Everything I've learned about growing, I've learned through trial and error,

Through pain.

I learned how to love myself Because I once looked at

this brown skin, and wide nose With disgust.

I learned how to be a better friend After being a crappy one,

I learned that I will Fail time and time again,

And even if it still Feels different each time around,

I always seem to end up okay.

I've learned that friends who Say 'forever' might leave before the sun rises

And that sometimes all you needed Was time apart before you could start

To build something new, something better.

We grow in many different ways, Constantly, without us even noticing half

the time.

And I think the scariest part of growing, Is also the scariest part of life.

The person you are now, Won't be the person you are in a year

a month, or even a week from now.

We never know exactly what's going to happen, A choice that seems so simple at the time,

Might take us down a path We never thought of embarking in the first

place.

But I think, or I hope that if we All continue to make good choices,

And I mean the ones that aren't always clear, The ones that will chill us to the bone,

Those are the ones that will force us into the unknown,

Those are the choices that will help us grow The way we're meant to.
