Exploring the new LinkedIn video features. Hi my name is Krishna De - www.Krishna.me
I'm going to share with you today a quick overview of the new video features for LinkedIn.
This is available on your mobile app. I'm on my iPhone as I share this.
So I'm firstly going to go into the LinkedIn app. From there, right at the top,
you'll see there is an opportunity to share an image from your camera or in fact you
can share your video, and that's what I'm going to do now. And what you'll see then
is the opportunity to start recording your video. So let's say you start recording
your video and I share a little bit of information here about how to actually
use live video for your communication - so I'm just sharing my website. I'm going to
stop the video now, and then from there you'll see two features right at the top.
It says "add a different filter" - so I can now view the filters. And it has
for example "work hi-5", "side hustle" or "on the air". If I click "on the air" I can
resize that and position it wherever I wish to do so. So I'm just going to leave
it here. These filters you have to add after you've done your video content creation.
This is not live video it's recorded video. So that's the first area.
So on the smiley face there's a few filters you can add. The next area on the
right hand side is text. If I click on text I can then start to create some copy.
I actually want to just paste in something that I already have prepared.
"Exploring the new LinkedIn video features" so I'm going to change that copy
because that's a little bit long for one line. If I just change it to
"New LinkedIn video features". And so once I've done that if I click on it again you can
see right at the top it gives me left justify,
center and right justify. So I can just go left justify, centre it or right justify.
So that gives me different options there so let's leave it at the left.
And then you'll see there are different text formats. So the one I've got at the
moment is the little blue line with the details then underneath it. I can
then change it here with a format like a cube or I can change it where there's no background.
Because my video background is quite light, I'm actually going to just
leave it like this in terms with the blue features and then once I'm finished
I can reposition that content and so I put it on the bottom left. And that's all
I need to do so what I need to do now is just click on the button there on the right
and that then starts to post that content for me. So I can listen back and
can play back that video and see how that works and then I can put my LinkedIn message text in here
and then I can decide if I want to post it. I can make a decision about
whether I want to tag people in that content and I can also make a decision
about who I want to be able to see it. I hope that helps in terms of if you're
