Waching daily Feb 4 2017

Right now, I'm hiking Henderson Waves.

It's a serpentine trail that's part of

the Southern Ridges network

I'm doing the Forest Walk section

of the Southern Ridges Trail.

It's a series of intertwining metal bridges

that lead through the jungle.

This is a really fascinating trail.

There are times when you feel isolated

in the dense, green forest and then parts

of the trail will open up and remind you

that you're actually just outside the city.

What's your favorite city trail?

LS2 FF323 Arrow R Review (ENG SUB) - Duration: 7:24.

Hello and welcome back to USG Motorsport video! Today is time for our gear review on the LS2 FF323 Arrow R helmet.

Manufactured in 2015, this helmet is quite the reputable one.

This is the brand of helmet used by Yonny Hernandez in MotoGP...

...and Isaac Vinales in Moto2.

The shell is made of composite fiber and the helmet's total weight is 1390 grams.

It's a very light helmet.

As for the front vents, there are 3.

2 on the upper part of the shell and 1 on the chin area.

On the back of the helmet, we can see the exhausts. 2 on the upper part of the shell and 2 on the lower.

The visor that comes stock with it is a flat visor which is also Pinlock-ready.

It's also got tear-off posts which means you can put on your Pinlock lens and tear-off straight away.

The straps come with the double-d rings and that makes this helmet a race-bred one.

Now, to take the visor off. As you open up the visor, you can see this springloaded lever with a directional arrow engraved on it.

You just pull the lever, and if you look closely, you will see how the visor is aligned to the pin that holds it in place.

Align them to the correct position, pull the lever, and off it goes.

Do the same to the other one. Simple.

To put it back on, use the same method. Align the visor to the pin, pull the lever...

...give the visor a bit of pressure, and you will hear that satisfying click which means the visor is securely locked in place.

Piece of cake.

Now, even though LS2 is a brand well-known in MotoGP, this helmet doesn't come with DOT or Snell standards.

How come?

Actually...

...the helmet comes with a different standard, which is the ECE R22-05.

So, what is ECE R22-05?

ECE R22-05 is an equivalent of DOT or Snell. The standardisation is characterised by a certain shape of helmet called curb-shaped.

It means that this lower part of the helmet, close to the neck, is shaped to better fit the wearer's jawline.

Let me show you.

There you go. Curb-shaped. You can see the lower line of the helmet: it creates that curve from front to back, making the back of the helmet shorter .

Why is it shaped that way?

It's to ease the wearer as they take the tucked-in position...

...minimising interference between the lower back of the helmet and the wearer's neck or the collar of their apparel.

This is what makes this helmet suitable for racing purposes. It's gonna be very comfortable...

...because its curb shape helps a lot in alleviating neck pain that might occur in tucked-in position.

There will be very minimal contact between the helmet and that collar. You can rest easy.

Oh, and it's light. Very light.

1390 grams...

Also, in every purchase of this LS2 helmet, you will get this anti-fog Pinlock lens...

...as I said before, its visor is Pinlock-ready.

Plus, you will also get this very-nicely-coloured helmet bag. Very interesting.

And lastly, you will also get...

Ah, here you go...

This is very important because without this little baby, the helmet will certainly get damaged inside the box.

The price of this helmet ranges from Rp 2.500.000,- to Rp 3.000.000,-.
