Wayne, PA: A Video Tour - Duration: 3:45.

Hi, I'm Jennifer LeBow and I'm a realtor here on Philadelphia's Main Line. I

specialize in helping buyers who are relocating here from other areas. I

realize how hard it is to get a sense of the different fields of our Main Line

towns when you're just looking at a map or even property listings online, so I

thought it might be helpful to take you on a few little mini tours of our

Main Line communities and give you an overview of the different towns and a

look up and down some of the streets. So let's go!

So, what is Wayne like? Wayne is one of the Main Linetowns that lies in three

different townships: Tredyffrin-Easttown and Radnor are both among the best

school districts in the state and Upper Merion and Tredyffrin-Easttown have much

lower taxes than Radnor. For some buyers, either school district or taxes can be a

key factor in home choice, so be aware of this detail when you're looking at

properties in Wayne. Wayne has a thriving town center as well as two train

stations. If you're driving down Lancaster Avenue (route 30) after you pass

Villanova University and then Radner high school you'll arrive in Wayne here

you'll find the boutique-y Wayne Hotel, the historic Anthony Wayne movie theater

and lots of upscale retail including Anthropology and Lululemon. There are

lots of good dining options as well. Whatever you're looking for as far as

shopping or restaurants, you're sure to find it here.

Wayne is home to the beautiful Chanticleer garden as well as the Radnor

Trail which is enjoyed by bikers, dog walkers and joggers. People also like the

access to the King of Prussia Mall and several golf courses in the area. Wayne

is home to many private educational institutions including Valley Forge

Military Academy with its beautiful campus.

if Airport access is important to yo,u Ravenscliff might be what you're

looking for. Mostly stucco French colonial homes populate this development

and residents say the lot sizes are just right: not too big, not too small. The

western section of Wayne offers a wide variety of price points an array of

sizes and styles of homes. One of the most popular Wayne neighborhoods is the

Shand Tract. Here you'll find people walking in the neighborhood, at least one

book club and a strong feeling of community. It offers easy access to

Lancaster Avenue, but is away from the hubbub. The Deepdale area is similar to

the Shand Tract, if a bit more affordable. In general, these homes are a little more

modest in size and a bit older. Both neighborhoods are very family-friendly

and neither has a "development" feel. In north Wayne, you'll find the Gateway

Shopping Center and the Glenhardie section, which is just beyond Valley

Forge elementary and middle schools. the older area of Glenhardie near the golf

course has larger homes while the adjacent streets features slightly

smaller houses. Some are split-levels here but there are colonials too. Treyburn

Highgate and Denbeigh are newer developments in the

Upper Merion section of Wayne. If you prefer newer construction, consider these

communities. In Radnor Township, you'll find The Woods, which is mostly French

colonial stucco homes and very secluded. The surrounding neighborhood is fairly

wooded and also has that quiet "away from it all" feel. A very special section of

Wayne is the oldest area around Glen Mary Rd. It has a bit of an English

hamlet feel, but it's centrally located. It's a great combination of charm and

convenience; homes here don't come up for sale all that often. Wayne straddles

three townships which has a big effect on value, as taxes and school district

are tied to Township. Southern Wayne has great access to the airport via route

476, while the area surrounding Lancaster Avenue provides great train and shopping

access. Figure out which things matter most to you and you're likely to find a

home in Wayne that you love!
