Intercom Integration Setup - Video Tutorial - Duration: 7:49.

Hello welcome to Survicate. Do you user intercom and want to know how to

integrate it with Survicate? Did you know that with Survicate you can collect

information about users and send it straight to intercom? or add tags on users

and companies based on survey answers? Look no further, because doing today's

video I'm going to show where to find it how to set it up and talk over the options,

to fully benefit from gathering feedback. So, the first step you should take

after creating an account and before adding first survey is going to the

settings section.

Now before we enable integration with intercom let's start with another thing

which is switching on the Advanced Mode to make sure you get the most from this

integration. To access it we should go to Addons and pick Advanced Mode by clicking

on the edit button here. Advanced mode is an addon which allows you to track

answers within integration by mapping and tagging. It is required to enable

this addon in order for most integrations to fully work. So go ahead and tick

mapping and tagging and then click enable. If you want to know more about

mapping tagging, some other options, I strongly recommend you to visit our

knowledge base section available Survicate website. Ok ,after it's done we

should go back to settings and pick integrations. From the list of

available integrations we need to choose intercom as the one and then click on

the edit button to access it. Now we need to click on the big blue button here to

enable connection. A pop-up window should appear make sure

that you've got a standard environment picked and not a test one by clicking

here in the corner.

Last step is to click on the connect button and wait for the process to be

completed.

Great, so as you can see everything went fine.

Let's go back to intercom integration and click on the edit button again. Now a

little hint for you - If you ever want to reauthorise the connection or remove it

feel free to do it from this section by clicking on remove the authorization

info. It is especially useful whenever you notice any malfunction in

integration like : attributes tags or events are not recorded upon received

answer. This method should be a first step to fix the issue. That's all for

today , in the second part I'm going to show you all the internal options in

intercom integration like: user tags, together with some explanation, see you

there. OK, since we already got our connection

established, we can move forward to the best part which is going through all the

options. For example you're able to save survey answers to intercom as: User tags

.After enabling this option you are able to store your pre-designed tags on

intercom user profile. Tags will be sent to intercom upon receiving the responses.

It happens every time a user answer a question even if he doesn't complete the

whole survey. Take a look at this example

Company tags - Similar to user tags with the difference that tags are going to be

saved on intercom company profile instead. Let's move forward to Events

Quite a handful option, allowing you to store user events and activities

visible intercom for further checks. By using this function you can check was

the name and answers given to the survey. It is especially useful in cases when you

wish to understand the single user behavior. Take a look at this example as

well. User attributes- perfect fit for people who do not use tags in intercom as

the primary source of information. Whenever you do filter and group your

users based on attributes, allowing this option let you create the new already

existing attribute as well as the value to it. It will be visible on user profile

Attributes can look like this in intercom.

And company attributes - just as the user attributes but instead of user the

company profile would be enriched with the attribute value.

In case of integration settings you can - Enable integration by default for new

questions. Set this option if you wish to have such setup up and running for any

future surveys you will add to your workspace. Open a new conversation upon

receiving a text answer. You can jump start the chat window right after the

text answer will be submitted. This option might be especially useful if you

wish to engage with a customer feedback without any delays. And enable survey

targeting based on intercom segments and tags. Do you filter your users or

companies using segment in intercom or maybe tags is your go to filter for

them? With this option enabled you allow to target the survey directly to the

people you have in your defined segment or tags, but remember that it only works

with website surveys. What if your needs are to create a brand new intercom

profile for someone who took part in your survey? If that's the case , we can

help you to create a fully functional profiles. Just remember to use contact

form type of question where you can ask for name, email and company name. It will

help you to populate the profiles with the useful data. Ok, so let me talk over

those options here.

Leads in intercom. It will create a lead profile with the information you asked

in the survey and contact from question. Users in intercom- Same as before but

this one will create a user profile. You can stay with this option which is not

allowing any new leads, users or profiles to be created in intercom. This option

will be definitely useful for those who do not need the functionality mentioned

before. At the very end, please remember to save the changes and

make sure that integration with intercom is actually enabled. That's all for today
