I always get asked where to find stock video footage. So in today's video, I'm
going to show you my top five picks for finding stock video footage for your
videos.
First is Pixabay. Pixabay is a Creative Commons zero.
Which means that all the videos on their site, you can use for commercial or you
can use for personal. And they have a whole lot. I actually have used them. Many
people use them for photos. But a lot of people don't realize they also have
videos. You can do a search up here to find exactly what you're looking for.
And here's an example of some of them. This one is like in 4k
it's 27 seconds. This one is in HD and it's 20 seconds. Hold your cursor over it
and kind of get a glimpse of what it is. This one here is in HD and it's 12
seconds. And they have a mix of several different things. So you can add these to
your video to improve them. Let me click on one and show you how that looks.
Let me pick one up here. This one here. Once you get it open,
this tells you the person who made the video. And you can actually buy them a
coffee if you want to pay them for it. Or you can follow them give them a thumbs
up or heart. I always make sure to give them a thumbs up or a star. And then it
tells you it's an mp4 format. This is the resolution. The duration is 20 seconds.
And it tells you when it was uploaded, how many views it got and how many times
it's been downloaded. And all you have to do is click free download. And it gives
you the different sizes depending on what you need for your video. And you
just download it from there. And because it's Creative Commons zero, you do not have
to attribute this. So in other words you do not have to list at the bottom of
your video that you got this from such-and-such place. And all the videos
on pixabay are like that. That is my number one choice for where I get my
videos. Another option is Pexels. These are free stock videos. And you will need
to look at the Terms of Service on some of these. Because some of, I think all of
them, you can use for business. But I would double check that.
And Pexels also has a whole lot of different ones. You can just run through
and look at them.
Here's a really cute one here with a rabbit. Let's look at it. And again this
one is Creative Commons zero. Which means free for personal and commercial use. No
attribution required. And you just click free download to get that. My third
choice, and I'm gonna butcher this name, because they do it every time.
Videvo. Videvo is another site where you can get free stock video
footage. And they have a browse all most popular, most recent. Again, you'll need to
check the licensing on these. I do know that if they are made by Videvo,
that there is no attribution required. Some of these are made by other people
though. Like this one here. So you'll just have to go through. I kind of like this
one right here. Let me show you what it's like. Click in and it tells you the
resolution usually, file size, format, aspect ratio, frames per second. This one
doesn't have a lot of information. But most of them do. And let me show you this
one. Because I think this one would be really good for like doing a bumper or a
start of a video. Because it does this great countdown thing. It starts ten, nine,
eight, seven, six and then it gets faster, and closer, and then it explodes. And
right there you could put your logo. And so, I think that is just a really cool
one. But yea the standard license for Videvo, yeah I told you I was gonna
butcher this. For Videvo. A standard license for Videvo is, no third party
attribution required. So you do not have to point back to the site or anything.
You're free to use it in your commercial and in your personal. My fourth choice,
and I actually do use this one a lot, is Videohive.
The reason I like Videohive is you can get all kinds of different effects to go
with your videos. Not just stock footage. You can get the after-effects if you use
Adobe After Effects. You can get infographics, elements, 3d
elements, logo stingers, openers. You have the Apple motion stuff, motion graphics,
overlays. revealers, transitions. A lot that you can use to make your videos a lot
better. Let me show you a couple of those. This one here is a Youtuber pack for
Final Cut Pro. And it's $33. But you get all these different styles that you can
use. As you can see, there's a lot of different ones. You can use them all. And
they're all different prices. Let me go down here. Like this one here, hot rain
background is only $8. And you can get that one to use in your videos.
And this one here, colorful abstract loop is only $8.
This one here, full gold is only $8. So there's all different prices.
This one here is $20 it's a sea horizon. They're all different prices. And all
different things. So, you can check them out. You'll see this one here. There's a
parallax slideshow for $28. But you paid per. But make sure when you do it. Let me
click over here to show you. It has the license details right here.
And so you'll want to check that because there's a regular license, and then
there's an extended license. So you need to read through. And this is the same on
the entire site for everything. That's, that's how the licenses go on the entire
site. You'll need to read through, because it's going to be a different price if
you need to buy the extended license. So that is Videohive. And I highly recommend
it if you're doing a lot of professional work and you need to get some really
original stuff in your videos. So my next choice is Pond5. Pond5 is a lot of really
high quality video clips, There are, most of them are 4k. Most of them are
professionally shot these are the kind that you would see in TV commercials,
these are the kind that you would see in documentaries. Pond5 does have a lot of
great choices. And because it's a membership site, you can actually
purchase a membership. And that way,
that way you can get a different price depending on the membership. So make sure
you look through and see. Some of them are available for commercial and some of
them are not available for commercial. So you'll need to look through and see what
each of them are. Let's see if I can check out one for you. Let's go to, let's go to
the 4k.
See over here to the side? You can pick the price range. Here's the membership.
Membership can be downloaded. Media that can be downloaded for free with a Pond5
membership. There's select. These are premium selections. And then there's an
archival. Which I think archival, if I remember correctly, is stuff that is just
Creative Commons. You'll want to check which ones are available for commercial,
which ones can be used for editorial. And of course you can choose the resolution,
duration, frames per second, if there are people in it. you know,
additional filters. So it's got a great search area over here. Which is very
handy. You can kind of see these are a little bit higher priced. Because these
are the type that you would use in commercials and use in documentaries.
There's another one, it's like $149 to $299. I think the higher price depends on the
resolution and on the membership. Because you have to be signed in to find out
what your price is going to be based on your membership. And the membership for
Pond5 is $99 a month or $500 a year. But if you're making a lot of high-quality
videos, then this might be worth it for you. And that is pretty much my demo for
