Waching daily Apr 5 2018

Hi there, Survivors!

A new week brings a new episode of the Garage.

It's the 40th episode!

A kind of anniversary.

To celebrate such events people usually do something special.

Today's episode is dedicated to the new mode, which many wanted to see in Crossout.

Let's get to business!

The wait is over.

One of the most popular modes, which has forever changed the preferences of players.

Hundreds of requests from you.

A bright, tense, and memorable combat, where the strongest and the luckiest survives.

Battle Royale has come to Crossout.

The ruins of an industrial complex not far from the highway in Red Rocks

have long been known in the Wastes.

Dozens of buildings, mountains of twisted rusty iron,

skeletons of permanently frozen mechanisms—

all this initially attracted the attention of Survivors hoping to find something useful—

but almost all who went there disappeared without a trace.

Here the laws of nature have become distorted and the place has become the center of sandstorms.

Distracted travellers instantly become victims of the deadly element.

Weather anomalies boost sand and air to crazy speeds, making it feel like sandpaper.

Transport, caught in a storm, survives for several moments before it turns into dust.

But not the weather anomalies and not the treasures of past eras have made this area truly famous.

The fact is that this is where the Royal Playground is located, the place for bloody entertainment.

If someone tried to describe Kenneth 'Rat King' Parish in one phrase,

it would most likely be something along these lines: he creates controlled chaos.

One of the most dangerous Survivors, gifted with a sophisticated mind and strong intuition,

he does not seek to be at the center of events.

The greatest pleasure for the King is to create chaos and watch as it develops,

drawing as many people as possible into the bloody mess.

'Battle Royale' became the embodiment of Kenneth's life philosophy,

the focal point of all his secret desires:

together with his assistants, he created the Playground,

found the first persons to participate in his insane entertainment,

and then took on the role of an observer and an excited fan.

His passion for creating and observing chaos is something akin to pyromania—

the aim is not to burn as many people as possible, but to see how it happens.

A community instantly formed around 'Battle Royale', with sweepstakes and gamblers—

Kenneth did everything to enable as many spectators as possible to share the chaos created on the Playground.

And, pretty quickly, this show became famous and popular in the Wastes.

Several dozen desperate raiders are put into special buggies, which, according to rumours,

were constructed by the Rat King himself.

These light cars do not carry any weapons—

it is scattered in the form of modules throughout the Playground.

Here's what the participants have to do:

survive the longest in the buggy—the winner can only be one of them.

The weather anomaly won't let you sit in one spot and wait,

randomly sweeping the polygon with clouds of sand, deadly for everyone who gets in them.

The roar of engines sounds in unison with howling wind—there can only be one winner in this chaos.

Crazy technical solutions allow you to select and mount modules on buggies 'on the fly'—

which means that the configuration of each enemy is unknown and is constantly changing.

Participants of the battle have to rely solely on their instincts and luck,

closely monitor possible opponents and signs of a sandstorm in order to get

the title of 'Battle Royale' champion.

The best type of entertainment in the Wastes is for those who have given in to madness so much

that the surrounding world seems boring.

Come to the Rat King—and tell your friends about the 'Battle Royale'!

If, of course, you are lucky enough to return.

We remind you

that the Developer Blog series tells the players about preliminary plans for the development of the project.

The final version may differ from the changes described above.

See you in the Wastes!

How many players may participate in 'Battle Royale'?

Upto 32 Survivors may fight in one battle.

What's the engagement time?

The mode has been created with the account of Crossout gameplay specifics,

this is why the fights are moderately short—8-10 mins on average.

I'm not familiar with the 'Battle Royale' concept.

What's the idea behind?

Players appear on the battlefield with a primitive ride of the same configuration:

there even is no weaponry in the beginning.

You have to pick up additional modules right on the arena.

The map itself is quite big, but the safe zone is gradually decreasing what with approaching sandstorms.

Players are forced to constantly retreat and eventually find themselves on a puny patch of ground.

The last one to Survive is the winner.

What's the map like?

It's a quite bumpy area, combining plateau, mutilated ride frames, and abandoned buildings.

Red Rocks is the biggest unique map in Crossout as of today.

It's currently the only available map for this mode.

Will my favorite tactics be applicable for 'Battle Royale'?

Or should I adjust?

It depends on the the tactics, but most probably not.

As in any competition with equal input, like the chosen Melees or Big Black Scorpions,

you have to proceed from the initial conditions.

A lot depends on chance, reflexes, and the reaction speed.

How to improve the ride to get the advantage?

Get the modules scattered all over the place—those are red-flagged.

This is the prime pledge of victory.

The number of improvement spots is limited, that's why sometimes you'd have to make a choice.

You can also get bullets and repairing kits as valuable cargo.

Please keep in mind that you can't shoot off the details from transport in Battle Royale mode.

By the way, if all the boxes have already been taken,

while you were still familiarizing yourself with the area, don't get discouraged.

From time to time the Rat King throws up something new.

Does the sand storm cover the area randomly?

Yes.

The front always moves the same: from the borders to the center.

But the disposition of the safe zone itself differs with each fight.

You'll end the battle in different places: watch those on the map carefully.

Any advice on the tactics?

Go easy on camping.

First, there are very few 100% safe covers on the map.

Second, the mode itself is very dynamic, and doesn't imply long pauses.

The best way is to play quick and aggressive.

This doesn't mean, however, that there are no covers: there are buildings, blocks, and even tunnels.

Nail the enemies to the wall when the arena is contracting.

When the sandstorm is coming, all the players start moving to the safe zone,

and, willingly or not, drop their guard down.

This is a good moment to ambush someone.

If you've come to the point earlier than anyone else,

you can keep an eye on them from the safe side of the border.

Others will come soon, there's no other way.

At the same time, fighting on the border from the side of the danger zone makes for misery.

The skirmish will linger, you'll forget about the threat in the heat of the fight, and the sandstorm will take you—

both you and the enemy.

Always look for modules.

You not only need to boost your ride,

but also make sure that the enemy gets less bonuses, bullets and repairing kits.

We'll wrap the episode up with the questions from our players.

Not about the 'Battle Royale', but still very important ones!

Just out of pure curiosity.

Will the first player, who gets to level 100 of any faction, receive any reward?

Quite frankly, there were no such plans.

But the idea is interesting, we'll think it over.

This one's about new raids.

They've become longer, but the season missions have not been corrected.

Are there any plans on remaking missions and rewards?

Of course, anything can change—both the missions and the prizes.

We're currently studying the statistics and getting ready to make a decision on how reasonable it might be.

Well, that's it for today, Survivors.

Fight, train, design and trade.

See you in a week right here, in the Garage.

Tell your friends about the show if you like it, and leave your comments.

We're always ready to hear you out.

So long for now!

Trinity Nova - Máscaras de Porcelana [OFFICIAL VIDEO] - Duration: 4:21.

Looking at myself in the mirror

I search for,

One more reason

To believe again...

Now that...

I no longer know what trust is

The knife on my back, left a scar...

The nail on the board, marked a hole...

My burned hand, became useless...

And the trip I fell for, left me grounded...

These are the Porcelain Masks

That cover fragile pieces of my soul

These are the Porcelain Masks

That won't let me get hurt again

I deny what I feel

To avoid

disappointment, once again

I Ignore my heart...

and can't escape from this cold prison

The knife on my back, left a scar...

The nail on the board, marked a hole...

My burned hand, became useless...

And the trip I fell for...

These are Porcelain Masks

That cover fragile pieces of my soul

These are the Porcelain Masks

That won't let me get hurt again...

My essence in your hand

It was misused, it was all in vain.

I'm stronger,

I will not suffer

Time helps,

to mature

I'm stronger,

I will not suffer

Time helps,

These are the Porcelain Masks

That cover fragile pieces of my soul

These are the Porcelain Masks

That won't let me get hurt again...

The Junior Data Scientist's First Month (Intro Video) - Duration: 6:43.

Welcome to Send-a-Tree!

This is your first day as a junior data scientist and I'm your manager and mentor...

Well, at least, we will simulate this scenario.

I'm Tomi Mester at Data36.com and this is "The Junior Data Scientist's First Month"

video course.

You might already know: This is a one hundred percent practical Data

Science Video Course, where you will get the true-to-life data set of a true-to-life startup

and use it to solve true-to-life data science tasks.

The whole course is based on my personal experience working for several companies as a data analyst!

Here's how it will work: If you enroll, you will receive a data science

task via email or video every Monday, Wednesday and Friday for six weeks.

These tasks build on each other, so by solving them you will find out more and more about

this hypothetical startup, Send-a-Tree.

But more importantly, you will solve more and more challenging data science tasks, and

you'll become better and better with them.

One or two days after receiving each task you will get the solution from me: the code

base sent in text format and the detailed explanation sent in video format.

So this means that you theoretically have 1 or 2 days to solve each task.

(Of course you can always decide to open my solution video and email a bit later, but

I usually don't suggest it, as these delays can pile up very easily.)

Anyway, the task itself will usually take 1 to 3 hours of active work, depending on

your current data science knowledge.

If you already know things (like the basics of statistics or SQL or Python), that's

great, but if you don't, don't worry: when I send you the tasks, I'll send you

the links for the free online materials that will give you the theoretical fundamentals

to solve the given case.

Occasional tasks might require some proactivity, and you should investigate on the internet

by yourself, just like during real-life projects.

If you are stuck, there will be three ways out!

a) You can try the juniordatascientists.com forum's exclusive section, accessible only

to you and your fellow online course participants, where you can help each other with the tasks.

b) You can also take a look at the solution videos and codes that I'll upload for each

task.

c) And you can send me an email as well and I'll be here to help.

I also encourage you to participate in a 30-minute 1-on-1 intro call with me - via Skype - before

the course, so you can tell me about your motivation, interest and current focus in

regards to data science.

We can also set up a 30-minute Skype session after the course to map out the best next

steps for you on your way to becoming a data scientist.

Okay, let's take a look at the exact agenda: DAY 1.

I'll send you the intro videos and your only hands-on task will be to set up your

own data server.

I'll give you free access to my other 1-hour video course and a 2-month coupon for a DigitalOcean

data server.

DAY 2.

Get the raw data!

You will download the raw data of the Send-a-Tree startup, and I'll explain what is what.

When you have downloaded the data, you will have to transform it into a meaningful format

and clean the garbage out of it!

You might want to create new data tables too.

DAY 3.

Automate the dataload.

You will create smart automations and scripts to let your server do the daily dataload instead

of you.

DAY 4.

Put everything into SQL.

For certain tasks, SQL will be much more useful than any other data format.

You will also set up SQL Workbench.

DAY 5.

We will automate the whole SQL import process.

And then we will run some exploratory data analyses.

DAY 6.

Create and analyze segments.

You will try to give some advice to the hypothetical marketing department based on the data, focusing

on the different subsegments: who to target and why!

DAY 7.

You will solve a more complicated segmentation task where you also have to run revenue calculations.

DAY 8.

Let's take a step back and think a little bit about the most important business metrics.

What can help you the most to measure the success of Send-a-Tree?

Once you have a list, let's get these numbers from our data - and as always, automate the

dataload.

DAY 9.

Visualize!

Once you have created your business metrics, you will want to present them in a meaningful

way, so the whole company understands them!

DAY 10.

Funnels!

We will generate a basic funnel to measure the purchase process and generate a visual.

We'll create separate funnels for the most important segments.

This day will pretty much summarize the first nine tasks.

Also, this will be the last SQL task.

DAY 11.

This will be our first Python day!

You will get a warm-up task to practice and you will learn how to create a cohort analysis

in Python for a smaller data set.

DAY 12.

We will do a cohort analysis on our real data set and take a look at business trends.

You will use Python3 - and its built-in features like "if statements" and "for loops".

DAY 13.

During the last week, we will focus on making basic predictions with Python - using pandas,

numpy, matplotlib, scikit and more.

On this day you will get a few simpler tasks to solve in pandas to get familiar with it.

DAY 14.

We will predict the number of expected registrations -- using two different regression models!

DAY 15.

On the second day we will try to categorize the unknown values in our data table using

a powerful statistical concept called classification.

DAY 16.

You will get a new data set from another fictional startup and a final task to test your freshly

gained data science knowledge.

You will have 4 days to solve this new task, and if you send me your solution, I'll personally

evaluate it and give you feedback about it.

Sounds exciting, right?

I'm telling you, if you join a startup as a junior data scientist, there is a very high

chance that you will be asked to do most of these tasks!

I know, because I've been in that position too!

Ready to roll?

BBInfinite Pro Tip: Tubeless Conversion Rim Taping Done Right VIDEO 1 - Duration: 2:30.

Setting up a wheel tubeless can be quick, easy, and clean, and I'm about to show you

how to do it like a pro.

Whether it's a new rim, or an old rim, you gotta get it perfectly clean so the tape will

stick.

For that you need a little bit of alcohol, Scotchbrite pad, and get to work,

To make sure you got it clean, use a white paper towel soaked in alcohol, and rub it

on there.

Keep working until it comes back perfectly clean.

It's good practice to always round the nose of your tape, and what this does, is it keeps

from having little edges that can get caught and start lifting.

Locate your valve hole, and move up about two spoke holes, or about six inches, and

begin your taping.

Lay the tape in the valley nice and straight, and then get it stuck down, and now the fun

begins.

Now that I have the tape laid into the valley I'm going to put my hand here to hold it in

place because I'm going to draw a lot of pressure on it.

Don't punch yourself in the face if you slip.

But, you wanna keep that tension on there and watch the way that thing goes, sucks right

down into the valley.

Just by putting on about 25 or 30 pounds of pressure.

As we get close to the end, what we want to do is go past where were laid that tape in

to start.

We wanna go past that, and the valve hole, as I can feel it back here.

You wanna go past that about two spoke holes like we did before, or at least 6 inches,

and then you want to cut.

Alright, then to terminate we just want to round our edges, and push this right down

where it belongs.

Now you want to find where your valve hole is.

Confirm it is, you don't want to accidently poke where the spoke hole is, and then you're

going to wanna kinda just probe in here a little bit until you find it, and cut a very

small cross notch in it.

Just like that.

And then push the valve through, and tighten the nut down.

So that was easy; we got the rim taped without a problem.

Now we need to mount our tire, add the sealant, and get this thing pumped up, and I'm going

to show you how to do that in our next video and it's going

to be clean, quick, and we're gonna do it like a pro.
