Waching daily Jan 24 2018

Hey, what's up, heroes?

If you ever had something you want to change but you couldn't figure out how to convince

people to do it, this week, I'm going to be talking about how to start a movement, so

make sure you stick around and check that out.

Hi, my name is Roman Ryder.

On this channel, I help you unlock your powers and be the hero of your story.

If you're new to my channel, make sure you click below and subscribe.

I put out new videos every week and you don't want to miss out.

Have you ever heard the saying winning the hearts and minds?

What if you had to choose out of the two?

You had two win either the hearts or the minds.

How would you choose?

Which would you choose?

All right, the hearts is where you want to start a movement.

The minds, some people, they want to see the data, they want to analyze the numbers.

They're going to take a while to make a decision and decide if this is something they

want to be a part of but the people that are driven by their hearts, people like me who

follow their intuition and make gut decisions and just somehow know that's the right thing

to do, those are the people you're trying to find to start a movement.

If you've ever watched my channel, you've probably heard me say do and say what you

believe.

Well, if there's something you want to change and you do and say what you believe and you're

doing it passionately, you're going to find people are going to be like, "Yeah, that's

right.

We should change that.

How can I help you?"

Those are the people you want to find.

Those are the early adopters, the people that are driven by their hearts, the people that

can become a part of your movement and take it from something that you want to change

into something that we want to change, and turn it into something great.

That's my little two cents for this week about how to start a movement and win over

the hearts of the people that will help you make your dream into a reality.

Wisconsin Master Naturalist Citizen Science Video - Duration: 4:36.

Citizen Science gives volunteers an opportunity to contribute to programs.

The data that they are collecting is useful and someone wants it and needs it and it helps

to protect things that they are interested in.

It's science, you know, it's real science, and we're gathering data for professional

scientists.

We're doing it on a volunteer basis.

Volunteers are fantastic.

They are great at collecting biological data.

They're great at collecting what species are showing up in their back yards, or going out

there and sort of documenting new species.

You have a lot of people who can come together and help you to collect that data.

You can get much more information and have a much more robust study in the end.

The more data, the bigger the data set, the more confidence you have in that data and

then the better management you can derive from analysis of that data.

Every single survey is an adventure; you never know what you're going to come across, what

you're going to find, and what you can learn.

Studying prairie chickens at 4 a.m. in the dark, in a blind in the Buena Vista Marsh

is just such an exciting thing.

How wonderful this is to go in kayaks or canoes at night and get to watch and listen to bats

and help with this very vital information.

We tag monarch butterflies in the fall to be released for their migration and to hold

that monarch in their hand and release it, you just see that connection and that awe

and I just think that's so powerful.

We have a group of farmers who are working together in a sub-watershed scale to make

improvements in their farming practices to reduce the amount of sediment and nutrients

that are running off into the waterways.

And so the Master Naturalist Volunteers are then monitoring what we're hoping is going

to be an improvement over time, showing that yes, management practices on the land that

help reduce soil erosion really does translate into better water quality and the volunteers

are the ones that are out there taking the samples to track that over time.

We come out and we take water samples, test them for pH, for disolved oxygen, and also

look at the invertebrates in the stream, which is the most fun part.

I'm a fly fisherman and I do gain a lot of information about what's in the stream.

I think citizen science is pretty exciting to be able to upload your data and then see

it reported nationwide.

Information that you helped collect is going to live on.

You actually get to be involved and do the howling and tag and release the butterflies

and listen for the frogs and it's just...you get to be out in nature, which is awesome,

but you also get to know that you're a part of something bigger.

I think it's very important that science is disseminated more widely among the people

that we don't have just this elitist idea about "this is science."

Folks that are living on the land and are the ears and the eyes and the heart of what's

going on on the land and for them to have sort of an official capacity to be able to

report their assessments and what they are seeing, the changes from season to season,

from year to year, I think it's a really wonderful opportunity.

It is a story.

It's a base of knowledge.

You're not just going out and "oh, there's a wolf, or "there's a butterfly" you're ensuring

that we have these things for the future, too.

I hope every Wisconsinite realizes that they have a part to play in keeping Wisconsin as

special and healthy and full of nature as it is.

And so you learn, you network, you contribute.

You get to experience nature in a way you've never experienced it before.

Make a difference in your local community by getting out and educating yourself and

being part of preserving biodiversity in our world.

Citizen-based Monitoring Network at wiatri.net/cbm and search for citizen science projects by

subject and location.

How to make a DOPE animated video in 48 hours (Adobe CC Pro Suite) | Gabe.Video - Duration: 4:22.

Hey guys happy Monday Tuesday Wednesday... I don't know a day it is. Today we're

gonna talk about an animated video that I made completely in adobe suite the

tools I use bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla let's get started. Recently I got the

opportunity to work with a cool new company called trophies Mac it's a

fantasy sports trophy company with some really cool customization options so

right away I was super excited because I got to work hand in hand with one of the

founders of the company and we got two together establish some of the look in

the feel of the video that tied into the brand that they were currently building

so it's really cool to get in early and work with them and to create something

that really told their story in a very very silly way you can watch the video

by clicking the link right somewhere above here if you're watching this on

YouTube if you're watching it on Facebook well I don't usually work with

startup companies because there's always so many unknowns the product changes

their launch date changes but this one was a different type of company I did go

to high school with one of the founders and it was really cool to reconnect

those roots and get to work on something that was professional and that we both

had passion for we took a loaf I approached this video it's very much

inspired by Monty Python and you know those really cheap animations but it

really connected with the audience and it started to see some really great

results really early on so here's how I made the video I fir started out by

hiring awesome voiceover actors and lay down the Select takes into the premiere

timeline I then wanted to work with the timing of the piece and brought in the

background and still photos to create my shots I quickly laid the photos and

adjusted the size of the characters to simulate different shots being able to

visually see the potential shots let me further visualize the piece in my head

and let me slowly add in other background elements like a table TV

picture frame etc as needed then once we thought the timing was perfect the real

work began I imported all the footage into the dhobi After Effects and then

organized all the layers into individual pre comps or shots I then used the

camera tool to create the camera movements in time to individual

character layers for animation in each shot once everything looked good and was

perfectly timed I moved on to the mouth animation of the care

for this I use a plugin called lip sync from ammo world I'll put a link to the

plug-in and a tutorial in the description below this plugin takes a

while to get the hang of so I suggest starting on a shot with limited

animation until you get it right once I get the mouth movements right and

make sure the individual shot is done I export from after-effects as a PNG

sequence for the best possible quality I then go on to create and animate every

shot I need after each export I bring the PNG sequence back in the premiere

and replace the original clip of the storyboarded shot and then adjust the

timing and make small cuts accordingly I go back and add in more sound effects to

flush it out and do a final sound mix once everything is in place the very

last step is to add some film grain at a very low opacity to give it a consistent

look okay wow that was a lot of work all in all I did this video in under 48

hours of total work time it's one of the fastest turnarounds I've ever had

timelines for something so complicated with so many moving parts to it

I hope to dive deeper into some of these animation elements in further videos but

for now if you have any thoughts comments or questions go ahead and put

them in the comment box below I'm gonna take a little break from posting these

videos I know I've been less and less consistent on these but I'm working on a

ton more content to put out and the way I have to do it just because of my

schedule and some of the client videos and things that I have coming up I'm

gonna shoot them all on batches oh also I am working on my series untethered

which you probably saw the little spaceman floating around in some of my

prized videos that is coming together really nicely I want to take the time

and give it the quality attention that it needs

before I start posting it on here so look for more updates on that for those

of you that subscribe thanks so much for sharing the journey with me for those of

you that don't what the your problem is you haven't yet hit that red button

below that's mark subscribe and give it a thumbs up while you're at it let's end

this
