I chose SMC because of the endless possibilities that the school offers.

From clubs, programs, the faculty, the staff.

Everyone is really here to help you.

SMC changed my life be giving me the platform to be who I was.

SMC is taking me to USC as a communications major in the Annenberg School for Communication

and Journalism.

SMC is a different environment from where I grew up from.

So I was like "Hey you know what?

Let's meet new people!".

And they also have really high transfer rates.

So I'm heading to UCLA as a major in art history, minor in public affairs.

So I came here at a time in my life when I wasn't sure what I wanted to do and I really

lacked motivation and I was coming out of high school.

I wanted to have a fresh start at a university or a college that had a lot of extracurricular

opportunities, lots of space for growth, so I decided SMC would be the best place for

that.

I'm headed to UCLA.

I'm an anthropology major and I have hopes to also get my Ph.D in anthropology and then

later go to law school and study human rights and international law.

I came to SMC because I perceived that the school had a holistic education system that

could provide me with a multiplicity of opportunities.

SMC changed my life by providing me with an avenue where I could see a variety of viewpoints

in this very divers school.

Because of SMC, I'm going to be a Bruin this fall.

I want to extend a special welcome to the parents and friends of the graduating class

of 2018!

Your Faculty challenge you to take the passions that you developed and exercised here at SMC

with all of us and let them radiate as beams of magnanimous joy everywhere you go.

Through the fabric of your communities creating bonds of strength, solidarity, and love.
