Hey RAD Company and welcome to another wonderful zombie's video!
After last week's hype we have found ourselves back in a lull with zombie news.
Today I wanted to clear up the timeline issues in the comics and suggest what Treyarch might
do with three comics to go!
The original summary for the comics reads "Join Stuhlinger, Misty, Russman, and Marlton
as they fight for survival against the undead horde.
The Tranzit crew, last seen in the "Buried" map, are trapped on a deeply unstable and
fractured future Earth.
The Call of Duty®: Zombies miniseries delves into these characters' backstories, providing
a crucial piece of the Zombies puzzle.
See what happens between the maps as the Tranzit crew fights to escape Maxis's apocalyptic
wasteland."
Now what causes constant confusion in the community is the phrase "last seen in buried".
What that is referring to is the last time we the players saw these characters.
The summary concludes with "the transit crew fights to escape Maxi's apocalyptic
wasteland" which is referring to the events after Moon.
If you recall Maxis is the one who launched the rockets to destroy earth.
Once those rockets landed we have unaccounted time before the first comic.
Somehow our 4 characters in the Tranzit crew meet up inside the city in the first comic
book.
It is unclear if any of the events from black ops 2 have occurred in this version of the
Tranzit crew.
What we do know is Stew is talking to someone in his head.
We assume it is Richtofen, but there is no confirmation because they only refer to the
voice in Stew's head as "his friend".
In black ops 2 they normally referred to the voice as the "German voice" referring
to Richtofen.
In the comic, we do know this is not one of the buried end games because of the state
of our characters and world.
We do not have metoers raining from the sky from Maxis or Richtofen's doomed world because
the characters are still actively seeking out quest objects.
There are no mentions of any of the events we experienced in Black ops 2 , which leads
us to believe they didn't happen in this timeline.
What is even more interesting is the fact that the comic book series started with narration
from who we believe to be Richtofen.
It would seem Origin's Richtofen has read the Kronrioum and is trying to get our Tranzit
characters to help him stop the zombies.
By the end of the third comic it seems the action of giving their blood snaps their timeline
to a saved world momentarily.
The blood was required for the ending of Revelations or possibly some other use that hasn't been
shown to us yet.
In summary, the comics pick up after the Moon ending when our 4 Tranzit characters have
already met one another.
They are currently on a quest from a voice in Stew's head to retrieve a crystal to
power cryochamber looking machines to take their blood.
Currently we have three more comics to go that will most likely follow our Tranzit crew
until the end, but we might see some cross over from the original crew in the 6th comic.
The next description reads "Marlton, Misty, Russman, and Stuhlinger think they've found
a moment's peace, but the approaching horde of zombies is about to destroy that.
Faced with the decision of fight or flight, the crew argues and splits up.
When Maxis's emergency security measures are activated, will it be every man for himself?".
What's interesting about that description is we get the quick answer to our previous
ending, we did not stop the zombies, but we get to find out about Maxis's emergency
security.
Why would Maxis have emergency security for this type of situation?
What would he be trying to prevent our characters from doing?
Are we going to find a more sinister plan or clear connection to the children?
I'm very interested in the direction of these comics because they have the potential
to set things right.
As described in my previous video about DLC 5 it is very possible we could get remastered
maps that could have slightly different endings to the easter eggs that legitimize everything
in Black Ops 3.
For more details check out the link to that video in the cards or description.
How this comic book series ends is going to directly impact zombies for the next year.
The big build up is the prospects of a DLC 5 reveal because of all the remake loading
screens we have been getting throughout the comic book season.
I personally would not get my hopes up for the remake.
That may sound confusing, but this is my stance on a DLC 5.
I think it makes financial sense for Activision and Treyarch to make a DLC 5, I think it makes
sense from the fans stand point for there to be a DLC 5, but Treyarch is working on
their next game and they never release extra DLC.
I think their studio isn't interested in continuing Black Ops 3 right now if the decision
is only up to the developers.
The only way we would get a DLC 5 is if Activision forces Treyarch to do it like they did with
weapons drops in micro-transactions.
Activision forced Treyarch to implement the awful micro-transaction system that ended
up blocking features of the game behind paywalls.
Activision only seems to care about the bottom line profit and a DLC 5 would make them a
lot of money.
But, history has shown this has happened in the past.
Treyarch never delivers an extra DLC no matter the rumors.
This could be due to the shorter development cycles or possibly the state of the Call of
Duty franchise in past years.
As a quick side note, Call of Duty is still the best-selling franchise in all of video
games.
Call of Duty is the number 1 selling game every year for the past eight years.
Activision is not hurting for money, but they are always looking to grow because many of
their investments don't pan out.
In conclusion, I am hopeful for a DLC 5, but I don't think we will ever get it.
With that said there is still so much to be excited for in terms of the story for the
comics.
Treyarch seems to be up to their old virial marketing where they create a slow burn of
excitement for the next installment of zombies.
I imagine we will getting announcements of what Treyarch has been planning in May or
June if we are going to hear anything at all before their next Call of Duty release.
I hope we do see the story take on a linear direction soon in a universe that is looking
to save the rest from zombies.
I am hoping we can move on from our Primis group, Origins group, and Tranzit group to
new characters or a finale to the Moon crew.
I think it's more than overdue to end this story.
It will be told over a decade long span when the next game releases.
This should be our last hooray for zombies.
I believe the comics are going to set up the end.
Revelations might even make more sense by the end of the comic series.
What do you think Treyarch's big plot twist will be to end the comic book series?
Do you think we will get another flop like Revelations or will Treyarch deliver?
I can see the end of these comics being Richtofen getting the Kronorium or the Tranzit characters
setting up Dr. Monty for something in the next game.
Honestly, I am just disappointed that nothing really came of Samantha in Black Ops 3.
It seems that Black Ops 1 was about Sam, Black Ops 2 was Richtofen, and Black Ops 3 was Maxis
and Dr. Monty.
Let's wrap up this story about these characters to get back to more fun in zombies.
