- Lighting plays a major part in every video.

Because depending on how well lit you are,

you either have a video like this.

Or like this.

(crickets chirping)

Hello?

What was that?

(gasps) Oh.

Here are four great tips around getting the perfect lighting

for your video.

Number one, make sure you put as much light as you can

in front of your subject,

by either facing them towards the window

or setting up lights in front of them.

If you have too much light coming from behind your subject,

they'll wind up looking like a silhouette

or the background of your shot will be blown out.

(mimics explosion)

Number two, too much of a good thing

can turn into a bad thing.

Except for sweets.

You want one?

If you have too much light coming from one source,

then part of your shot might look overexposed.

So either add more light to fill out any shadows,

or position your subject further away

from the light source you're working with.

Number three, if you wanted to be in the spotlight,

then you probably should've chosen a different career path.

Like a comedian or a ventriloquist.

So make sure you don't stand under an overhead light,

as this will create shadows under your eyes

and will add years to your life.

So either step out from underneath the light,

or turn it off when you're filming.

Number four, if you just can't seem

to get rid of those shadows no matter how hard you try,

don't stress; we've got you covered.

Use the powerful LED light provided in the Shootsta kit.

to light any shadows on your subjects face.

And that's it.

Feel free to scroll down below if you want

a more in-depth breakdown of these tips.

Thanks for watching.
