VEGAS Pro Tutorial - How To Import Video with Transparent Background [Enable Alpha Channel] - Duration: 1:56.

Hey this is Eduard Stinga from VideoPlasty

And in this short tutorial video, I wanna show you how you can import videos with transparent

background in VEGAS Pro

It actually doesn't happen automatically, you need to change a setting manually for

that to happen

But it's super, super simple

So, here we have a clip in MOV format with PNG codec, so it has an Alpha Channel

I'm just gonna drag & drop it here

And no, I don't wanna change the settings

So, so far it's just a black background, you don't know if the background is transparent,

but we know it's transparent because I exported from After Effects

So the way to check that is by going to Media Generators and...

Let's just add a Solid Color behind it, so let's say this ugly blue background

So as you can see here, we already know Vegas didn't import it with a transparent background

And the way you do that is actually super simple

You just have to right click here on the timeline, go to Properties

You actually right click on the video, not on the timeline

Go to Properties, go to the Media tab here in the middle

And here on the bottom where it says Alpha Channel

You wanna select Premultiplied

And let's click OK

And there you have it!

It's actually super easy, it only takes a couple of seconds, but unfortunately, you

have to do it manually in VEGAS Pro
