Hi there!
Welcome to another video tutorial and today I'm gonna show you how to create sea anemones.
Yes, this is marine animals, but they are so similar to the flowers,
so I really love the idea to treat them as unusual underwater flowers,
which can be used in children's or marine cakes, as well as jewelry decorations.
And in creation process we'll need the following tools and materials:
we need any stucco material. I will use polymer clay.
Also I will use scissors, blade and tweezers.
Certainly we'll need ball tools, dots tool, rubber shaper and a taper cones modeling tool.
And then you'll also need wire of these sizes and a satin ribbon of color that you want.
You'll need tools for a wire.
The base of a hairband, the ball-pins and earrings puset setting.
I have here a red for coloring.
Some seashells and pearl beads.
Glossy varnish for some parts of the decoration.
And super-glue or a gun glue.
And if you are ready, let's get started!
First I'll show you how to make anemones.
So here is an example of yellow anemone creating technique.
Others are created in the same way.
A piece of yellow translucent material I'm rolling into flagellum and cutting off equal pieces
it will be "petals" of anemones.
Each piece I roll down into a ball, and then in a highly elongated drop.
"Flower" consist of the inflorescences by 6 petals, so I'm combining pieces like this.
Prepare such "inflorescences" as many as you need for your own anemones.
If you are working with sugarpaste, then you may skip the next step,
but if it's polymer clay, then leave yellow billet for a while and prepare shells.
I hook the wire of 0.4 mm with a piece of white translucent clay and fix it at the base of seashell.
By the same principle, I prepare seashells of others forms: for hairband and earring.
After baking the translucent clay will be invisible in seashells.
And I fix a bead-pearl on 0.2 mm wire onto shells base as an additional decor.
I'm pre-baking all prepared shells.
And after seashells get cold I attach them to the anemone leg in such a way.
First I'm making red clay barrel.
The legs color depends on the type and breed of the anemone, and here you are free to choose the colors that you like.
I choose the yellow-red and red-bordeaux anemones.
This barrel I'm cutting in half and fix the shells wire between two parts.
Then I cover wire with second half, lightly pressing and smoothing the seam with rubber shaper or dots tool.
Then I set the yellow anemone petals.
After I make a groove in the center with big ball tool.
I'm moving apart petals a little bit, so they don't stick together.
And then I put some red material in the center to form the top of the anemone's body.
I create the top relief in this way.
You can also specify the relief to the body of the anemone.
And I make a light bend to the petals tips to create such a natural anemone look for best result.
In the center I put red tone to create shading effect.
And now you can install your anemone on the cake!
But if you're making jewelry, then let's continue.
I fix the anemone on the wire of 0.4mm. I'm bending the wire into a some kind of hairpin and stuck it in the base of the anemone.
Smooth the contact place with a rubber shaper or dots tool.
And then I put the anemones I made together in a position which they will be on a hairband and correct petals, lightly binding some of them.
I send these anemones to full baking.
After cooling, I cover anemones body with glossy varnish, because the most species of anemones have a glossy body and matte tentacles.
Another decoration are two bunches of pearls.
At first I fix every pearl onto the wire of 0.2 mm ...
(Now the important thing I recommend you do is make wire tails longer. Don't make it short!)
... and then twist the beads with each other in a bunch form.
As I said before, don't forget to leave a long wire tail, which we'll fix on the hairband.
And now let's prepare hairband.
First, wrap it with a satin ribbon. So we hide the metal base and prevent wire slipping. Decoration on ribbon is more stable.
You may use any color you want.
I take the color which is closest to the color of my hair, so attention will be focused only on the decoration.
And then, one by one turns, we hide all the metal base under the satin ribbon.
So once you have done, fix the end of ribbon with super-glue or glue gun drop.
Or both for more reliability.
This is actually how my decoration will be.
I arrange all the elements in conceived composition ...
... and attach the decoration to the hairband, wrapping the anemones wires tightly around the hairband.
I screw all the elements in this way.
As you can see, I've already tie a long shell, but it is moving for now.
It's ok. Now it's important to tie the seashell, and later I will set it in stationary position.
Now putting a drop of glue near the decoration,
I fix on it satin ribbon and start wrapping the glue contact place first and after I'm wrapping the wire section, hiding the wires under the ribbon.
Work slowly, carefully threading the ribbon between the elements, using a tweezers if necessary.
Fix the ribbon in final by using super glue or a glue gun.
I fix long shell with a glue gun also.
And the hairband is ready - no wires, everything is pretty neat.
The earring making is extremely simple.
We take the seashell with a ball-pin (which we did at the beginning), put the pearl bead on the pin and form the loop at the end with round-nose pliers.
Then hook the bead'n'shell on a pusety earring ...
... and so there you go - marine jewelry set is ready.
You may put it on, wear and dream about the sea!
