Wynnewood, PA: A video tour - Duration: 2:57.

Hi, I'm Jennifer LeBow and I'm a realtor here on Philadelphia's Main Line. I

specialize in helping buyers who are relocating here from other areas. I

realize how hard it is to get a sense of the different "feels" of our Main line

towns when you're just looking at a map or even property listings online, so I

thought it might be helpful to take you on a few little mini tours of our

Main Line communities and give you an overview of the different towns and a

look up and down some of the streets. So let's go!

Today we're going to look at Wynnewood. If you look at it on a map, Wynnewood

runs from the southernmost edge of the Main Line all the way to Ardmore. Wynnewood offers lots of shopping including many national stores like Whole Foods,

Old Navy, Bed Bath & Beyond, DSW, Panera Starbucks

and more. There are also some local retailers like

Five Below, which is a great store if you have elementary school-aged kids in your

life. Wynnewood residents also love having a well-respected hospital right

in their town. Schools are great too; over 95% of homes

here are located in the Lower Merion School District which is very highly-

rated. One of the largest sections of Wynnewood is called Penn Wynne. On the

western side you'll find many smaller homes on modest lots. Residents of this

area often describe it as a very close-knit neighborhood.

Penn Wynn Elementary is located here as well as Manoa Park, which has a nice

playground, tennis courts, a big field and the sledding hill! Remington Road is home

to some estate homes and leads you to Shortridge, another very popular Wynnewood

neighborhood. Many of these are split- levels and have nice yards and a very

safe kind of suburban vibe. Shortridge is within walking distance to the majority

of the shopping areas in Wynnewood as well as the train station.

Shortridge fans always cite location as a big plus. Across from Shortridge is a

development called Indian Creek that has somewhat contemporary homes built about

thirty years ago on lots that are around 1/2 of an acre. Again location to both

shopping and access to major roads is a benefit of living here. If you're looking

for a more substantial home on a larger piece of property,

Wynnewood offers that as well. For those looking for a little more elbow room, yet

still near everything, you can find it. If you envision a home where the local park

is the center of the neighborhood Wynnewood's Ardmore Park section is perfect.

Northern Wynnewood can be more heavily treed in some areas which provides

privacy that some people really like. Lots of older, more stately homes can be

found here. There are also a few small newer communities like Sydbury Glen

and Knightsbridge that offer newe,r larger homes in small developments.

A slightly quirky but very popular neighborhood is Arthur's Round Table, a

cluster of half-timbered English style cottages. So, as you can see, there's truly

a wide variety of housing styles and neighborhood types in Wynnewood and its

location can't be beat.
