Waching daily Jan 5 2018

Namaste.

Well it's after lunch, again nice big lunch you don't go hungry for lunches.

Lunch, tea, sit in the sun,

yep.

40 minutes rest and then it's off again,

and as predicted the downward hike has stopped.

We crossed the river at the bottom,

now, we're going back up again.

But, I think we've got ahead of the lunchtime rush,

walking to this beautiful forested area, at the moment.

Not a soul in sight, it's beautiful.

Have a look around,

so nice to have it quiet.

Got a scene over there, on the path

that's where I'm heading down, oh sorry did I say down?

That's where I'm heading, up around that corner

and there's just, no one here,

it's lovely.

So beautiful.

How am I holding up?

Well, oops

not controlling the camera well,

I do have wrong with camera batteries, so I do apologize if a couple of these episodes are a bit shorter than normal

because

I'm having trouble

charging batteries. Yesterday I used three of my four batteries, and only got half of one charged yesterday

which meant I started this morning with one and a half full batteries.

Yeah, I know. Now I did also at lunch time

manage to get some charge in a battery, so I'm back to one and a half batteries with half a day to go.

But I desperately need, need to get charge in the camera batteries tonight. I've got four in total,

it's not going to be enough if I can't charge every night,

so

I'm going to try and keep filming down to the minimum and only film the really great stuff.

It's so difficult to do, there's so much to film so much to see, I don't want you guys to miss out. Fine. Okay well

I'll get what I can get and I'll show it to you in the meantime. Let's enjoy this peace and quiet.

This is the way to go.

Somewhere around that mountain.

We're not even halfway yet,

from the whole trek not today.

In the last hour of trekking today, that's really nice

My legs could do with a rest.

Survived another day, just.

Well, no, I did survive it more than just I mean I survived it, but the day isn't quite finished yet

I've got maybe another half an hour, hour hiking left but we're on the last leg of the day and as you can see

we're heading into that beautiful scene,

we're heading somewhere down in the valley down there.

It, uh, yes down, we did do some up today who did a majority of down and

because

the huge mountains have huge valleys between them and

to get over the mountains and round the mountains you have to skirt around the edges

I don't know if you can see, but there's a tiny little path skirting around the edge of that mountain

that's where I'm going tomorrow.

Yes so to go up to the higher peaks, to what's called ABC which is Annapurna Base Camp,

that's where I'm heading for my last night of my highest altitude before start coming down again,

you have to go up up like we did the first days, then down mostly

today into the valley down again tomorrow then around the mountain up a little bit

then I think it's a bit up and down the next day, and then it's the big day up to the base camp.

But been a pleasant day I

got my second wind shortly after breakfast, managed the ups and the downs

with a few rests, a few snacks, some lunch,

cuppa tea here and there, a couple of stops for photographs.

But I'm feeling okay now, although my legs and my feet are definitely telling me

they're exercising more than normal.

But I'm gonna do it.

I am gonna do it, I am gonna get into the snowy peaks that's where I'm going and you are coming with me.

Come on.

It's the end of the day,

Yeah, I know, crazy idea hiking and trekking isn't it?

As it is,

the last shot of daylight hours as the sun dissappears behind the mountain.

I don't know if you can see it but just peeking in there

you can just if you look carefully, is the annapurna peak just sneaking through there. Honest it is.

Carefully, well hopefully it'll maybe clear out later, and I'll show you some more shots of it.

I'm gonna take these shoes off and get a shower.

I just realized I didn't film the room for you.

So here it is, sorry about the mess.

It's a nice clean tidy room it has a power socket, and I've got a battery on to charge, so I'm charging like crazy

that's good news. There's my bed with all the mess over it.

Sorry about that, and

a bathroom, which apparently has a hot shower and a toilet.

It's a hot shower I'm interested in.

So there we go

and there's I've just dumped everything

put on some fresh shoes, some fresh clothes, and then I'm out

to see if I can get some sunset

or some

action on that mountain.

So steamed Momo so tasty and filling and let's hope we're not too spicy this evening, lets eat up.

Just for the record this spice tonight it's

steaming my ears off. I know it's cold here

if I get cold in the night I'll just eat the tiniest bit of this

my eyes are watering and I really can feel my ears are steaming.

And my throat, I've lost my voice.

I'm actually going to try to water it down with tomato ketchup because the sauce is really nice.

But oh my goodness.

Some of the spices I've had have been mildly spicy, but this...

must be because we're above the snow line.

Anyway lets eat up.

I think this definitely marks a moment in YouTube history because I'm pretty sure

This has never hopefully happened to anyone on YouTube ever. Hey guys. What's up, it is Victoria x Rave here

Today, I'm making a video about logan Paul, and I swore I was not gonna get video about it

I do this every single time. There's some trending thing. I'm like

I'm not making a video about that, but I feel like in this case

It's so big, and it's still prevalent on YouTube

Which is my career?

It feels like it's okay to get into the world of the world of YouTube because it's very interesting. I have two very very different

Opinions on it not that anybody cares about that needs to know my opinions on the matter

It's so it's so ridiculous, though

The whole thing is so ridiculous

And what in what all of social media is even like come to a logan paul is?

Huge if you guys don't know who look impalas at this point, then like where are you?

You went to the suicide forest which a lot of youtubers have done. They actually found the dead body

Because you're never going to see a video like this in front of people per year

Do we just find a dead person in the suicide forest, we're gonna be interesting though

it's like the whole thing was like set up logan Paul is very flamboyant about his vlogging and

Everything has to be huge and mer and it's all about click baiting. That's why he's huge

There are lines that get crossed and whenever you become a

huge youtuber or even midsize youtuber there can be something that you do as a human that is going to ruin your career or

Make people loathe you because whenever you are human

He's just a normal guy that got huge on YouTube whenever you get here than YouTube especially when you're daily vlogging

Fame doesn't really change you it exposes you you're gonna see the flaws of your

Human miss you as a human you may not be big on YouTube and nobody can see your flaws and your mistakes

But nobody's there to witness it so they won't hate you but everybody can see this, and then there's a like

That's just the the downside of being like a huge youtuber

I'm I have a lot of friends

And I have it happened to so many people that I know I want to start off by saying with everybody

You have to realize we are only human

I'm not defending anybody what he did was let's go get into that

But we make mistakes because someone made a mistake and you say wow you're the worst person in the whole world you don't deserve to

Be alive that's just as bad as what he did young guys make a lot of stupid mistakes

He was very cold about the situation. He did not handle it the right way nobody is perfect and nobody handles things

How do person like they should especially remember you're a big youtuber? He has had to compromise values

I'm sure in a lot of his vlogs and what he doesn't like that's how it is in show business

There's a lot of pressure on people people do stupid things they do stupid things

So I'm taking that into consideration with the whole situation

I just wanted to say that I don't think anyone deserves condemnation for being a flawed human being but also my actual

Reactions I don't know how anybody would have thought that that would have been a good idea yes

He like had bad. Judgment blah blah bad if I'd do the SUBSCRIBE

It's YouTube my stuff gets demonetised or age-restricted, and it's just like me like doing at Ryan Hall

He showed a dead body sad person that killed themselves their hands like that's disturbing

It's very very disturbing sure you can find that kind of stuff online, but on YouTube take cajas

I've met a lot of logan Paul's fans

They are so young suicide is a very touchy subject should not be like showed in this way. It's it's so sad every youtuber

I feel like true it kind of comes to an end if they're doing like big

Type of things because like everything has to top the next thing one day they do this

Oh, my gosh next day. It has to be even bigger than that and bigger and bigger. Where's it?

Where's the end point? You know like? What's the end goal?

You can only do so much before you make a huge mistake

Somebody youtubers have to make these apology videos and like they're probably written by somebody else like there's like memes and stuff going around like

Other people are just as cooled online. I mean but as a big youtuber

You can't there are certain unspoken rules about being a youtuber

That's another point that I want to make that like you have to

Understand that you could get in if you do something wrong on YouTube. Everybody's gonna know about it

I mean he has full team working for him

How did nobody say like hey this might not be a very good idea probably shouldn't upload this one Logan

I feel like the appropriate way would have been to like okay. You been to the forest you found it, buddy

Don't film the dead body

I mean That's I am I don't know how he thought that YouTube was even like that would even be okay, that was just insane

I don't know like the two things. I really want to say about it. Is that number one

He's human. Flock human make mistakes number two why is he wearing a stupid hat did you order ug like an apple?

Oh, you're like a doctor an apple a day keeps the doctor away

You dummy number three who's been replaced logan Paul people don't like him right now probably another person

That's gonna Probably get really big and then make a really big mistake and that

But those are kind of my thoughts in the situation III don't think that

Logan Paul is the worst human being ever I think he's a young guy who made a mistake in his judgment obviously

I think it was very

Disrespectful to a human life the way

He was acting about it and also I feel like that level of Fame can corrupt your judgment

Whenever you become that big whenever you are doing daily vlogs and whenever you're whenever

You're always trying to get like the next biggest clickbait

I feel like it takes away a little bit of your soul and your empathy

And you just see things as dollar signs

And I feel like that's probably what happened in this whole situation and that's sad in itself double. It's just a double sad situation

That's kind of my whole thought on it

I wanted to kind of make a video about it because it is trending it's very relevant

And I feel like we need to be more aware as human beings like just in general like care about other people I have met

a lot of youtubers a lot of

Relatively big youtubers and a lot of them do get kind of cold you get kind of cooled and you just see the dollar science

And everything and it's a very dangerous place to be in we have to remember that there are real human beings in this world that

Need love that we need to be epithet

Ik towards that we need to have consideration for as a youtuber myself

Sometimes even I like struggle with this we have to care about people like I want to treat others the way that I'd like to

Be treated

I want to be that type of person and this this person who died unfortunately was not treated with respect

But I also see it as also loan apologies to another flawed human

And that's kind of the mindset that I take on life

And I kind of want to share that mindset with you guys and encourage you to see everyone as

Equally flawed and like people some people have like worse issues than others, but we all are full of issues

Honestly, if you guys are sad, and I do have people who are suicidal in my life

It is tragic and you feel helpless as their friend and life this leg can be really really sad

But just treat people with kindness and love

That's all I really wanted to say I know I've rambled on for so long about this

I know it. Just made me kind of sad

For OpenAIR2018 nonprofits - make a video! - Duration: 5:00.

Hello and Happy New Year to all the nonprofits NGOs and artists that have

signed up to be a part of Knowbility's OpenAIR 2018 hackathon! So, the big

kickoff event is in just a few weeks. It's on February 8th and it's in Austin

Texas. Myself or somebody else from Knowbility is going to contact you and

let you know how you can access the event online, how you can view the event

and see what happens. Or, if you're in Austin, Texas you are absolutely welcomed

to come to the event yourself. I won't be there because I'm actually based in

Portland Oregon. The kickoff event is where organizations and artists are

matched with their web design teams and it's where the web design teams find out

who you are. I'm making this video because I want to encourage you to make

a similar video that's going to be shown at the kick-off event. It can be 30

seconds or even a minute long but please no more than that. And in your video we

want you to introduce your nonprofit or to introduce yourself as an artist and

introduce yourself to your design team. The video can be just one person or, if

you're a non-profit, it can be your entire staff standing behind you, kind of

like Han Solo is behind me now. In this video you should say your mission

statement and where you are in the world and maybe a statement that you're really

excited to be a part of the OpenAIR hackathon with Knowbility. ((cat sound)) ((Speaking to unseen cat)) Come in I'm

making a video. ((talking to camera)) That was my cat. Or if you're an artist we would really love it

if you would introduce yourself say your name, and if you're a visual artist maybe

have some of your work behind you, or if you're performing artists maybe perform

a little bit. You can throw in a clip from one of your performances or do it

right there live on the video. But please, again, your video needs to be just 30

seconds to a minute. If I represented a nonprofit called

"Travel for Good," my video might be something like this: ((fade out and then back in)) Hi, I'm Jayne Cravens

I'm in Portland, Oregon, and I run a nonprofit called Travel for

Good. Our nonprofit helps people choose ethical volunteering opportunities that

help people in high poverty areas here in the US and abroad. We also help people

choose ethical volunteering opportunities to work with animals here

and abroad. And we are so excited to be a part of this event and to get a website

that is going to welcome absolutely everybody!! ((fade out and back in)) By the way I do not have a

use any smartphone to make your video. You can use a laptop. I've used my laptop

that's in my home office. You can use props. You can dance. You can stand in

front of your organization's logo. You can have a group of employees standing

behind you waving. You can keep it as simple as you'd like. Just please

remember: 30 seconds to a minute long, no more. Just email me as soon as you're

done with your video and I will give you information on how you can share it with

me. We haven't determined how best to do that yet so just make the video and then

let me know you've completed it. If you really do not know how to do this, if you

do not know how to make a video, email me and I will do my best to recruit a

volunteer that will help you do this. One of the things you can do is you can

email all of your current volunteers you can have your employees talk to all of

their family members, particularly the teenagers!, and ask them if they have a

smartphone that will record video and they could make the video for you. I

know that on a Mac every Mac comes with video editing software.

I have an old Mac from 2009 that I prefer to use to edit videos on.

Just look around, you should be able to find something absolutely free that you

already have. So, that's it! Please email me and let me know when your video is

done. Let's set a deadline of February first for videos to be done or for you

to let me know that there's just absolutely no way you can do this video.
