In the next 60 seconds I'm going to show
you how to create light leaks for
some cool lens effects and transitions.
The first method is an in-camera
technique called lens whacking where you
just disconnect the lens from the camera
and shoot holding it right in front of
the sensor. And this is kind of sketchy
because your sensor is exposed so just
be very careful not to get anything
inside of your camera. It's very easy to
add digital light leaks to your still
photos by using a gradient. Just set one
side to be black and the other side to
be the color that you want the light
leak to be. Then just set that gradient
to an add blend mode and adjust the
opacity. Adding a digital light leak to
your videos isn't quite the same because
the effect needs to move. But it's okay
because there are plenty of free light
leak elements that you can download
online. Just put one over your video, set
it to an add blend mode, and you're good
to go. That's all for this 60 second
tutorial, keep creating, and I'll see you
in the next one.
