Waching daily Jun 6 2018

Sharing the spotlight is easier said than done, and sometimes a star's shine is significantly

dimmed by their significant other.

From shady sabotage to alleged affairs, these celebs were all held back by their spouses.

Mariah Carey

Pop superstar Mariah Carey's first marriage to record executive Tommy Mottola sounded,

well, less than ideal.

According to the New York Post, Mottola isolated Mimi inside their mansion.

An insider explained,

"Carey had two bodyguards assigned to her at all times, even when she went to the bathroom.

She called the house 'Sing Sing' — a morbid reference to her caged-bird status."

"I wasn't really allowed out of the house."

Mottola allegedly tried to control her even after their split in 1997.

Record exec Irv Gotti told XXL magazine that Mottola attempted to sabotage Carey's 2001

Glitter soundtrack, ripping off some of Carey's musical arrangements to use for Jennifer Lopez's

album J.Lo, which would be released before Glitter.

Apparently, Mariah had already been extremely worried about her music getting out.

An insider added,

"When Jennifer Lopez's record came out, and had the exact same song, we knew [Mariah]

had a right to be paranoid.

We couldn't believe it."

For his part, Mottola denied everything.

After they divorced, Carey's career soared with Butterfly.

Shania Twain

A lot happened to Shania Twain in the whopping 15 years she went without releasing an album.

Between the releases of 2002's Up! and 2017's Now, Twain went through a brutal divorce after

her husband Mutt Lange, who was also her producer and creative partner, allegedly cheated on

her with her best friend and assistant in 2008.

E! News reported that Twain had an album originally slated for a June 2009 release that kept getting

delayed, partly as a result of the drama.

Thankfully, Twain recovered on all fronts.

She ended up remarrying, and dropped Now in September 2017.

Jennifer Garner

While Ben Affleck was winning awards for Argo and becoming Batman, actress Jennifer Garner

was essentially a housewife for nearly a decade.

She explained to W magazine in 2010,

"I have this internal battle between, 'I need to work, I need to work, I need to work' and

'I need to be home with my kids.'

And the kids win."

In March 2015, while the pair was quietly separated, she told Us Weekly,

"Ben is super busy and I'm super happy for him.

I chose to stay home this year and just said, 'Go for it babe.

Do it all.

Do 'Gone Girl,' do 'Batman,' do 'The Accountant.'

Do everything.'"

With their marriage now behind her, things seem to be looking up for Garner.

She's slated to go back to her action star roots in the film Peppermint, a revenge thriller

for which she's already getting back into fighting shape.

Steph Curry

In June 2016, Ayesha Curry, the wife of Golden State Warriors point guard Steph Curry, accused

the NBA of being "rigged" in a since-deleted tweet.

According to the New York Post, Ayesha later apologized, but an industry insider claimed

that her tirade damaged Steph's reputation just as much as her own.

For weeks, Ayesha's social media blew up with attacks from angry fans.

The insider added,

"She is paying the price for it.

[...] She really harmed her and her husband's brand in the short term.

She needs to be careful to not make that mistake again."

"I'm in love with my husband, so I was protective.

It's hard to portray your personality in 140 characters."

Olivia Munn and Aaron Rodgers

Actress Olivia Munn and NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers were never officially married.

And that's probably a good thing, as they seemingly blamed one another for their career

woes after they broke up.

Munn told Collider that she took a role in the all-female Ocean's Eight because, quote,

"During that time, I was in a relationship where I didn't work.

He played football, so during the season, for three years [...] I wouldn't work.

[...] But then, this came up.

It worked out that it was on a day off, so I flew out and did it."

Rodgers, meanwhile, seemed to suggest that his team's lackluster performances could be

blamed, at least in part, on his personal life.

He told ESPN,

"When you are living out a relationship in the public eye, it's definitely… it's difficult.

It has some extra constraints, because you have other opinions about your relationship,

how it affects your work and, you know, just some inappropriate connections."

Megan Fox

Transformers actress Megan Fox reportedly wanted to move past the generic "hot chick"

roles and snag some meatier parts in Hollywood, but husband Brian Austin Green may have had

other plans.

A source told People that Green wanted Fox to settle down into domestic life and quit

acting to focus full-time on motherhood, saying,

"Brian wants more of her time than she can allow.

She was overwhelmed with the children and her husband's expectations, which got in the

way of work responsibilities."

The couple split briefly, but after Fox became pregnant with their third son, they reunited.

And it looks like Fox may have found a good balance between her work and home life, with

several projects reportedly in the works.

Waterfall Chasing Up The Caerfanell River #3 (Talybont #5) Video - Duration: 7:25.

Both: Hello people of the internet!

Ian: And welcome to yet another episode of something vloggy!

Ian: We are out exploring today can you tell from this sound what it is that we might be exploring?

Jo: Is it waterfalls?

Ian: It is waterfalls Wow! Jo: Oooh, it's waterfalls!

Ian: Yes, it's waterfalls.

Ian: Yet again we are up above Talybont reservoir, ...

... where there are just too many waterfalls to make one single film out of.

Ian: Anyway, we are are back looking at more waterfalls ...

... and of course that is what you want to see, ...

... so we'll shut up and go and look at some waterfalls for you.

Ian: We might take you with us.

Ian: Where will we convene?

Jo: Somewhere in the middle.

Ian: That's where we'll convene.

Jo: See you then.

Ian: There we go, bye to Joey.

Ian: Waterfalls are fantastic to go and look at, ...

... but in order to go and look at them you kind of have to do go and find them.

Ian: You can be standing right next to one and not be able to see it, which is a bit of a pain.

Ian: Unless you're prepared ...

... to go and do this.

Ian: Now I'm currently now walking along the bottom of the river, ...

... which is a little bit slippery in places, but that's okay.

Ian: Because I've gotten a good walking boots on.

Ian: to all intents and purposes this is our first waterfall of the day!

Ian: This is your typical plunging lots and lots of waterfalls.

Ian: A little shoot if you will ...

... that comes down into quite a nice deep plunge pool at the bottom.

Ian: If you're looking for the sound of a waterfall, ...

... if you're looking for that deep rumble that a waterfall can make, ...

... that is what you need in order to make that sound.

Ian: You need the water to plunge deeply into something in order to make it, ...

... otherwise you get a much higher pitched splash.

Jo: It's all getting a bit narrow along here, look.

Ian: The river doesn't just get fed from way up there in the mountains, ...

... it also gets fed from the banks at the side of these valleys.

Ian: This is a prime example and I love little things like this.

Ian: I drive Jo mad because I'll stop at the side of roads and go "ooh look, a little waterfall".

Ian: I think they're especially pretty if it's sort of the miniature nature of the things.

Ian: A very beautiful little waterfall in miniature.

Ian: Waterfall after waterfall after waterfall!

Ian: They just keep coming, it's errr...

... well, there's a lot of them up on this walk.

Ian: Which is kind of handy, but also kind of slows you down if you're looking at all the waterfalls.

Ian: And I'm going to keep heading on up the hill.

Ian: Not only do you tend to get a nice deep pool below the waterfall, ...

... but sometimes as in the case of this waterfall here, ...

... you get the pool below and then behind me you get another pool.

Ian: And this one's quite deep, it's quite tranquil looking.

Ian: I would imagine there's quite a bit of a draw when you get down to this end towards the fall,

Ian: But, for the rest of it, you could quite happily go for a dip in there.

Ian: Up there you can see Joey taking some video of yet another beautiful stretch of river.

Jo: As we're looking for waterfalls we decided there wasn't much point sticking to the path...

... so we're walking along the river, ...

...and it's proved fortuitous because again, every five steps, there has been a waterfall or a cascade.

Jo: And it's absolutely stunning but we're getting nowhere fast.

Jo: I can see this turning into a series of very nice waterfally films.

Jo: Wasn't that a lovely walk?

Ian: It was a lovely walk, and we're going to stop here, ...

... and why are we going to stop here Joey?

Jo: Because we've done too many waterfalls

Ian: We would love to hear from you, please tell us what you think of our daft films of us walking up a river.

Jo: And failing to get to the end.

Ian: And failing to get to the end.

Ian: One day we're going to get to the end of this river.

Ian: We're on Caerfanell by the way, this this river is called Caerfanell, ...

... and we are heading up towards quite, apparently, a dramatic waterfall at the end.

Ian: We don't know we're just taking people's word for it.

Jo: Next time we're gonna start here and then carry on.

Jo: So we're getting further every time, we're making progress! yes and the reason

Ian: Yes, and the reason we stopped here is because there is a fence across the river ...

... and a style that we have to cross which is you know quite interesting.

Ian: We're gonna pass the tree line and head on up into the mountains.

Ian: Which will be lovely.

Jo: Yeah, I'm looking forward to it.

Ian: That will be coming at you next week. it's a bit like a custard pie to the face!

Ian: But in this case it's a film of waterfalls.

Jo: A gentle custard pie to the face!

Ian: A gentle custard pie to the face!

Ian: We'll be seeing you on Friday for the Friday show ...

... and please don't forget to hit the subscribe button if you hadn't already, and click the little bell

Both: to give it some ears

Jo: (laughs) I'm going.

Ian: TTFN

David Guerra's video for Wednesday June 6, 2018 - Duration: 2:48.

part three part three of efficiency in the workplace part three of you know

nothing this one goes out to the old-timers yeah the old-timers see even

the old-timers are not are not always up to well they're not always up to speed

up to date with what they're doing with what's going on see some some of them

will just rest on their laurels and that's not a good way of doing business

you have got to be innovating you have got to be changing and especially those

old timers because if you're not up ahead of it ahead of the curve ahead of

the knowledge base of head of what's coming and down the line for your

organization your field your craft you're going to get left behind and yes

it is that simple you will get left behind so it's your job to stay ahead of

it so continue remembering even though you might be there 20-30 years you still

know nothing because there's always new things coming down the line and the

sooner you accept that the better you're gonna be see dedicate the time and

resources to get yourself up to date and leaders give them the time in the

resources especially those old-timers they know better but they also need the

time to do it so don't just say oh well you need to learn how to do this well

give them the time and the resources and the tools to do it see there will be

resistance there will be resistance especially from the Alzheimer's they'll

say well I don't need to know that I've been doing it for thirty years why do I

have to learn how to do my accounting why do I have to learn how to do this

this new equipment it's the same as the old equipment it's just a different

cover things change times change so as a leader as leaders you must work with

them to understand the change is coming and change is here to stay and change is

going to happen again and guarantee it just ask them to think about the last

time there was change and the time before that and the time before that

folks I there was I was with an organization for many years and it was

think it got to the point like clockwork Oh give him 19 months he'll be gone give

him 19 months and sure enough almost to the date 19 months and people were gone

because that's just how it took them to simulate to figure out what was going on

and then they were out of there and unfortunately well it's still going on

so leaders Alzheimer's work together you're not out of the woods so keep

innovating keep learning and remember even though you might have been with the

organization 15 20 30 years you still know nothing I know nothing and I've

been around what about you
