Today in Military History: 5/05 - Desmond Doss rescues 75 casualties - Duration: 1:20.
- Today in military history, 1945.
US Army corporal Desmond Doss saved 75 men
at the Battle of Okinawa
all without the use of a weapon.
Desmond Doss, the first conscientious objector
in history to receive the Medal of Honor,
went through a lot just to get the opportunity
to serve his country.
Since he refused to even touch a rifle,
Doss had a tough time convincing his superiors
to let him stay in basic training,
let alone get shipped off to war.
Let's just say there were at least 75 men
that were glad the Army changed its mind.
On May 5th, at the Battle of Okinawa,
Doss single handedly saved 75 of his fellow soldiers
from the Japanese atop the Maeda Escarpment,
In a heavy tide turned by the Japanese
against the Americans,
Doss, unarmed and on his religious day of rest,
refused to retreat down the escarpment with his unit
and remained atop the 400 foot cliff
to tend to his wounded comrade.
Under heavy fire and advancement from the Japanese forces,
Doss lowered injured soldiers to safety
one by one using ropes.
On his Medal of Honor citation,
Desmond Doss is credited with saving 75 lives on that day.
May 5th, 1945.

I sold a bunch of my records a while ago
and I thought that I didn't have that many
but I was wrong
I can't really talk about each one in detail
I hope you can kind of see what music I like through this
I started collecting 10 years ago?
As you can see I didn't really go that crazy buying them
I really don't want to have as many as my comic books
so I only buy one a month
and I try my best to only buy things I really like
although that rule came into place last year, so there are some that I'm not super into
AFI

AFI's 2nd and 3rd album
This is around the time when they were still kind of a Misfits cover band (maybe not so much on their 3rd)
I feel like compared to the Misfits
they're not as aggressive
What's aggressive in Japanese ?
*pretty much the same XD*
they lack the aggressiveness of the Misfits
I was actually going to sell them
but I gave them one last listen
and I still enjoyed them, so I ended up keeping them

This is a 12 inch single
All is band that came after the Descendents
the lead singer of the Descendents (Milo)
left the band to go to college
The rest of the band went on with a new vocalist and called themselves All (named after the last Descendents album at the time)
they're vocalist has changed a bunch of times
this is definitely my favorite song by them
I also have the album (CD) the song is on somewhere

The Ataris is definitely one of my favorite bands from my youth
I only need End Is Forever to complete their albums
They did put an album out after this one
I pretend that one doesn't exist
If you like pop punk I think you'll enjoy any of their albums
maybe you can skip the first one
I highly recommend these two (if you like pop punk)
Beastie Boys Ill Communication
This is my favorite
or second favorite album by them
Do I like Paul's Boutique more? I like really like Check Your Head too
Anyway it's a great album
btw this has Sabotage on it, which has been used in pretty much all of the new Star Trek movies XD

Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band
If you're a music lover, you definitely need to listen to this
it's actually not my favorite Beatles album
my favorite is The White Album

I got this one at thrift store for a 100yen too
I think it's a soundtrack to a movie? of the same name
I haven't seen it so I'm not sure
it has covers, orchestral versions of songs and stuff
My favorite song is No One Is Innocent
the song is played by two members of the Sex Pistols
and sung by a wanted British criminal
it's actually pretty good
you should listen to it if you've never heard and are a Sex Pistols fan

If you're a Star Wars fan, I feel like you should own a copy

Ok, so back to the business. This is for bosses and also everyone who work with other people.
I've been an entrepreneur for over 15 years and in the working life for 25 years, wait 30 years. I started with my first job when I was about 12 to 14.
I earned my pay check and first bank account when I was a paperboy in Lahti, Finland. I saved up and bought a Mickey Mouse game and the rest went to small vendace treat.
I really liked them when I was younger. I also spread a newsletter of a communist party in Lahti when I was a child. I got a bit of pocket money from that.
Money I earned always lasted for about 5 minutes on my bank account.
Ok, finally! This goes to all the leaders. Every person wants to do their best. We're built that way. If you have any challenges in leadership, every person wants to succeed.
Your thing is how well are you going to give people the opportunity to thrive. Are you supportive or not? We're living in a world where our ability to regenerate in the face of technology matters a great deal.
All the apps are constantly being updated, new processes are made, nobody can do anything. Nobody has a clue what to do with anything,
Because all of a sudden Microsoft Word is in the cloud. Or on our phone. Suddenly the new operating system was updated. We can't know everything immediately.
What is means to you as a boss? Just remember that people are always trying their best. They want to learn, be able to and succeed.
Your job is to help them with their everyday lives to move forward.
