Hi everybody. My name's Sasha, also known as beasty p
That's my nickname. I'm 26, from Minsk.
I came to hip-hop music more recently, around 4 years ago
Before that I was more into hard-core genre
Before that I was more into hard-core genre
Basically, they intersect somewhere, especially in lyrics.
I came to this thanks to my friend, who wrote rap and needed beats
He brought me usb-driver with FL Studio 9 inside
And I tried to make beats and it worked out good
But already that time I was aware of hip-hop. Well, of cause, that's begin from classic
Refer directly to the last question about hard-core music.
There is such a band as Hoods. They have a song "Pit Beast"
I racked my brains about picking a nickname, so it would sound cool
And this song came on. And I thought that I've started to associate myself with this nickname
Eventually I did change it a little and Beasty P appeared
There is no exact meaning
but anyway there is a history behind that
As already mentioned, I wrote in FL Studio. Since then it is already 12 version.
Also I tried I tried the AKAI MPC Mini. But I figured out it is not a full-functional station, more like an additional
Last year I purchased Roland SP-404sx, I saw it from my colleagues and I liked its sound and functionality.
That is why my process of making a beat looks like FL studio in addition to Roland.
Many people influenced me in beatmaking, both foreign and domestic
If we are speaking the names, which is pretty hard, the classics would be DJ Premier
Apollo Brown, Madlib, and J Dilla. Of the local people - it is Onemoment, Awlnight, Maxgreat, Micbeatz, and Hello to Kharkov to Milky Fella
In the beginning, I used and cut samples from the internet. Because it was more of a hobby back then. I didn't take as serious until recently
And now, when I'm fully involved into this culture, into knowing what is going on in beatmakimg world, I found my own way.
First of all, I digitize from records, vinyl
This is one of the reasons that the album «Ne posledniy raz» came into the world. The album has created from samples of Soviet performers.
There are many vinyl records in the post-Soviet with such music.
Therefore, it looks like an introductory beatmaking.
Now I digitize records directly in Roland, from Roland to FL Studio, where chop samples.
Basically, this is the same technology every time, but in the end, it turns out something like the experiment
After all, I load tracks in Roland, put effects and make mastering. Naturally, this will be Lo-fi.
The last releases, which I liked: «Luxury life» by Milky Fella, «Landspeed» by Ded Tebiase and instrumental from Apollo Brown & Planet Asia track «Anchovies»
Last spring I played in «Velo Café». This prompted me to understand that I like to play this music, people like it and it motivates me.
Cooperation with the label «NINETOFIVE Records» also motivates me.
These guys noticed me and invited me. I hope we make friends with them. It is another moment that I would like to single out.
In the near future will be released my debut mini-album. Its name is «No, Never».
Will be released on «NINETOFIVE Records».
Then few collaborations are planned, including one with ambient artist.
I planned a mini-album with my signature style with a remix of the classic hip-hop.
After that, we will see what coming next. You never know, you never know. I planned a mini-album with my signature style with a remix of the classic hip-hop.

… three, four, let me drink...
It was Beasty P, special for Smart Beats. Peace.
Listen fairy tales and believe in them
