Who owns you??
Can you take a moment and answer this very simple question... who owns you??
While you are thinking of an answer, let me share a story, once upon a time, in a faraway
land, there was a very beautiful princess.
One day when she was a baby, she was kidnapped by a witch.
This princess grew up to be a beautiful, beautiful young girl.
She was not only beautiful to look at but also had the magical power to create anything
she wanted.
But, she thought, no she was convinced that she was ugly to look at and was worthless,
useless.
It was because this witch kept telling the princess, day in and day out, really hammering
it in, till the princesses believed it whole heartily, that she was ugly and useless and
worthless.
Once a day, as if always happens in fairy tales, a handsome prince came and rescued
the princess.
Slowly, with the love and support of her prince, the princess realized how beautiful and talented
she was.
She realized that she had the magical power to create anything she wanted.
And they lived happily ever after.
If you are wondering why I am telling a fairy tale.... wonder no more.
The witch is, our doubts, fears, limiting mindsets which stops us from achieving our
true potential and when we rescue ourselves, (really can't wait for the prince charming
or princess charming to show up) we can live a life filled with joy, adventures, and achievement.
So, coming back to the question... who owns your life.
Before you say, you are a free man or women... think again... are you really??
Do you own your life, or your fears, excuses, victim mentality, fear of what will people
say owns you, the mindset of limiting beliefs own you?
Bal Gangadhar Tilak, One of the Great Indian freedom fighter raised this powerful call
when India was fighting for its independence.
"Freedom is our birthright and we shall have it."
And we did.
Glorious, glorious freedom.
Freedom is our birthright, so why are we still slaves to our doubts.
Why are we not fighting it with all we have? we can't, we are not good enough, I don't
have the time, I can't do it because I had a bad marriage, bad childhood, bad parents,
bad brother and sister, bad world, god, I can't do it because of what will the society
say, I am more bothered about what will my neighbour's son's cousin's girlfriends'
dog think.
what if I fail.
what if people make fun of me, laugh at me.
Excuses, blaming others, being a victim is the surest way to a life of regrets, frustrations,
anger, hurt and waste of a beautiful life.
If one person can do it so can I, so can you.
Let's stop complaining, stop making excuses, stop cheating ourselves out of the beautiful
life we are supposed to have.
When down and out, pick yourself up and ask how do I add value to this world.
Add value to one person's life, just one person's life and you will add value to your life.
Things will move the way you want to.
And if you don't exactly succeed, you are still a success because you did not let your
fears, doubts hold you back.
Every failure teaches us if nothing else, it teaches us what not to do and that is also
the right way towards success and a happy life.

Most of us have never heard of Vidya More.
She is a huge success in her own right.
She is illiterate, inexperienced and belongs to one of the most disadvantaged parts of
the society.
She is the widow of a farmer in India, who committed suicide because his spirit was broken
by years of crop failure and mounting debts.
Vidya chose life.
She saved herself and her children out of the burning hut.
She has not only paid off all the debts but both her children are in school and have a
better future because of the immense resilience and courage shown by their mother.
Not everyone can achieve success on the scale of Oprah Winfrey, but there are millions of
people like Vidya More who have overcome immense odds in their life and not given up.
These people own their life.
So, coming back to what started all this ... Ask yourself... do you own your life or do your
excuses, complains and fears own you.
Every day we stop ourselves from doing what we truly want, every day we give in to our
fears, we are losing one precious day of our life.
We are here on this planet earth for a limited time, so let's own our life, empower others
to own theirs and choose happiness.
