Geeky Gaming Hey Geeks, it's Andrea.
I'm not going to go into any details, but I have been going through some things in my life lately.
It's been really hard and I've needed distractions so I have had so many cartoons
on my television in the background.
So, I figured we could go over some cartoons to watch when you just need a laugh or a break
from reality.
I made a list of cartoons I have watched either in the past, like my childhood, or recently
and it was well over 50, so I can make quite a few of these, but I am very much looking
forward to your input as well.
Alright Geeks, let's go.
5.
Archer If you have never seen Archer, I'm going
to need you to stop this video right here, put on some sleep pants, turn the lights off,
turn on Netflix, and reward yourself for all the great things you've done in life.
Archer is undeniably one of my favorite shows in the world.
The main character is Sterling Archer.
A secret agent who enjoys his alcohol, sex, and life's expensive pleasures.
He has a unique relationship with his mother and is a bit of a dick to the people he is
around.
You might love him, you might hate him, but you're likely to find him entertaining.
If the secret agent party boy isn't your cup of tea, there are so many other characters
on the show to keep you tuned in.
If somehow you haven't heard of Archer, several of his regular sayings have become
memes, so I'm sure you've seen him around.
What isn't a meme these days, though?
4.
Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends I wanted to include a cartoon or two here
that wasn't necessarily created to entertain adults.
Sometimes when you need to get some shit off your mind, watching shows made for kids can
be the way to go.
I mean, to an extent.
There are a lot of shows made for kids that I couldn't sit through.
In fact, probably most of them.
Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends is a fun one though.
There are plenty of jokes meant to entertain parents and other adults in the room while
their kids watch this.
Let's be honest, most shows for children that we fall in love with are going to have
jokes and graphics a kid might not understand.
There are plenty of imaginary friends to fall in love with in Foster's.
My personal favorite is Eduardo.
Although he is large and could be intimidating, he is a bit like me: Scared of everything.
Let me know who your favorite is.
3.
Animals I actually recently discovered Animals.
It was created by a couple of guys who premiered this at the Sundance Film Festival before
HBO picked it up.
Most of the voices were also done by the two, but they do have some guest voices you might
notice.
Animals follows the life of different groups of creatures.
For example, the pilot followed an awkward rat and his friends and they went to a rat
party.
I can see animals being a very divided show.
You'll probably either love it or hate it.
I personally like it.
Every episode follows multiple groups of animals facing very human like situations.
Often named Mike and Phil.
The new season is start next month, so now is a good time to get caught up on season
1 on HBO go.
2.
The Brak Show I remember being a young kid watching classic
adult swim when my parents thought I was in bed.
It was the best.
Brak was originally from Space Ghost Coast to Coast.
Which I personally haven't watched much of.
Probably because it was from like 1994.
Which is forever ago.
Anyway, Brak really blossomed as a character in his own show.
He is a space cat who loves to sing and is generally really happy and brings a smile
to my face.
In addition to Brak, Zorak from Space Ghost is also part of the show.
He is quite the opposite from the loveable little Brak and is just a mean ol mantis.
The Brak Show debuted slightly over 16 years ago, so I imagine many of you Geeks haven't
heard of it.
I couldn't even tell you the last time it aired on Cartoon Network.
That being said, I definitely recommend getting your hands on it.
There are only 28 episodes so it's a pretty easy one to get through.
1.
Family Guy Okay, clearly this had to be here.
Undeniably one of my favorite shows.
Seth Macfarlane has made a lot of great shows, but we definitely have to give props the original.
I adore cartoons that have a lot of random scenes and Family Guy definitely has plenty.
For me, I feel growing up watching family guy really helped develop my love for more
adult cartoons.
My entire family quotes this show more than I feel like I should admit to.
Do you guys have something like that with your family?
Until her most recent phone, my mom's ringtone for us kids was always the clip of Stewie
going 'Mom, Mom, Momma, Momma…'
I love my mom, she is such an adorable dork.
I'm not going to be that asshole who says if you love Simpsons you'll love Family
Guy because it's simply not necessarily true.
I don't consider the shows to be that similar.
Also I highly doubt many people on the internet haven't watched Family Guy.
One of my favorite things about the show is how much they get away with.
I've always been a fan of pushing boundaries and being a little bit offensive in the name
of comedy.
Alright Geeks, that's going to do it for this video.
Thank you so much for hanging out with me today.
I am definitely going to be doing a lot of these, probably even this month.
Like I said before, I've been going through some shit, so putting shows on has been a
great outlet for me.
So I would love to hear some recommendations from you Geeks below.
On a side note, I am not going to be doing t-shirts of the week every single week for
a bit.
Thank you for everyone who has supported those, we will definitely do more once all of the
things going on is worked out.
There might even be a t-shirt here or there.
The last couple months have just been frustrating.
I really have to be focused on getting my life back together.
Do me a favor and make sure you are subscribed before leaving.
And don't forget to leave a like, comment, and share with your friends.
Alright Geeks, I will see you next time.
