview.
The first time I've seen it.
Are they all "A"?
Yeah, I think they're all "A".
I think they're all "A's".
Ascent Series.
They're called the Ascent.
Oh, should we just say the Ascent?
(Producer:) Yeah, you can do the Ascent Series A3500.
The Ascent Series A3500.
That's a mouthful.
I'm just calling it the A35.
[laughter]
Sounds like a highway.
It is.
Just drive on through.
Okay, so it's the Ascent Series A3500.
A3500.
And it's sort of a hybrid of what the 780 was with the touchscreen and sort of the traditional
with the knobs and the dial.
-Knobs. -Dials.
-Knobs. Dials.
-Switches.
Switches. Dials.
Okay.
Before we make the frozen dessert, can we, tell me more.
Off camera we were telling me that you really like this machine.
Tell me why you like it.
I'm excited.
It's awesome.
So, I always go top to bottom.
So the lid plug has the vents we always had.
We have the measuring cups.
Little measure rings on it.
So you got 1 tablespoon.
One ounce.
And it clicks in really well.
So you get that firmer click in here so that you get sturdy.
Clicks.
This is sort of that satisfaction.
Go ahead, put it on.
Okay, this is the first time I've ever....
You're used to the rubber, right?
Now put that one on so it's...
[click]
-Click. -Oh!
-There it is. -It's clicky.
-It's closed. -It's nice.
You know it's closed now.
You're not worried, oh did I not put it on properly or anything like that?
I'm going to have to get used to it.
But I'm... it's sounding like you really like it.
Oh, that is.
But there's still a rubber edge.
Yeah, there's still the seal.
So you're still sealing it.
You're not going to get any leaks or anything like that.
No leaks.
But that click makes you know it's closed.
It's kind of reassuring.
But still gentle with the seal.
[beep, shutter click]
It's that Pavlov dog.
Sound and things like that.
You feel it go "click."
Yeah.
The pour spout.
So you're used to this pour spout, but we added this to here.
So in some of our research and things like that, this little bit right here will help
you pour easier.
So that you can get a nice funnel out of the tip.
And then the same great blades that we've always had.
Stainless steel.
Things like that.
When you get into the machine, it does everything that we've always done.
But now we've got the digital where you can just, sorta, see.
And then it counts down, it counts up, it just depends on what you're doing.
So if you're in a manual, and you just want to blend, you can press the, and it it will
count up.
So you can see your times.
You can see what you're doing.
You can see everything.
Up, down.
And we have 19 speeds on this.
So you have a little half, full, half.
So you can get really good control out of this now.
Very cool .
The dial is just sort of fun.
Go ahead.
With nothing in it, it's a little scary!
[blending]
Ahh...
So really smooth.
Really, I guess it's control.
Sort of like a BMW, when you're shifting gears, smooth in-between each other.
So then you have the programs.
You have your smoothie, your frozen dessert, your hot soup, your cleaning cycle again,
and your, sort of, dips and sauces type program.
So those are all pre-programmed in.
-The same five. -Yep.
That you're used to.
And when you look at it, you'll see the program come up, and then it will count down then.
And so you can watch the program go.
So it's sort of teaching you how the programs go.
Oh, okay, cool.
And then finally, the best feature of this.
When I take this machine off, the container off, you cannot blend at all.
Ahh...
So this is Smart Technology.
So as this container goes on, it will allow you to blend.
And it will allow you to know it's the 64-ounce container.
So what does that mean?
It means when we do later videos, we'll show you other containers.
Oh, so it knows what's on it.
-It's smart. -Yes.
Got it.
So these programs are all programmed for this 64-ounce container.
Okay, this is exciting.
So that's a preview to the next video.
There's going to be different containers doing different things.
I like it.
And so, I get, people ask about the container, if it should be locked in.
They get it and they say, "oh, well should it be locked in?"
well no, I doesn't need to
No it does not.
Because you want this little "give" because of the power.
Ah, right.
So as the power hits it, if it was locked in,
the torque can be too much and can break things easily.
So by allowing it to just move a little bit, it helps to prevent damage to some of parts.
A little added safety. -Yeah.
Okay, so this is Brushed Stainless, right?
Brushed Stainless again.
The pad is a little bit different.
It's a little bit sleeker.
It's sort of elongated and thinner.
So it's not a boxy and clunky as the older models might be.
If you want to look at the back for your open kitchen...
Yeah.
Nice finish in the back.
So you still have the Vitamix and everything.
Where as before you might of had that countertop and put it out there.
This allows you to keep it out, and it looks pretty at all angles.
And so, this is the standard container that comes with it, and it's similar to what was
the Next Generation models which uses the low-profile 64, so these are most likely gonna
fit under the cabinets like the older ones.
Yeah, all under the cabinets.
Same thing again and again.
I think it's really nice looking.
I mean, these are genuine first reactions.
I've only seen the container up until now.
This is nice, this grip, or the dial.
It's just, it's...
Like any evolution of design, it takes a little getting used to.
But I think it's really nice.
And I think that's what's good about us right now.
We're in this evolution stage.
So as we look at this model, engineers and everybody have thought,
what can we do with this platform?
And so this Ascent Series Platform is our platform.
And we're going to work with this, and we going to keep evolving, and the engineering
is there to keep evolving with your machine.
So it isn't like you're going to have to get a new machine, or you're going to have to,
like...
The evolutions will come through your machine.
I like that.
Wow.
This is every exciting.
Should we see what it can do?
Yeah!
So performance, same high-end performance that you're used to.
So again, we'll be able to do frozen desserts, do hot soups, things like that.
And so it's just that same quality that you're used to, that same durability that you're
used to, sort of in that sleeker look, and some of those features and benefits that just
amp up the usability and amp up how user-friendly it is.
This guy can...this guy can talk.

What it seems to me Fis that on the inside...

-Click. -Oh, click!
The click is so nice.
On the inside, it seems really similar to what was these Next Generation models,
except for a little bit of the Smart Technology and the programmings.
But I think what's on the outside is what's different and some of the problems that it
solves with the, sort of, the pouring, and the lid, and...
So, I guess what I'm trying to say is it seems like there's more features
without any sacrifice, right? -Right.
-Oh, there's no sacrifice. -Yeah.
This is just amped up now.
Well, sometimes you get, I am gonna, this is a tangent, but sometimes you get products
that look nicer on the outside, but they're paired back on the inside where you wouldn't
be able to tell, and this doesn't seem like the case at all.
-No.
The motor is still that same high-end. -Right.
This has a ten-year warranty.
Ten years?!
[laughter]
That was fake. I knew that.
You heard that.
I learned that fifteen minutes ago, but that's so cool.
So we've added the digital, we've added the features and benefits on it, but now we still
take in heart how good of a machine it is, and so we've amped the warranty up.
So we're at 10 now.
If they were going to last ten years anyway, fifteen years, twenty years, might as well
just guarantee them for ten.
-Yeah.
-I mean, what's the difference? -Yeah.
Our customer care has always been great.
I know you joke with them every once in a while.
I call them up every month, yeah.
[laughter]
I just call when I need a distraction.
I just call and bug them and tell them I stuck my hand in the blender.
[laughter]
Okay, so we're going to see this machine do the same thing that you always had.
We're pulling down the vortex, you're still seeing the vortex, you're going to still see
four mounds.
[beep, shutter click]
All that fun stuff, and you're going to get that frozen dessert.
So click on that.
If you notice, I click twice, it lit up.
So you know it's ready to go then.

So we're going to push everything down, kind of, into the middle.

Getting those nice four mounds there.
Four mounds.
I don't know if I'm going to have to put this on my head or not.
Oh, we will.
Here we go.

But delicious.
So it pulled in.
It, it sounds quieter, too.
Did you notice?
It didn't really...
Wait, you were running it there?
Yeah. -No, really! It did seem...
It's powerful, so it does seem quieter.
We haven't really done any studies on it, but it's quieter in the open air.
It really does seem like it is quieter.
It's the same power.
Oh, upside down.

Wow.
So it does seem quieter to me from the other ones.
So that's the nice feature of it.
It, sort of, is that unexpected, we're hoping that we can get quieter in the future, but
with just the way it's built, it, sort of, taken a little bit of the sound and a little
bit of the vibrations out of it.
I am impressed.
And I am excited.
Yeah, that's our first one.
So we got our frozen dessert.
Things that you're used to with the Vitamix.
Over and over again.
But in a new model.
The Ascent Series.
I am very excited.
