The one topic of discussion in SOC is about classification of proteins based on their chemical composition
Can you explain more clearly?
Classification of proteins based on their chemical composition was divided into three,
The first is Simple Protein
Then The second is Conjugated Protein
and the last is Derived Protein
Oh it's a lot, could you explained more easily?
So Simple Protein
is protein that only made from amino acids,
joined by peptide bonds.
Oh, I see.
for example Protamineand Globulin
Protamines are proteins that has globular shaped,
the simple protein but more complex than peptone or peptide.
Soluble in water and are not coagulated by heat. For the examples are salmin in salmon, and skombrin (scombrin) on mackerel fish
Globulins are proteins that has globular shaped,
has a high molecular weight. The familiar form of Globulin is hemoglobin, which carries oxygen throughout the body.
If the Conjugated Protein is a protein that bonded to a non-protein compound.
For example, there are Lipoproteinsand Glycoproteins
Lippoproteins are proteins that attached with fats / lipids.
Serves to transport various forms of fat and cholesterol in the body.
Glycoproteins are proteins that attached with carbohydrate, acting as hormones, antibodies and blood clotting process.
Meanwhile, a Derived Proteinis protein that given special treatment by the chemical and physical processes.
An example is Coagulated Caseinand Denaturated Protein
Coagulation Casein is a destruction process of protein by the heating and clotting or hardening of the protein.
The factors causing coagulation of proteins are the existence of acid, heat, enzymes, salts and microbes.
Examples of coagulation proteins is the manufacture of cheese with the help of enzymes and process of making yogurt with bactery.
Protein denaturation is the process of changing the complete structure and characteristics of the protein beacause of the some problem.
Factors causing protein denaturation is, because of the heat, acids and bases, heavy metal salts and alcohol.
Examples of protein denaturation process is a fried egg.
The difference from the coagulation and denaturated protein is in coagulation the biological and protein activity unchanged,
while in the denaturation changed.
Oh that's it, meant a classification of proteins based on their chemical composition.
But, why you always talk about organic compounds and proteins?
there is no question about the stoichiometry?
