We understand that being unable to do your job
because of a work-related injury can be
a difficult and uncertain time.
So, we want to help take the pressure off.
With our Recovery at Work Program,
we'll support you, so that
you can focus on getting better,
and if you're watching this video,
the process is already underway.
To develop your Recovery at Work Plan,
we'll bring together all the key people
that will be involved in supporting you,
a case management or injury management advisor,
your workplace manager, and of course, your doctor.
In consultation with you, a plan will be developed
to support you back to work, performing duties
that are considered safe, appropriate and relevant
to the stage of your recovery.
These will be designed to help you get back to work.
Together we will identify the duties you can safely do,
any restrictions or supervision that might be needed,
clear timeframes and milestones to plan for,
and any other arrangements to minimise further risk.
Often work-related injuries won't involve time off work,
but if you do need time to recover, we can help you arrange
the appropriate leave, and our support doesn't end there.
The health and wellbeing team will keep helping you throughout
the implementation of the plan, monitoring your recovery
and considering any changes that might be needed, such as;
increasing your hours of work gradually over time,
back to your regular arrangement;
reducing the frequency or length of rest days or breaks;
or introducing new or additional duties
to build you towards your pre-injury workload.
And that's the ultimate aim,
to return you to your pre-injury role.
Your doctor will need to provide you
with a Certificate of Capacity, and
continue to provide these for each stage of your recovery.
We'll also be checking in with you after you're back to
your pre-injury role, to make sure everything is okay.
If you lodged a worker's compensation claim,
a case manager from the insurer will be allocated
to look after the details of payment
for any reasonable and necessary medical treatment
relating to your workplace injury.
Just make sure your case manager at the insurer
is aware of your treatment needs,
and our support is guaranteed,
regardless of any decision by our insurer about liability.
The Recovery at Work Program is here for you,
and we're committed to ensuring all employees with an illness,
injury or health condition are supported
through their recovery and back into the workplace.
You'll find your responsibilities,
all the important contact information,
and the answers to some frequently asked questions in this email.
So if there's anything other than getting better on your mind,
there is always someone to reach out to.

We're here to support you.
