What will be happening?
ARTiculating Deaf Experiences the sign is "taking the heart out"
This Conference will focus on examining lit. and art about Deaf experiences.
Who will be attending the ARTiculating Deaf Experiences Conference?
Published authors, playwrights, filmmakers, poets,
students, Deaf Cultural Studies professors, Sign Language teachers, and more.
Where will the conference be?
Here at NTID, one of the colleges of RIT
Also, there will be some events at a museum called the Memorial Art Gallery (MAG).
And where is here?
ROCHESTER, NY
How? What kind of events to expect at this ARTiculating Deaf Experiences conference?
There will be many different events taking place.
There will be an exhibit in the Dyer Arts Center.
There will be a De'VIA exhibit at the museum downtown.
There will be workshops in a variety of places,
keynote addresses and presentations,
different film screenings to view,
Theatrical stage productions to watch,
receptions and a banquet, and much more.
Why are we hosting this conference?
The First and Second National ASL Literature Conferences were hosted here.
They were both very well attended and people have been asking for more.
Hence, we are hosting in 2019.
Plus, 2019 will be the 30th anniversary of De'VIA
and the 10th anniversary of Surdism.
Come, come, come.
