The following demonstration will show commercial fishers how to submit a general catch and
effort report for the spanner crab northern component of their fishing business using
FisherMobile.
This demonstration assumes that you have submitted a post-land report for your spanner crab fishing.
On the home screen tap on the 'Catch & Effort' icon
This will open the 'New Catch & Effort Report' window.
Now tap on the 'Choose' button.
You will see existing pending activity reports for your fishing business and the corresponding
date.
Tap to select the pending fishing activity report that you wish to complete the catch
and effort report for.
The date is displayed and the fishing business number field has auto populated.
Tap on the 'Continue' button.
This will open the 'Select Fishing Activity' window.
Select the relevant post land report under the pending fishing activities list.
This will open the 'Events' window.
Next enter the details of your fishing event.
Tap on the endorsement field and select the Spanner Crab North endorsement type from the
available list.
Note: that the 'Method' and 'Type of location' fields have auto populated.
Then tap on the 'format of location' field.
This allows you to select either the 'Grid Site Code' or Lat/Long degree/minute'
format.
For this example the 'Grid Site code' has been selected.
Enter the location coordinates into the available fields.

If you fished in a marine park during the fishing event, select the 'I fished in a
marine park during this fishing event' by tapping the box.
Tap into the 'number of nets' field and enter the total number of nets lifted during
the fishing event (150 ). Next tap into the 'No of crew' field and
enter the number of crew.
(1) Now enter the LFB number of the boat used
during the fishing event.
To search for the LFB enter the name of the boat and select it from the available list.
(FishOnline Admin) Then tap on the green 'Done' button.
This opens the 'Report' window.
The next step is to enter the details of your catch.
Select the 'Enter Catch Information' option.
Then tap on the '+ New Catch' button.
Now tap into the 'Species' field and enter the code CRA-10 or enter the word 'Spanner'
and select the species code from the list.
Note: the processing method defaults to 'Unprocessed'.
Next tap into the 'processing method field' and select the processing method from the
available list.
In this example the product was 'unprocessed'.
Tap into the 'Weight' field and enter the weight of the unprocessed spanner crabs
to one decimal place.
(50.3 kg.)
Do not enter anything into the 'Units' field.
Now tap on the green 'Done' button.
You will now see the 'Catch' window.
Note: That once a species has been selected, it will be available as a short cut in the
'Catch' window for subsequent reports.
Review the details of the catch entered to ensure they are correct then tap on the green
'Done' button.
The next step is to enter the disposal information.
Select the 'Enter Disposal Information' option and then tap on the '+ New Disposal'
button.
This opens the 'disposal' window.
Tap into the 'Fish receiver / disposal' field and enter the fish receiver code or
fish receiver name.
For example (Ballina) and select the fish receiver from the available list.
Note: That once a receiver/disposal code has been selected, it will be available as a short
cut in the 'Disposal' window for subsequent reports.
In the 'Kilo', field enter the weight disposed of to one decimal place (50.3), and
then tap on the green 'Done' button.
The next step is to allocate the catch to the fishing event.
Select the 'Allocate Catch to Event' option.
As there is only one fishing event in this example, simply tap on the green 'Done'
button.
This will return you to the 'Report' window.
Now tap on the 'Submit' button.
A confirmation message will be displayed.
Read this confirmation message prior to tapping on the 'Confirm' button.
A message will be displayed indicating that your catch and effort report has been submitted
successfully with a transaction ID number for your records.
Tap on the 'OK' button to return to the home screen.
