The Hildebrand Family Vlog February 2019 Update Video - Duration: 7:18.

- Hi guys, Keith here.

Welcome to the vlog!

It's gonna be like a update video.

We're gonna talk about some things.

Just like to reconnect with you guys

every now and again 'cause I know it's been

a minute since we've actually sat down and talked.

So today, let's get into it.

All right guys, the first thing I want to talk about here is

just Instagram, and if you don't follow us on Instagram,

We came down to town to take a little walk.

We've been stuck in the house for a few weekends here.

Here in Indiana it's been super cold.

Polar Vortex and what not.

It's like, heck, even,

I'll put a clip in from a few days ago.

But as you could see it was snowy and really cold then.

And just a few days later, no snow to be found!

All right, heck, I even had to take off the jacket.

It's so nice out here right now.

It's like almost 60 degrees today.

It's wonderful.

Chrissy has a new car now.

New Camry here.

It look's really pretty!

It was sort of like a new car, not by choice,

but by

the circumstances.

Someone rear-ended her in her other car

and it got totaled out.

So we had to get another car.

Unfortunately, that's the way it seems to go sometimes.

You get the thing paid off, someone rear-ends you.

Dang!

Anyway, we got the whole crew here.

There's Lauren, and Nathan, and Chrissy.

Gonna take a walk, you guys excited for

walking around town?

Oh, yes, show them.

Lauren wants to show you her hair.

She's got some sort of purple stuff going on there.

It's cool.

Well, let's go!

We're just walking around downtown Vevay here.

Check this out.

We got a new restaurant in town,

the Ferry Street Fudo, Japanese bistro and sushi.

What'd you think of, cause we ate there,

what do you think of it?

- Well.

- [Keith] It wasn't really your thing?

- No, it wasn't really my thing.

- Yeah, I really liked it.

I thought the sushi was good,

and the stuff that I got was really good,

so I'd definitely recommend coming down, checking it out.

But that's pretty cool.

We have the Japanese restaurant here.

Right across the street there's a Mexican restaurant!

We have

those two restaurants, we've got bars everywhere,

the casino's right down the road with a fancy streak house.

I mean, for a little community like Vevay,

to have all the options around, it's amazing.

And if you're looking for a cool place to stay here in town,

if you're ever in this area, you should definitely

check out the Schenck Mansion here.

There's the phone number and the website

if you wanna check it out.

But look at this place.

It's super awesome.

We need to take a tour of that some time, I think.

Look at that, there's a ditch.

It goes around the property right there.

That's probably for drainage,

but it kinda looks like a moat

next to the giant house up there on the hill.

Danner's here, which was a hardware store,

but it's closed now.

It was the oldest continuous business in the original site

in India, established 1838.

Lots of history here, huh, bud?

But as you can see, she's closed down now.

Also, if you're in town, you gotta check out

the historic Hoosier Theater.

Sometimes they have movies playing on the weekends,

but right now I don't see a schedule so

I'm guessing they don't really

have anything going on right now, but.

I believe they have a link to it.

I'll put it down below.

But you can check out the events and things

they have going on in there.

Well, the river looks kind of...

It was pretty high up here, up the ramp here,

as you can see with all that stuff right there,

but it looks like it's gone quite a bit.

You see the

barge and the tugboat, that's pretty cool.

There's a little bit better a view here.

As you could see, it's all muddy and nasty.

If I zoom in right there, you could see there's like a

giant pile of logs down by all those pillars right there.

Where the river was just up and all this muck and mud

just got everywhere, even all the way up to here.

I would think

'cause of this line of nastiness that

goes right up through here.

But anyway, I'll put a video right here of

the flooding we had last February.

We took some drone shots of that, so

I'll link that up here.

Used to kinda be just like a spring thing,

but now it seems like it's like,

earlier and earlier that we just get

so much more flooding through here.

And we can't really go down there, but like,

I don't know, would you say that'd be like a

20 foot hill or something right there?

And if you turn just right up here,

check out all this debris from the

flooding that's up here.

You can see the line,

it just goes right on through there.

The water got pretty high.

I think it might actually go

right in here.

There's a line.

I wonder if it went right about there.

That got high, didn't it, Lauren?

- Yeah, it totally went that line.

- All right, well we walked around for about an hour,

so we gotta run to the store and get some stuff

and then we're gonna go home, so see you in a second!
