IMS 201 Video Project - Duration: 3:25.

Hi everyone, I'm Dora, and today we're

going on an adventure to the World Wide

Web, but first I have to find my way to a computer.

Let me pull up my map.

That map won't work. Try this one.

What is this?

It's an e-book called Cyberphobia and the Fear Of.

You'll be seeing lots of these when you

dive into the Internet.

Before you go onto the Internet you need to learn

about Internet security.

Great, thanks Boots! I can start reading it now.

Hey, Boots, I just finished this chapter

about the history of Internet security.

There's a lot of really interesting

things that happened, things like the

ARPANET was made, then there was phone tapping,

credit-card fraud at Target

I love shopping at Target!!

But that really sucks. Then Edward Snowden lived in exile

because he disgraced America.

It's really cool.

That's cool. What's the next chapter about?

It's called "The Pros of Internet Security."

Oh, I know that one.

Some of the positives of the Internet security

is that it protects your

personal information, it prevents hackers

from stealing your data, and it also

prevents viruses from entering your system.

This is an especially important

chapter because we need to watch

ourselves some predators like Swiper.

I'm Swiper and I've always trying to hack

into people's email accounts and steal

their banking information to take their money.

You better watch out!!

Swiper no swiping!!

So I just finished chapter three which explained that the

Internet security has some drawbacks.

There are things like it's not very comprehensive,

it gives you a false sense of security,

it's less developed outside the US, and

it doesn't protect against human error.

The Internet actually sounds kind of scary.

Cyberphobia. It explains it in-depth in

chapter four. Cyberphobia is

the irrational fear of the Internet.

It is, one form of cyberphobia is

cyberbullying and some symptoms include

headaches, sweating, shaking, and nausea.

And some treatments are slow introduction

of the Internet and also

tutorials by others.

Phew, that's relief.

Ha Ha Ha! This computer's unprotected.

I can swipe some personal information

when no one's looking!

Swiper no swiping!!

No! The passwords have all been changed. I can't get

into this account anymore.

Wow, that was really close. I think you should read the

final chapter of our e-book. It's about being

secure on the web and it will give

you lots of hints for protecting

yourself from malicious people like Swiper.

I'll read it now.

Boots, I just finished the last chapter of the e-book

It's called "How to be safe on the Internet."

It includes things like the importance

of Internet security, how could we

protect Internet security, and the

history of the internet security.

It's really interesting.

Wow, Dora, great job! You finished the e-book.

Well, I finished the e-book now.

Congratulations! Now you can get your own computer.

Awesome! I'm so happy I learned

how to be secure on the Internet.

Look at all these computers!

We found the Internet!

Woo!

Today we went on an adventure

to find the Internet, but first we had to

go through a book about Internet security.

What was your favorite part of the trip?

That was my favorite part, too.

Have a good day!

technical teachers to create some

instructional videos. You might have to

drop your camera down a little bit more

- we try to address the skills that

everybody's going to need to know

whether it's jump-starting the car or

fixing a flat tire. I have this

project because you get these different

types of shots. You're going to set up on a

wide shot. Get some new video and work with

different mics and it's always a fun experience.

learn now they're teaching others and
