Waching daily Mar 20 2018

CAMBRIDGE ANALYTICA WAS AFFIRMED THAT DONALD TRUMP USED

DURING THE 2016 ELECTION, THEY BRAGGED ABOUT HOW THEY COULD DO

PSYCHOGRAPHIC INFORMATION ON PEOPLE ON SOCIAL MEDIA,

ESPECIALLY FACEBOOK, AND TURN OUT VOTERS. AND THERE'S GOOD

REASON TO BELIEVE THAT THEY DIDN'T DO THAT AND IT WAS AT

LEAST SOMEWHAT SUCCESSFUL, OBVIOUSLY DONALD TRUMP WON AND

HE SPENT A FRACTION OF THE MONEY HILLARY CLINTON DID ON MEDIA BUT

HE SPENT IT LARGELY ON FACEBOOK AND DIGITAL MEDIA WHICH TURNED

OUT TO BE A MORE SAVVY MOVE. IT TURNS OUT THERE IS A A PROBLEM

WITH THAT, IT LOOKS LIKE CAMBRIDGE ANALYTICA DIDN'T

ACQUIRE THAT INFORMATION LEGALLY. OH BOY. THE NEW YORK

TIMES HAS A HUGE STORY ON THIS, FIRST THEY EXPLAIN THE

BACKGROUND --

>>NOW, AT THE TIME THEY DID THAT THEY ACTUALLY DIDN'T HAVE THOSE

TOOLS. THEY HAD TO GET THEM, AND IN A HURRY, AND THEY WOUND UP

SECURING THEM. BUT AGAIN, NOT IN A WAY THAT APPARENTLY IS LEGAL.

SO LET'S GIVE YOU MORE BACKGROUND --

>>SO IT'S ONE THING IF YOU GOT LEGAL ACCESS TO FACEBOOK AND USE

THAT IN THE CAMPAIGNS, THAT'S PERFECTLY ACCEPTABLE, AND FACT I

THINK IT'S PRETTY SMART. BUT WHEN YOU ILLEGALLY GET THE

INFORMATION OF 50 MILLION USERS THEN WE HAVE A MASSIVE PROBLEM.

LET'S TALK ABOUT THEIR CEO, A GUY NAMED NIX --

>>NOW, WYLIE IS THE GUY WHO IS NOW GIVING INFORMATION ABOUT

THIS, HE LEFT IN EARLY 2015 BUT HE SAID THEY WERE ALREADY

TALKING TO PEOPLE LIKE CORY LEWANDOWSKI ABOUT RUNNING A

CAMPAIGN FOR THE TRUMP TEAM EVEN BEFORE HE ANNOUNCED HIS

CANDIDACY, AND THEY WERE LOOKING TO SHIFT THE CULTURE THROUGH

THIS PROPAGANDA CAMPAIGN AS EARLY AS THEN. AND WYLIE WAS ONE

OF THE FOUNDERS, HE HAD WORKED ON OBAMA'S CAMPAIGN AND

EVENTUALLY GREW DISGUSTED WITH HOW CAMBRIDGE ANALYTICA WAS

USING THE INFORMATION, AND LATER OF COURSE THEY ACQUIRED IT IN

ILLEGAL WAYS, THAT'S A DIFFERENT PROBLEM AND A HUGE PROBLEM FOR

THEM PRESENTLY. I WANT TO SHOW YOU ROBERT AND REBEKAH MERCER,

THEY ARE THE ONES WHO GAVE MONEY TO TED CRUZ'S CAMPAIGN,

INITIALLY THIS INFORMATION WAS SUPPOSED TO HELP HIM BUT NOTHING

COULD HELP TED CRUZ, THEN LATER THEY SWITCHED TO DONALD TRUMP.

LATER WHEN BREITBART GOT IN TROUBLE FOR ASKING NEO-NAZIS

WHAT THE ALT-RIGHT AGENDA SHOULD BE AND THEN PUBLISHING IT,

ROBERT MERCER PRETENDED TO STEP AWAY FROM BREITBART AND STEVE

BANNON AND SAID MY HANDS ARE CLEAN. SO WHO DID YOU GIVE YOUR

INTERESTS TO? HE GAVE IT TO HIS DAUGHTER, SO SHE NOW OWNS THAT

INTEREST, AND BREITBART STILL OWNS CAMBRIDGE ANALYTICA, IT'S A

LITTLE MORE COMP LOCATED BECAUSE THEY SET UP SHELL CORPORATIONS

BECAUSE OF ANOTHER ILLEGALITY WHICH I WILL TELL YOU ABOUT IN A

SECOND, AND LET ME SHOW YOU ANOTHER PICTURE, THERE IS THAT

SAME REBEKAH MERCER WITH STEVE BANNON AND KELLYANNE CONWAY, IT

WAS THE MERCERS WHO INTRODUCED BANNON AND CONWAY TO DONALD

TRUMP, THEY ARE THE GUYS BEHIND THE CURTAIN. OKAY. CHRISTOPHER

WYLIE EXPLAINS FOR THE GUYS RUNNING CAMBRIDGE ANALYTICA AND

THEIR CONSERVATIVE COLLEAGUES, HE SAYS --

>>YOU WILL SEE SOME SHOCKING

VIDEO OF THOSE OWNERS OF

CAMBRIDGE ANALYTICA NOW, THE CEO I SHOULD SAY, THAT CHANNEL FOUR

IN THE U.K. HAS UNCOVERED, I WILL SHOW THAT TO YOU IN A BIT,

AND YOU WILL SEE THAT BOY DOES HE MEAN IT WHEN HE SAYS THAT ALL

IS FAIR WHEN THEY ARE GOING TO DO THEIR DIRTY TRICKS. WYLIE

ALSO SAYS --

>>AND IT'S CLEAR FROM BANNON'S INTENTIONS THAT THAT IS WHAT

THEY WERE TRYING TO DO AND WHAT THEY HAVE DONE IN A LOT OF WAYS.

THE NEW YORK TIMES EXPLAINS --

>>THEY SAY OH, NO, WE GOT RID OF THAT A LONG TIME AGO. NOT

REMOTELY TRUE, ACCORDING TO THE INSIDERS AND THE DOCUMENTS THAT

WERE OBTAINED --

>>CAMBRIDGE ANALYTICA, LYING? THEY WOULD NEVER --

>>BUT OF COURSE IT WAS NOT FOR

ACADEMIC PURPOSES, AND THEY

WOUND UP ACCESSING THE PRIVATE INFORMATION OF 50 MILLION USERS.

FACEBOOK VICE PRESIDENT PAUL GREWAL PUT OUT A STATEMENT AFTER

THE NEW YORK TIMES CONTINUOUSLY ASKED THEM FOR A STATEMENT --

>>SO IT'S TRUE, IT WAS A FRAUD.

ALSO --

>>HE'S THE ONE THAT ORIGINALLY DESIGNED THE APP THAT GAVE THEM

ACCESS TO THIS INFORMATION THEY SHOULDN'T HAVE HAD. NOW --

>>BUT AS I JUST EXPLAINED TO YOU, ACCORDING TO INSIDERS AT

THE COMPANY AND THE DOCUMENTS THAT THEY HAVE, THAT IS NOT THE

CASE. THEY DID NOT DELETE THE INFORMATION, THAT IS NOW ADDED

ON TOP OF ALL THE OTHER LIES THAT CAMBRIDGE ANALYTICA HAS

BEEN CAUGHT IN. SO NOW BACK TO THE ISSUE OF OTHER ILLEGAL

ACTIONS TAKEN --

>>APPARENTLY THOSE WARNINGS WERE NOT HEEDED. THEY USED

ALEXANDER NIX, WHO IS BRITISH, ON THESE CAMPAIGNS. LATER THEY

WOULD CLAIM OH, NO, EVEN THOUGH HE HAS BEEN BRAGGING ALL ACROSS

MEDIA FOR A YEAR NOW HOW THEY WON TRUMP THE ELECTION, OH, HE

HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE CAMPAIGN. AND THERE ARE OTHER

EMPLOYEES FROM THE U.K., FROM THE EUROPEAN UNION, FROM CANADA,

WHERE THEY CLAIM NO, IT WAS OUR AMERICAN EMPLOYEES EXCLUSIVELY

WHO WORKED ON THOSE AND NOT THOSE. I'M LESS CONCERNED ABOUT

THAT ILLEGALITY BUT IT IS AN ILLEGALITY, AND THEY WILL HAVE

TO GRAPPLE WITH IT. ON MUCH MORE CONCERNED ABOUT INVADING OUR

PRIVACY AND USING THAT INFORMATION ILLEGALLY BUT BOTH

ARE MATTERS THAT ARE IMPORTANT. AND THEY WANT TO BE CLEAR, THE

GUY WHO DESIGNED THE APP WAS A RUSSIAN-AMERICAN, HE'S NOT AT

ISSUE HERE, IT IS THE CITIZENS OF OTHER COUNTRIES WHO ARE AT

ISSUE FOR THAT PARTICULAR VIOLATION. NOW, LET ME GO TO THE

CHANNEL FOUR EXCLUSIVE ON THIS BECAUSE IT'S A WHOPPER. THIS

COMES FROM THE U.K., AND THEY HAVE CEO ALEXANDER NIX, WHO WE

HAVE BEEN TELLING YOU ABOUT, EXPLAINING TO AN UNDERCOVER

REPORTER ALL THE DIRTY TRICKS THEY DO IN OTHER CAMPAIGNS

ACROSS

THE WORLD. WATCH.

>>

>>I FIND THAT WORKS VERY WELL. SO NOT ONLY ARE THEY TALKING

ABOUT BRIBES, BLACKMAIL, EXTORTION, BUT THEY ALSO TALK

ABOUT BRINGING IN UKRAINIAN PROSTITUTES TO GET THEIR

POLITICAL WISHES. BUT THESE GUYS, I'M SURE THEY WOULDN'T DO

ANYTHING THAT WASN'T ABOVEBOARD, RIGHT? WELL, I'M GOING TO GO

BACK TO WYLIE BECAUSE HE APPEARED ON THE TODAY SHOW --

>>HE ALSO SAID --

>>SO THAT LEADS TO THE FINAL

CLIP FROM CHANNEL FOUR HERE IN

THEIR MULTIPART INVESTIGATION OF CAMBRIDGE ANALYTICA, LET'S WATCH

--

>>SO HE SAYS WE HAVE TO DO THE PROPAGANDA, BUT WE HAVE TO BE

SUBTLE ABOUT IT SO THEY DON'T REALIZE IT'S PROPAGANDA AND THEY

DON'T REALIZE WHERE IT CAME FROM. WELL, THE PEOPLE WHO PUT

THE MONEY UP, IT'S 15 MILLION BUCKS FROM THE MERCERS, THAT'S

WHERE IT CAME FROM. THE GUY WHO HELPED TO HIRE THIS FIRM, STEVE

BANNON, THAT'S WHERE IT CAME FROM. CAMBRIDGE ANALYTICA,

THAT'S WHERE IT CAME FROM. NOW WE KNOW. A FINAL QUOTE FROM

CAMBRIDGE ANALYTICA HERE IN DENYING THE UNDENIABLE, THOSE

TAPES, THEY SAY --

>>WE DENY ANY HINT THAT CAMBRIDGE ANALYTICA USED ANY

BRIBES WHATSOEVER. ALL THE THINGS YOU JUST SAW THEM SAY TO

AN UNDERCOVER REPORTER. USING PROSTITUTES TO TRY TO ENTRAP

POLITICIANS IS CALLED A HONEY TRAP. AND THEY SAY WE TRY TO

TEASE OUT ANY UNETHICAL INTENTIONS. THAT'S HILARIOUS.

NO, WE WERE SAYING ALL THESE ILLEGAL THINGS TO SEE IF WE CAN

CAPTURE THEM HAVING ANY ILLEGAL INTENTIONS. WELL, DID YOU TURN

THEM IN? NO. THEN WHEN WERE YOU GOING TO SPRING THAT CRAP ON

THEM? OR PERHAPS, JUST LIKE WE CAN SEE WITH OUR OWN EYES, IT

WAS YOU THAT HAD ILLEGAL INTENTIONS AND CLEARLY STATED

THEM ON THAT CAMERA YOU DIDN'T KNOW WAS THERE. BUT YOU THOUGHT

IT WAS A CLIENT, AND YOU TOLD THAT CLIENT YOU WERE WILLING TO

DO ALL THOSE ILLEGAL THINGS. THAT TO TRUMP'S TEAM WAS.

Video of the Day Recap February 10-March 7 - Duration: 11:01.

This might be my last Video of the Day video for a little while. Now I know many of you

enjoy these Video of the Day videos, however I want to begin shifting the content of my

channel towards more educational-type videos. It's pretty clear to me that people who

find my channel, and many of my subscribers, want me to make more educational or creative

videos. If you look at my "Why does Google care about Getty Images?" video, that video

has received the most positive feedback out of all of my other videos, and the one walkthrough

on my channel has also been one of the most popular videos on my channel. Because of the

feedback I've received on these two videos, I want to shift my channel to produce more

educational and creative content, and these videos don't exactly fit that description.

I'm not cancelling this series permanently, and I do like making these videos, so you'll

probably see another one of these types of videos in the future. If you do want to see

when I make another one of these videos and you would like to be the first to know when

it gets released, subscribing to my channel is the best way to be notified when I release

new content. Now on to the video. On February 10, I mostly just watched memes and other

short videos. The meme I added to the playlist for this day was "Wii Shop Channel Flute

Cover" by Timotainment. This flute cover is done pretty well, and if you like the Wii

Shop Channel theme, then you should give this one minute cover a listen. Another video I watched

on this day that was good was TechAltar's "How to Cure a Fanboy." This video wasn't one

of TechAltar's best videos, however I still think it's worth mentioning because I think

the style of this video is well done. I recommend watching some of TechAltar's other videos

before watching this one, because the video isn't all that great by itself. On Sunday,

February 11, I also watched mostly memes, and the video I put in the playlist for this

day is Gus Johnson's "The Failing Couples Of Facebook." This short song is way too

catchy, and once you hear it once, you'll want to watch it again and again. One other

video I watched on this day that was a good watch was Valve News Networks' "The L4D3

Facebook Page Was Fake -Read Description-." This video was good at informing me of a potential

and now debunked hint at Left 4 Dead 3. If you care about Valve, Steam, or Valve's

future games, you should give some of Valve News Networks' latest videos. On February

12, I watched very little videos, so I decided to rewatch a short video I had seen earlier

in the week and add it to the playlist. This video was Ian Kung's "How YouTubers Help

the Homeless." Ian Kung makes some pretty funny videos and topical memes, so if you're into

channels like Gus Johnson or other channels that make 30 second videos, you'll like Ian Kung's

channel. The next day, February 13, I put The Film Theorist's "The Tide Pod Challenge

- EXPOSED!" in the playlist. Film Theory makes some really good points in this video,

showing how the "Tide Pod Challenge" didn't really exist with many social media pages

and news sites exaggerating the entire thing. Another cool video that I watched on this

day was "How figure skating scoring rewards risk over artistry" by Vox. Vox's video

that was made during the Winter Olympics provides some pretty interesting insight to the figure

skating scoring system present during the Olympics. One other thing I watched on this

day that was intriguing was Wendover Productions' "How Overnight Shipping Works." If the

title of the video sounds interesting to you, you will probably like the video. On February

14, Valentine's Day, I watched "H3H3 On Logan Paul Demonetization" that was posted

on H3 Podcast Highlights and put it in the playlist. h3h3productions' opinions on the

Logan Paul shenanigans were pretty amusing to hear, and if you still care about the diabolical,

this video might be worth watching. This was the only cool video I watched on this day.

Next, on February 15, I put Froggy Fresh's update video in the playlist. In this video,

Tyler Cassidy announces his new career in soul music and how he is moving on from the

Froggy Fresh project. He also posted a link to download all of his unreleased music from

the last Froggy Fresh album, so that was a nice surprise. On this day I also watched

two other entertaining videos, austinmcconnell's "Making Money from Fan Fiction?" and Raycevick's

"The Orange Box... 10 Years Later." Austin's video was a cool watch as he goes over how

fan fiction writers are making money from Amazon and what that might mean for the future.

Admittedly, I only watched the first twenty minutes of Raycevick's one hour long video,

however I could tell the video was phenomenal just based off of the first five minutes alone.

If you haven't seen most of Raycevick's stuff, you're seriously missing out and

need to go through his entire channel as soon as possible. On February 16, I put jacksfilms'

"FINNA WOKE. (YIAY #397)" in the Video of the Day playlist. This video was the only

video I watched on this day, so it was added to the playlist by default. The video isn't

bad, and if you watch jacksfilms and his YIAY series, you'll probably like this one.

The next day, Saturday, February 17, I watched and added Marques Brownlee's "Apple HomePod

Review: The Dumbest Smart Speaker?" and put it in the playlist. This review of the

HomePod is very well done, and if you're interested in getting a HomePod, or are just

interested in tech in general, you'll enjoy this video. I still prefer The Verge's review

of the HomePod that I recommend in the last Video of the Day video, however Marques'

review is also very well-made and entertaining, and both are worth watching. One other video

I watched on this day that was entertaining was Pyrocynical's "Why I Can't Come

Back..." This video was a good watch, and if you like Pyrocynical's videos, this video

is for you. In the video, Pyrocynical discusses why he can't ever come back to Twitter as

he is now getting banned every time he makes a new account. The next day on February

18, I put videogamedunkey's "Super Seducer" in the playlist. This video is hilarious,

and you should definitely give this a watch as it's one of dunkey's funniest videos

that's come out in a while. This was the only video worth mentioning for this day.

On the following Monday, February 19, I put How It Should Have Ended's "How Star Wars

The Last Jedi Should Have Ended" in the playlist. Once you've seen Star Wars: The

Last Jedi, you should watch this video as it's a really good video, and if you've

seen other How It Should Have Ended videos, you know just how clever and humorous this

video is. On February 20, Valve News Network released two new videos, and I put one of

them in the playlist called "Meet Gabe Newell's Son." In this video, Gabe Newell's son

talks about his upcoming game and talks about growing up at Valve. The other video VNN released

on this day was "Valve's 'Unannounced Title' - Valve Catch-Up #1" and this video

was also a very good watch as VNN discovers a Valve employee that's working on a quote

end quote "Unannounced Valve Title." On February 21, I put DiscordApp's "Discord

- Spell Checker (Homework Edit) (30 MIN!!)" in the playlist, and yes, I did listen to

the full half hour while doing homework. Some of Discord's videos are actually pretty

creative, even if their videos are just glorified ads. On this day, I also watched some other

videos that are worth mentioning: TechAltar's "Why does Microsoft even bother with Edge?,"

LiveOverflow's "Searching for Bitcoins in GitHub repositories with Google BigQuery,"

I Hate Everything's "I HATE YOUTUBE IN THE NEWS," and NakeyJakey's "Valve Has

Changed." All of these videos are entertaining in their own ways, and all of them are linked

down in the description along with all of the other videos mentioned in this video.

On February 22, I put another episode of the Hello Internet podcast in the playlist: "H.I.

#19: Pit of Doom." This episode of Hello Internet was really interesting as CGP Grey

and Brady Haran, the podcast hosts, discuss one of my favorite CGP Grey videos: Humans

Need Not Apply. I highly recommend listening to this episode of Hello Internet if you like

that video as much as I do because the second half of the podcast episode is effectively

an extended edition of that video. This is the only thing worth mentioning for this day.

On Friday, February 23, I put Stir Fry by Migos in the playlist. What can I say, it's

a good song. I didn't watch anything else significant on this day. PolyMatter's "Apple's

Money Problem (& Why It Won't Buy Netflix)" was the next video I put in the playlist on

February 24. This video was very well done as it explains Apple's tax-evading financial

position and how that's about to change. If you like interesting videos or videos about

economics, this video is worth giving a watch. This video was one of the only videos I watched

on this day. On the next day, Sunday, February 25, I added the full Persona 5 soundtrack

to the playlist. I was recommended this soundtrack by a friend, and it's really a really good

soundtrack, so if you need something to listen to, give this a listen. This was the only

thing worth mentioning that I watched on this day. The next video in the Video of the Day

playlist for February 26, is jacksfilms' "*cough*." I know I've put lots of jacksfilms

videos in the playlist, however this video is probably one of his best that is in the

playlist. This video is short, but pretty creative, and it is a pretty original video

compared to his other formulaic videos. If you want to see a a little bit of an experimental

video, go give this video a watch. One other thing I watched on this day that was cool

was Tom Scott's "Launching An Entire Fireworks Display At Once." This video shows how firework

systems are wired and designed and how they are designed not to fail. If you're not

sure about the logistics of fireworks, this video might be worth watching. On February 27,

I was introduced to my second favorite meme of 2018: (BestTrends) "Hey, how's it going

guys and welcome to BestTrends. Today we're gonna be going over, five Fortnite YouTubers

WHO'VE SWORN." This meme is amazing, and I hope to see more people using it in the

future. I discovered this meme through Pyrocynical's "STOP THESE FORTNITE YOUTUBERS" and put

it in the playlist. The next day, I forgot to add something to the playlist. When I went

back and checked what I had watched for this day to add a video to the playlist for the

day, I saw that I only watched was the audio version of Stir Fry by Migos. Because it was the only

thing I watched on this day, I was forced to put this song in the playlist once more.

On March 1, I added Extra Credits' "The Legality of Loot Boxes - Designing Ethical

Lootboxes: II" in the playlist. This video is yet another video in Extra Credits' loot

box series, and if you liked the Extra Credits videos I mentioned in the last Video of the

Day video, you'll also enjoy this video. This is the only video I watched on this

day. On Friday, March 2, I put grandayy's "Precious Foot Lettuce 💚" in the playlist.

This meme is definitely the best use of the Burger King Foot Lettuce meme and the You

So Precious When You Smile meme, so if you once liked either of these memes, you should

watch grandayy's take on the memes. I watched almost nothing on March 3, but I did watch

Gus Johnson's "Toss Me A Cold One." I'll be honest, I don't like this video

very much, but it was the only thing I watched on this day, so I just put it in the playlist.

The next day on Sunday, March 4, I put videogamedunkey's "Metal Gear

Dies" in the playlist. This video was funny and informative, and if you want to know about

Konami's newest Metal Gear game, Metal Gear Survive, this video is worth watching. There

was a few other videos that were really entertaining that I watched on this day: "Nintendo Switch

- 1 Year Later - Predictions & Concerns" by Adam Koralik, "Privacy of a Youtuber"

by kliksphillip, and "Casually Explained: Critical Thinking" by Casually Explained.

All of these videos are awesome, so if you need things to watch, these videos are really

worth your time. On March 5, I put "NRA TV: Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO)"

in the playlist, a scene from the the HBO show Last Week Tonight. If you've seen other

episodes or scenes of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, you'll definitely like this

video as this is one of the better scenes from the new season of Last Week Tonight.

One other video I watched on this day that's worth mentioning is TechAltar's "Why does

Nokia reboot old phones?" TechAltar's explanation of Nokia's smartphone strategy

was very interesting to me as I didn't know much about Nokia today before this video.

The next day on March 6, I put "Curb your assassination attempt" by Lord Joe in the

playlist. This is perhaps one of the best curb your memes, as the song meshes well with

the crazy video it is played over. The other memes I watched on this day aren't worth

mentioning here. The next video in the playlist is a very well-made video: Raycevick's "So

I've Finally Played... Quantum Break." This video is amazing, and if you want a review

for Quantum Break, you should watch this video. Another video that I watched on this day that

was a good watch was Marques Brownlee's "The 🍎 Ecosystem: Explained!" If you

watch Marques Brownlee's stuff, you shouldn't miss this video as its one of his better "explained"

videos. Although, I haven't fully caught up to the most recent video added to this

playlist, I'm going to end the video here as I want to give myself time to work on the

next video, the Save Jesus video.

So subscribe if you want to know

exactly when that video comes out. Also, although I didn't talk about the videos I've added

to the playlist in the last week, you should still give them a watch as videos like Summoning

Salt's "World Record Progression: Metroid" are incredible videos. Thanks for watching

what may be my final Video of the Day video for a little while, and be sure to watch the

Save Jesus video when it comes out. Goodbye.
