videos related to Michael Jackson well I thought it was the time to do so because
many people have opinions about me and they haven't even met me they don't even
know me so I thought it was time to open up to show them who I really am it is
simply Michael Jackson this is the Michael Jackson the world knows the
legendary superstar who has been at the forefront of the music industry for
virtually his entire life
one of the most electrifying performers the world has ever seen
he's raised hundreds of millions of dollars for charity and sold more than
200 million albums

next two hours as you were allowed an unprecedented look into the personal
life of one of the world's greatest entertainers
you'll see Michael at home with his children and traveling with his most
intimate friends you'll be allowed inside the gates of Neverland for a
reunion with the Jackson family and share personal never-before-seen moments
between Michael and some of the world's biggest celebrities Eddie Murphy the
Elizabeth Taylor Michael Jordan Macaulay Culkin Chris Tucker and Princess Diana
all tonight on Michael Jackson's private home movies the King of Pop up close and
personal as far back as I can remember I've been in front of the camera not
just a TV cameras but I'm talking about my family taking home movies I mean when
I was really really low we live in Gary Indiana my father worked in the steel
mill and we live on a street called Jackson Street coincidentally that was
the name of the street and imagine nine kids living in a two-bedroom house we
have to wait in line to take baths and that's a snowball fight I think resting
in the snow that's me on the far right I don't want nothing to do with it they
were pretty rough yeah that's me I'm freezing I think that's Tito on the
ground just a living without all the furniture and
and he would dance and perform we'd loved it
you'd see the smile on my face that I loved it and my father was standing
right in front of us watching this making sure we did everything just right
that little girl that my mother is holding is Janet who is now mrs. Rhythm
Nation and that's a party we played a lot of parties we're actually performing
the music but they're dancing too that's the guitar if you look at the
back to see me spinning around right there and my mother made all of our
costumes we did parties we opened shopping centers we did any kind of
thing you know but we travel travel travel constantly
every night the record company usually I for you to support your album and go on
tour and I don't like to I do like relating to the fans giving the fans a
chance to see you face to face because you go from Hong Kong to Africa to China
to Brazil to you know Singapore Switzerland London
Russia and the stadiums are just jam and then it's the energy is great it's
fantastic and we have I mean I don't know how they enjoy the show because
it's festival CD they don't want chairs you play or chair they would stand all
of them just so we have a tent on the side issues like 5,000 thanks every
night we have all the doctors and paramedics but but it's a difficult
thing you look for one continent to another you're sleepy the time zones are
different you can't sleep after the show the
adrenaline is up here just the negative thing that you don't like the tour just
I don't like it I know I go through I go through hell okay I'll make it positive
for you know the truth I love to tour no no no but seriously there is a good part
touring it's the fans I love my fans you go to any city anywhere in the world
they know all the songs all the dance moves everything they even come with the
tape on their fingers the hats in the glove and everything this is just a
wonderful experience I love it
the fans are the reason or I do the tours and it's very important to give
the best show that we can possibly give
them [Applause]
Oh
it's a spiritual thing also because when certain songs we play like heal the
world we are the world or man in the mirror you get the whole stadium is lit
up with these big lighters they use use and they know when to do it they you hit
one court and they know exactly what it is this is very emotional I mean is it's
it's fun and I love to entertain that's that's one of my favorite things I think
the fans see that actually I know they see it because when I walk out on stage
they give me so much love and that's everywhere I go every time I walk on
stage the best moments it's right here right here it's right in the middle of
the show and it's my birthday and I'm thousands of miles away from my family
when they surprised me with the full marching band and then they brought out
this huge beautiful birthday cake [Applause]
I realized that I've got family all over the world everywhere I go because my
fans really show me the love and I love them just as much
[Applause]
[Applause] [Music]
I've met a lot of people in my life and very few are real real real friends we
can probably count them on one hand and Elizabeth is one of the most loyal
loving caring people that I know she decided to transform Neverland
to its first Christmas because I don't saw every Christmas it is night
and this will be Michael Jackson's very first
because Terry I think five years talk into celebrating Liza's
Merry Christmas when Jehovah's Witness I said to Michael I think Christmas is a
wonderful way of celebrating its celebration
pretty Amit I had no idea she was planning this this was a real surprise
that's my bedroom and she's coming to them
[Music]
[Music] [Applause]
my girl she know I don't like that dog because I'm afraid of dogs didn't little
bit they bite she decorated the entire house
[Music]
[Music]
that's yours 13% sounded from bel-air at the same time is exciting I feel guilty
too at the same time I remember going in the bathroom crying later
I thought I had something wrong there I was raised not to ever celebrate
realizing you're photographing me without any makeup on
[Music]
and I have this one is for you
[Applause]
if you're wondering why I love Super Soaker so much just because if you come
to Neverland it's a room that you are bound to get wet you could be thrown in
the pool or you have a water balloon fight or a Super Soaker fight I love all
of the above that's Janet we think so much alike he come Kali cookin smack
takes big buckets of water throw a minor you cheat Scylla it he's fun
he loves to have fun just like me off the field
super-soakers are really high-tech they got some really great now that's max
owner brother Shane a fuse we're preparing the water balloon fight
we're teens where's the whole wrench my favorite thing in the world play if you
call it a sport its water balloon fight no I - wait they splatter when they hit
I've never lost a water balloon fight I'm the Michael Jordan of water balloon
fight we won the fight again Jenna clear Oh Jeff what's the like on the winning
team I mean I would do this entire water balloon fight completely dry
[Music] but knowing macaulay culkin he made sure
he schemed on he told me to grow up on the diving board and I wouldn't up there
like a net coming up never-before-seen home movies from
Michael's creation of the biggest selling album in history
besides it's really an unbelievable look at the King of Pop in the real world
Michaels own camera takes us behind the scenes at the Grammys plus private
moments between Michael and Princess Diana she called me away from the line
and I saw Prince Charles look at me and I said oh boy
a Jackson family reunion
and Michael's very own vacation videos [Music]
all when Michael Jackson's private home movies the King of Pop up close and
personal
[Applause]
[Applause]
with thriller my mission was to make a short film a story
so it was like watching a mini movie this whole movies it was Karen it wasn't
just a video just a lot of abstract you know craziness that doesn't make sense
I'm not like other guys of course not that's why I love you though I mean I'm
different what are you talking about this is a
rehearsal at these scenes practicing my acting
different
Austral sure are a monster
[Applause]
when everything I have to destroy
people always tend to the root
we just got taking it no more
we're Paco's you no wrinkles like this can you see chance
I can see right about what your night is what is she
ah deeply so spits that's how you back up okay this is me experimenting with
socks patroller both socks white socks rhinestone socks I tried everything I
didn't want to copy people I want to be an innovator fine there I just cracked
that thing over gel and his head I love John Landis he's great to work with man
he always turns me upside down
[Music] oh this is on the way to the Grammys I
have gotten a record 13 I think 13 nominations for fraud and so I don't
know what was gonna happen really unless humanity was one of my best friends
best garden smite but personally I just heard her and Diana Ross are responsible
for launching the Jackson 5 and we got a contract with Motown and started from
there well there's my man the real creator of rock and roll Chuck Berry
that's one of the greatest entertainers that ever lived
James Brown idolized I think we're on our way going inside the building
okay Manuel he tried to go up onto her dress
he's a flirt see I like that he liked the Tuesday's competition miss me
walking yeah
when we walked in a guy's huge tumultuous applause people really was
excited
this is after I'd won the Grammys who was the world's record I had won I won
eight thriller still to this day stays the largest selling album worldwide so I
can't even catch up with it with my own album
it's sixty something million now I was very happy and I thank God because it
was my dream and had come true I said on one of the one of my interviews it's my
dream to go on a supermarket and just shop and be like everybody else and put
things in a basket because I can't do it because if I write try to do it people
crowd around your they want autographs and no one's good sign these and take
pictures that's why I love disguises so much I could sit on a bench at
Disneyland and see what people really do and talk about but when they see it's
Michael Jackson they change I don't see the real thing you know it's so I want
to see the real world what's really like and it's very difficult so the good
friend of mine who owns this mall he had them close a whole shopping mall
and he had people in there that I knew pretending as if they were shopping so
it felt like you know was a real environment
yet my cousins just like they were bad boys and I went I went shopping he was
great they planned everything right down to the music
now people know who you are you accepted the bloodline
a lot of fun it gave me a chance to see in my way kind of what the real world is
like even though it wasn't the real thing
[Music]
eventually I started recognizing people like the woman in the blonde wig is my
Manny even Elizabeth Taylor was there she was on the cover of this magazine
[Music]
everybody was messing with me trying to steal my car
[Music]
their problem here was not hard train cartoon
[Music] [Applause]
it's just like Disneyland in my opinion cuz I got to do something that beauty
don't get to do that's Shannon and my mother backstage and one of my concerts
the singing almost has allowed us me
I remember one thing my mother said to me we were in the Copenhagen I think and
there was just a sea of people that was like over 200 thousand people and her
eyes were watery she was on the side of the stage I said mother what's wrong why
are you crying she said when you were a baby and I was
holding you in my arms I would never dreamt it you would you could you would
do this you would have this kind of effect on an audience like this and I
gave her a hug and tried to get her on stage she's so shy she no matter what
she will not come on stage but I thought that was really sweet her choreographing
it we had two days to choreograph ah now little bit pressure
it's mostly just spontaneous movement which it should be because to have
everything choreographed would be kind of hokey for this type of song
as well that's what we did coming up footage she'd never seen as
Michael Jordan and Michael Jackson go one-on-one on the basketball court and
[Music] on the dance floor Macaulay Culkin and
Michael Jackson show us their home movies from a day at Neverland Mac is
the most reckless driver oh my god
Elizabeth Taylor gives Michael a really big surprise
and for the first time ever Michaels own home movies of his children all when
Michael Jackson's private home movies the King of Pop
[Applause] [Music]
never an appeals to the child inside of every man woman and child it's a place
where I feel that you can return to your childhood you find grown-ups you know
doing things they haven't done since they're like 10 years old
it's a just a fun wonderful place to be it's so much to do I always wanted to
have a place where you just busy all day and there's just unlimited space with
one quads and mountains and horseback and all kind of fun things because uh
it's just a fun place I love it and I will always love it I will never ever
sell Neverland Neverland it's me you know it's it represents the totality of
who I am it really does I love Neverland here we
go on three wait wait wait don't cheat no no but your hands gotta be inside the
sheets Allah it is fun he loves to have fun
and if you divide a body coordination a lot of confidence that's like that's my
cousin Eli's you just push me in the pool
best leave on my other cousin and the red eye dried off they pushed me right
back in I can't believe that first shot of you in those shirt on
thank you so much reckless driver oh my god brother Kieran on the back
[Music]
[Music]
trampoline whoever finds to go to Magus biggest prize
[Music] fortune
I want to win this game Hey
[Music] yes my cone most kids never call me my
name Michael either applehead or another name which I don't want to say it's not
a bad word [Music]
in someone's pocket there's an egg
[Music]
taking his wife Veronique see Gregory dancing
that's the child that comes out inside a man when they come to Neverland he's one
of the nicest people in the world I really love Gregory Peck and his wife
best their dark blanket maybe they're not and blankets sister is lizard a
tailor's dog Gregory Peck is a dear dear friend of ours
[Music]
he's singing he's happy
now he wouldn't I can't he would never go on the zipper I hold the world record
on that right I went on that 4:35 ministry I mean he gets on this thing it
brings back his childhood thanks can we do it every weekend but the short film
jam I got to work with the greatest sports legend of all time Michael Jordan
I knew this was going to be amazing so I had all these cameras set up all around
us and there was tons of footage that never made it into the piece you're
about to see some of the best and some of the worst we have to play one on one
it was so embarrassing
he never missed that was the object for him to teach me to play basketball and
for me to teach him to dance
[Music]
he's one of nicest people you'd give me he is he spends his summers teaching
kids to play basketball he signs off his autograph
we had a real game people crowd around and they watch me playing one-on-one and
wondering who's gonna win this game I wonder who actually this is my
favorite part of the whole short film if this is candid you know it's fun he was
really embarrassed he said I really wanted to just move his legs in the
right place theater like birds
[Music]
I love you [Music]
he's my only God he's famous he's the best
[Music]
Joe Jackson Dave represents a day for our father we don't celebrate birthdays
really so we create a day for a father and the day for our mother all the
family comes and we present them with speeches how we feel about them and we
give them presents there is the guy who taught me everything on the stage
there's Janet there's Alex the chimp she's got earrings on my father loves
animals I think that's where I got my love for animals from but this was his
day it's two names for that ride the spider or the puke bucket
I don't think Jana got on this she's just with chicken but the real fun is
when you see five hundred kids you know terminally ill children heaven find
their mother unless the part comes to life they're having fun just my mother
and father sitting together which is a great shot it's fantastic
she's taking a popcorn it's mine extra touch nephew are you
together okay she's like me she left the camera
[Music]
let's chatted in myself yeah what the whole family calls her doc which is
sharp the Duncan you've always called her this and she was a little girl going
into the movie theater have to see a magic show - ice cream that's her Jen
loves to eat we gotta put their neck in there
we got you he's tagging that
[Laughter]
that's hilarious in this back at the other house that day Janet and I gave my
father we brought him a boat and he loves to fish he loves fishing he loves
the outdoors she's an outdoors he's teasing her
it's very hard to work with Chris Tucker because when the director says action we
need to start a screaming laughing just look at him eyes pop out of his head
because he's so funny and that's what makes it typically does these little
things in between where he's just improvising and it's very funny
[Applause]
some of the best stuff in rock my world is with Sean on the screen Facebook
[Music] just to kiss and all the other way
you took for your lap I want some real Chinese food
and this short film we ate all this food we ran out when I pant it's so fun
knock it out yeah
coming up Emmanuel Lewis and Michael's vacation at one of the happiest places
on earth we went to Disney where that's the ultimately case alternate some very
surprising home movies of Michael and Elizabeth Taylor outtakes from Michael
and Eddie Murphy because the mine didn't move from the riding in cars with
Michael plus some of Michael's favorite home movies of his children all when
Michael Jackson's private home movies the King of Pop up-close-and-personal
return
you
great talent people like Chaplin I mean God how could you not admire his genius
he was the King of pathos I mean you know how to set your heart and you know
how to make you laugh and cry at the same time I mean he he was the master of
that and I find some of that and what I do and relate to him although I
sometimes feel like I am him and I like to dance very much so sometimes I'll
close myself in the room and I'll just put on spotlights and and upon my
sister's music Janet's music dance and discover your
thing was like I can go with my body I always tell him my favorite song of hers
is a Rhythm Nation and the knowledge son loved the bass like it really just makes
me crazy makes me wild and we think so much alike that we come up with the same
ideas at the same time son sometimes a lot of times and I told her
at one time that dancing was going toward more military style movement at a
short 3d film with Francis Ford Coppola and George Lucas called Captain EO for
Disney fan and we did a lot of military stuff Jana had seen it she called me on
the phone and she said Michael is it okay if I steal if I steal what you were
doing a Captain EO I go where you want to still to see if the military stuff I
thought I could choke you to go why I said cuz I was gonna do my next short
film was kind of the awful military I said well know what since you're my
sister I love you I'll let you do it you can you take it and that's what she did
with a mission
that's her best short film I think I
[Music]
went on the ranch on the property and I had a cameraman to pretty much shoot me
coming up with ideas of how I wanted this thing to be and I won a hat so I
wanted to wind and I wanted just a lot of attitude you know a lot of some quick
cuts some big shot long shot and at the last minute that's it now I want to do
it as a West and it should be like hot summer night in Chicago 1945 and
underground kind of thing going on I
think that was the best way to go it's one of my favorite pieces
I get more comments from Tamara Mellon any other the PC level were dying
[Music]
[Music]
lady diana in real truth was one of the sweetest people I've ever known because
some we could relate to each other we share something in common with the press
I don't think they hounded anyone more than her in myself and we had a
relationship a very good relationship where we would call each other late at
night for me and we would you know just talk about just cries of the shoulders
how hard and difficult and how mean the tabloids can be and how they lie and
twist stories around but she came to concert at Wembley Stadium in London and
you know they do in Royal then we come get the lineup and he needs the
but at some point she called me away from the line and
[Music] and I saw his jaws looking me and I said
oh boy she said I want to talk to you I said yeah what's what's happening she
said are you gonna do Dirty Diana tonight that's it no no I took her out
of the show I respect for you she said that's my
favorite song I said are you serious I said I took it out I respect a lot
dirty diner in the ordinance so at that point I couldn't put it back in the show
because it was too close to Showtime so I remember Prince Charles leaving the
line walking over to us and he said what are you talking about and she said oh
nothing like that so that was Lester there's a couple of
other ones but I you know say too much she was just a wonderful warm
compassionate person very caring very caring it was real it wasn't a publicity
stunt it wasn't real she really came I'm the same way I feel the same way as she
does about children and the future of our dream in the future of the world
when I usually do on my off days I do as many hospitals as I do concerts and or
something orphanages I had two concerts but because it's good news the press
don't cover it they want bad news but I do it from my heart I don't do it the
way my flag and saying look at me we bring bags
and posters and albums and you should see how we're transforming these kids
they jump up and down and we're so happy this is sooo summery and myself at a
hospital in Budapest and I saw this little kid his his name was Farkas he
was very sick he was green in the face but he had this this glow and he's just
sparkling in his eye but asked his nurse was what's wrong with this kid
she said that he needs the learner so I said does that mean he's gonna die she
said yes he's got to die unless he gets a liver I said I'm not gonna let him die
the sweet sweet angel no matter what it takes I'm gonna find a liver for him so
I sent my organization around the world we went all over the place and it took a
long time and I said I'm not giving up I'm not gonna have this child die I was
so happy when I got a phone call they told me we found the liver and he has
his life sipar and I can help god bless I love
you Farkas coming up a road trip through the deep south with the Jackson family
here's my career mr. Jim one of Michael's short films gets completely
out of control
the Elizabeth Taylor gives us a rare glimpse of her special friendship with
Michael was life at home for Michael's children without the mask
all when Michael Jackson's private home movies became a pop pop close and
personal return
I found a tape that was really exciting because in truth I don't even know it
existed anymore in between tours we had a break and my brothers and I took my
mother to Alabama to visit their stepfather
well no way to salvation omics America
really don't matter Patito
I'm not going to the Salvation Army that fine things that I diseases have a blue
there's Michael we're looking for junk they know I like to go through
everything I'm very curious I go through drawers and go through everybody's
closets I don't steal would like to look and explore but what they got in there
might I love seeing the old colonial homes in the south I'd set this shot I'd
me remember us walking down
I have a food camera my hand a George this is my mother in the front and my
lady behind her is my mother's dead father's mistress she's funny
that's me look at the shacks I love this
hiding behind his mom hey Jackson's turn around what's my beef jerky we were
just exploring they live in those houses very interesting it's a whole different
way of life down there y'all tighten up
we love visiting uh people we don't know
and we try to get these kids to Bansi I do a little step and maybe he would join
in he got a little shy they have heard these kids have incredible rhythm but
they were shy in front of us the good eating down here are they
the a possum but I wouldn't I wouldn't have any because I knew it was in the
rodent family and they're very cute they got these little pink noses and big eyes
and and very inviting but I wouldn't want to eat one ha ha how far were you
been mister you been that's my mother stepfather papa uncle
Johnny I love the way they talk down there I keep speaking another language
doesn't it need a hand oh yeah sugar babe she helps take care
of uncle Johnny she loves to dance Tsugumi
uncle Johnny is truly a character and he had this drink called white lightning
and this drink was so strong is I'm not joking one sip will get you drunk it's
really strong my brother teal took a sip and he went Wow
I can't believe it but I stayed away from it but sugar baby that song that's
my fantasy all right let's go Papa nothing Joe a
bear hug and she was hiding in the house because she told us when it was time to
leave that she couldn't take it she's crying it's a deal brother out was a
wonderful experience it was just really phenomenal this is behind the scenes on
the back of white short film and that's gentle and is our director he's done so
many great feature films coming to America American Werewolf in London the
Blues Brothers he's done three of my short films and I always have a great
time working with John because he's a lot of fun you want more think about my
baby presentation so that the painting is beautiful I want to stay on it
Macaulay Culkin was also in the black/white team too
and John was always goofing off during stuff at us
here we are scheming to kind of pay John back for all the messing around that he
did to us on the set we had planned this Mac and I wavy for shooting film that we
would have a big pie fight at the end we have super soakers we have stink bombs
in the pies and and we waiting for General Anders to show up we're
practicing how we're gonna do it now of all I'm gonna say tion and appreciation
for working on this great video we just want to do knees gonna sneak I'm just
gonna keep talking until he sneaks up and he's gonna hit John with the first
pot it wasn't cuz I John John he's so excited I got John John yes the world
okay Appaji after he gets the first throw
everybody else you know something that
should make you form an appreciation for working on the black affiant short film
I'd like to say thank you and we love you and we think a job
Oh
I love it it could have gone on and on as far as I care
we're pranksters you need a check which I recognize
one day I get this car from Elizabeth Taylor saying she wants to come to the
ranch she flew out in this helicopter how are you I knew by the tone of her
voice that something was up but I had no idea how big the surprise was she came
out this huge elephant
that's what I was kind of scared - this thing is huge
eventually I got into it feeding carrots and stuff like that I love elephants
they're gentle giants war was dressed like a gypsy and that's why we named
elephant gypsy he was one of the best present that I've ever gone I was so
happy that day it was wonderful experience but what Elizabeth didn't
know that I was planning a surprise for her also
that's amazing [Music]
the gift that I gave Elizabeth to me was very unique it looks like a painting but
it isn't it's a tapestry this guy did it piece by piece
oh I never place for know I may have to build a house I think it was a shot for
one of her movies I'm saving you
if we have to explain the joke the last film the Michael song and he
thought I was really wonderful and was a dog called white usage over and I was
nine years old so he's can see me it's a girl I never speak
it wasn't quite as big as gypsy but I think she liked my gift as much as I
liked hers and what is it you're going to do working with Eddie Murphy
is so much fun because he keeps you laughing all day long he's just
naturally talented the guy's incredible as fun as 80 can be though there was one
moment in remember the time that had everyone laughing except Eddie that was
this big hunting bird over his right shoulder as he was sitting on the throne
next to a mine in the middle of the take the bird decided to take off and so did
Eddie when he realized that he was the only one who was scared
he thought he had some serious explaining to do because the mine didn't
move from the quarry but two ways to react in situation like that you can run
I'll be real still she's just being real stiff but she's as horrified as I am
west-east african see no evil go crazy be real still when he comes to Neverland
he has a good time an acoustic guitar in his hand and he scream and reggae songs
all through the house yeah just yelling he's just funny
he makes looks like any situation and make it funny
I mean that's his real gift wonderful I enjoyed working on
[Music]
coming up Michael and some friends take an all-night trip to a toy store if
you're sports you spent the night there I loved it I loved it so much fun
Macaulay Culkin and Michael hunt for buried treasure and turn a hotel into a
water balloon playground Plus never-before-seen footage of Michael and
his children
you've seen a lot of footage tonight of my life my Joy's my happiness you know
[Music] but what you're gonna see now is where
I'm most proud of what I think mike is really all about
[Music]
[Music] Oh
I love and adore my children they mean everything to me
when they're in public though I conceal their faces because I don't want to I
want my children are protected at home they have a normal life they play with
other kids and they have a good time they're laughing a lot you run around
there you go to school it's a normal life with them but in public I must
protect them
[Music] what are you gonna do a girl
[Music]
I'm a man since you taught me by starving
you are the son
that's what he likes food he didn't have I liked turrets no play
[Music]
my data
I love my children very much proud to be the dad

Paraphrase and Summary Video - Duration: 3:12.
Hello, and welcome to the Online Writing Center's guide to summary and paraphrase.
In this video, we'll talk about the purpose of paraphrase and summary,
the difference between the two strategies, and the rules for effectively rewording source material.
Summary and paraphrase are very important tools for any research writer.
Students often use summary and paraphrase to integrate information from sources
into their written assignments.
Whether the student chooses to summarize or to paraphrase,
both require that the student put the source material into his or her own words.
So what is the difference between paraphrase and summary?
Summary is when a writer takes a long passage and rewords it in a much shorter form.
Let's take a look at the example on the screen.
This is a paragraph-long source passage about the novel Pride and Prejudice.
This passage contains several pieces of information about the novel's publication date, genre, and themes.
The student has chosen to reword this passage in a much shorter version for inclusion in her research paper.
She writes, "The symbol of the estate plays a central role in Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice."
Summarizing the long passage allows her to focus on the information that is most relevant to her thesis.
Notice that she has also included an in-text citation.
Since paraphrase is also a rewording of source material, how is it different from summary?
When paraphrasing, the writer rephrases in a way that includes most or all of the information present in the source,
creating a reworded passage of similar length.
If the writer in the previous example had chosen to paraphrase instead of summarize,
she might have generated a passage like this one. The paraphrased passage fully rewords the source,
yet still includes the same information about publication, symbolism, and the use of estate as a symbol in the novel.
Again, an in-text citation is included.
Whether paraphrasing or summarizing, it's important to follow a few simple rules
in order to avoid plagiarism.
First, always transform the source into your own language so that it sounds like you
instead of the original author.
Second, even if you are doing a full paraphrase,
be sure to place your emphasis on those facts that are most relevant to your own thesis.
And finally, always cite your source.
Including an in-text citation is a way of giving credit to the researchers who provided your information
and is also necessary to avoid plagiarism.
To wrap up, in this video we learned the definitions of paraphrase and summary,
we learned how to use each one,
and we also covered the rules of effective rewording.

27-4031.00 - Camera Operators, Television, Video, and Motion Picture - Duration: 1:31.
Whether it's the silver screen of
1950s Hollywood
or the computer screen
and YouTube of today,
Americans have long carried a torch
for moving pictures.
When the director yells "Action"
the camera operator's eyes are
glued to the camera's lens,
making sure to catch everything.
There are three main types of
camera operators.
Studio camera operators work in broadcasting
and follow directions as part of an
ensemble production.
They film their subjects from a fixed position.
Cinematographers film motion pictures.
They determine the angles, lighting,
and types of equipment that will best capture
a shot.
Videographers may shoot special events,
such as weddings, or work with companies
to make corporate documentaries.
They typically edit their footage for clients.
Many videographers run their own businesses
or do freelance work.
Most camera operators
work full-time schedules,
but may have long, irregular hours
while filming.
Like anyone in the movie industry,
once filming wraps there's no guarantee
when the next opportunity will come along.
Camera operators may have to
stand for long periods,
and they may carry heavy equipment
wherever production happens,
which could be an office or a remote setting.
Camera operators must be creative,
detail-oriented, and effective communicators.
Camera operators typically need
a bachelor's degree
in a field related to film or broadcasting,
such as communications.
