So a lot of you already know that I'm a very happy,

open, proud member of the LGBTQ family

But for those of you who don't I wanted to make this video so that I can say it out loud and really

Let you all know

because I'm very proud of who I am and I don't want to be

hiding or lying or

you know, just leaving anybody in the dark and

I've realized how important it is to me to come out for so many reasons

for myself for all those people who can't out of you know

Because they have peers and family who might be homophobic or they might be afraid of

Homophobia from them, you know fear of getting kicked out or disowned

and then there's so many people who

aren't familiar with the community and I realize that and I want them to see the normalcy and

See that they have

LGBTQ folks in their school at their work in their family in their neighborhood and

I want to come out because I live in a country where I can, where it's okay. It's not illegal

you know as far as I know there's still 72 countries where it's illegal and

the activists who were fighting for equality before I was even born

Didn't put themselves in a danger so that I could sit around and be silent

And I want to come out for the LGBTQ youth

who have

vastly higher

risks of depression and becoming victims of bullying and assaults

I found out that nearly 30 percent of these kids have attempted suicide

And so that's why I want to come out. I want to come out for them

So

If there's anybody out there

who's listening

just know that you are strong and you are perfect and you're amazing and

You know yourself better than anyone else and your feelings are valid and you don't have to explain yourself and you don't have to answer

Personal questions and that it's a long journey

But you're gonna get through it and it's gonna be amazing and you're gonna be fine.

And I love all of you and

If there's anybody out there who's having mixed feelings about me

Please just remember that I am the same person

that this is something I've known about myself for many years and
