THE NEW META - Destiny Weapon Tier List | Best Weapons To Use In Destiny - Duration: 18:44.

Today I will be talking about what I believe to

be the strongest weapons in the latest iteration of Destiny.

In this video I will present them in different tiers to represent their power relative to

each other.

These tiers go from S to D, S being the best and D being the worst and in this video I

intend to cover the best weapons, the A-tier and S-tier Weapons.

In addtion to that I will also provide some stats and testing results to justify each

weapons' placing.

Note that the weapons in each tier are in no specific order.

With that being said, this is my opinion, based in facts and testing, as well as my

own experience.

A TIER - Starting off this list, we will be taking a look at the A-Tier.

The weapons in this category are by no means weak.

They are definetely strong and deserve to be respected.

However, they aren't competitive and can't perform as well, or as relliably as weapons

on the S-Tier do.

First up in the A-Tier we have the SUROS Regime.

After the latest update, a Focused Fire SUROS deals 36 damage per shot, meaning that it

can kill in 6 shots.

However, its very slow rate of fire is what hinders this weapon the most.

The high movement speed of Destiny's characters should always be taken in consideration and,

in practical cases, an enemy guardian will be able to escape the Suros and, should he

have a Sniper Rifle, he can fire back and kill you, even if under fire, since the SUROS

fires so slowly.

The SUROS Regime simply cannot keep up to pace.

Furthermore, its recoil isn't really desirable of a precision that should be used at longer

distances.

The SUROS Regime should be treated as more of a Suppression type weapon that assists

his fireteam from a distance.

It does its job well, but only as long as it stays away from CQC.

What makes Suros Regime stand out from the rest is its line of perks which makes it deal

more damage and, therefore having a faster Time To Kill, although not by a lot, than

the other low Rate Of Fire Auto Rifles.

Next up on the A-Tier we have another very specific weapon, and that is the Genesis Chain.

Now, you'll have to forgive me but unfortunately I don't have this weapon so I don't have any

gameplay of it.

However, a fellow Youtuber by the name of Drewskys made a really good video explaining

in great detail why the Genesis Chain is the Auto Rifle with the fastest TTK in the game.

I will leave a link on screen and in the description for you to see it.

And, while you're at it, consider subscribing to his channel, as he produces great quality

content and provides very good tips for you to improve.

Next up on the list are the low Rate Of Fire Pulse Rifles of the 30 Impact and 59 Rate

Of Fire Category, namely the Parthian Shot and the Spare Change.

These Pulse Rifles are capable of killing in just 2 bursts, dealing 34 Damage per shot.

However, this feat is only possible against low armor Guardians and is also very difficult

to pull off due to the speedy nature of the Crucible.

However, at long distances, these weapons are a fantastic tool to pick off enemies and

to counter Sniper Rifle users due to the flinch provided by these weapons.

However, they lack close range power.

If you miss a shot, you increase your time to kill exponentially, even with the recent

Rate Of Fire buff, and can end up being killed instead.

This is a precision weapon and because of that, doesn't see a lot of play, despite the

recent update.

The Doctrine Of Passing is surely a name that you have heard if you have played Destiny

in Year 2 and its archetype, the Low Impact of 2 and max Rate of Fire Auto Rifles, like

the Unbent Tree and the Arminius-D. The base damage of these weapons was increased and

their time to kill is very, very fast!

However, it isn't any relliable past close range.

Just take a look at these tests.

Some of the bullets aren't even hitting the target despite being aimed perfectly at the

enemy.

Such is the nature of these weapons.

Its body shot time to kill is surprisingly fast which means that it is an easy weapon

to use.

Don't get fooled by its small range stat, this weapon will be your bane if you aren't

careful at Close Range.

And finally we have a weapon that is hated by many Destiny players - Thorn.

I know some of you guys may be calling me crazy for putting Thorn only in the A-tier

and not higher, but there's a good reason for that: it's not too consistent.

Thorn's damage over time isn't as useful as Thorn can only kill with 1 Headshot and 2

bodyshots very low armored enemies, which are a very rare thing in the Crucible.

Furthermore, with the upcoming nerf to the Skorri's Artifact, we will most likely see

a rise of usage of the Artifact that reduces the effect of damage over time, which will

in turn make Thorn even less viable.

Taking into consideration its low stability and range stat and we see that Thorn is nowhere

near as powerfull as it once was, therefore making it to the A-tier.

- S BORDERLINE - This is a sort of sub tier that I have created, based on the Smogon tiers,

in case you're familiar with those, and consists of weapons that are too strong to be in the

A Tier but are not on the same level or aren't as relliable / competitive as the S tier weapons.

I have opened this exception to only 2 weapons and those are:

Hawkmoon and MIDA Multi-tool.

Let's start with the Exotic Handcannon Hawkmoon.

Much like every other handcannon, it is now much better due to the accuracy changes in

the latest patch.

Hawkmoon feels much more crisp and reminiscent of the powerhouse it used to be Year-1.

Of course, now it isn't as powerfull as it once was, but you can definetely see how it

has risen in popularity in the last couple of weeks.

The very good chance to take down an enemy guardian in 2 shots thanks to its lucky bullets

is really appealing.

If you are accurate and good at keeping track of your ammo, you can consistently drop multiple

enemies in an instant which is a feat in itself, but extremely satisfying when it works!

The only thing that is holding the Hawkmoon back is its consistency.

It isn't too stable, nor does it have good range.

Hawkmoon is in the 81 Impact 22 Rate Of Fire Handcannon Archetype, dealing 81 damage to

the head and 59 to the body in PvP, the same as The Palindrome and the Eyasluna's.

Fact is, the latter two are much more stable and have much better Range and Aim Assist

stats, which are essential for any Handcannon.

For comparison's sake, let's compare the Eyasluna to the Hawkmoon.

Keep in mind that the Palindrome and the Eyasluna have nearly identical stats so if you have

a Palindrome and not a Eyasluna, the results should be about the same.

First let's take a look at their Stability: Hawkmoon's Max Stability is 46, where as Eyasluna's

Max Stability is 96.

That's a HUGE gap!

But this can only be achieved by sacrificing some other stats and Stability isn't as an

important stat as the next two are for Handcannons.

In terms of Range, Eyasluna has a max range of 62, when using Rifled Barrel, which is

what you're generally looking for in a Handcannon, where as Hawkmoon only has a maximum range

stat of 47.

The reason as to why Range is so important in Handcannons is because it affects damage

drop off at a distance, meaning that the higher the Range stat, the further you will be able

to hit your target for the weapon's maximum damage.

Furthermore, Range also affects bullet magnetism, much like Aim Assist, which, in this particular

stat, the difference between these 2 weapons isn't as big.

Eyasluna's Aim Assist is 50, where as Hawkmoon's is 40.

Hawkmoon is a very strong weapon and is definetely worth using up your Exotic Slot.

However, it is simply outshadowed by weapons with superior stats that don't have to relly

on luck to be power houses.

As for MIDA Multi-tool, no major changes were made to this Exotic Scout Rifle in the 2.5.0.2

Update, apart from increasing all of Scout Rifles In-air Accuracy.

However, since Special ammo was nerfed, Sniper Rifles aren't used as much and the focus of

the current meta is Sidearms.

This gives MIDA an excellent opportunity to shine, taking down enemies that can't fight

you at a distance, as it can kill enemy Guardians in only 4 shots in just about any range on

any map.

Take a look at this!

As you can see, I am on one side of the Map Bannerfall, and my friend Lion God is on the

other side and I am still dealing next to max damage per shot (which, by the way, is

55 damage to the head and 37 to the body).

Although MIDA doesn't have the fastest time to kill, it is still very easy to achieve

its fastest time to kill, as you only need 3 out of the 4 shots to be headshots in order

to get a kill.

The extra movement speed provided by its intrinsic perk also allows you to move to choke points

or advantageous positions faster, so you'll have a better control of the battlefield.

Furthermore, the very little use of Sniper Rifles seen in the Crucible right now, along

with the upcoming nerf to No Land Beyond coming in March (which I'll talk about in a few moments)

make MIDA a great weapon to dominate the PvP Arena from a safe distance.

Pair that with a Sidearm and you will be good to go!

And now, let us finally take a look at the S-tier weapons.

These are the powerhouses that will dominate the Crucible.

The ones that we will see at the top of the most used weapons charts.

Also the ones that might end up being nerfed later down the line.

First, let's start with a weapon that, if you have been playing Crucible, at all, in

the last couple of weeks, you have for certain encountered multiple times.

A weapon that has never been relevant in the meta up until this point.

Yes, I am refering to the Wormwood Sidearm!

The changes to Special Ammo have made Sidearms prevelant in the Crucible for the first time.

Maybe too prevelant.

According to Destiny Tracker, its usage rate was over 50% during the first Trials Of Osiris

post-patch and is now the most used weapon in the crucible.

That is insane and just proves how strong sidearms are in the current meta.

Although their ammo is likely to be nerfed and brought back to how it functioned before

the February Update, fact is, Sidearms are very strong when everyone else doesn't have

Special Ammo.

But of course, that is a fact true to all Sidearms.

So, what makes the Wormwood in particular so good?

Well, first we should take a look at its stats.

Although the game might not tell you, there are actually different types of Sidearms,

just like there are different types of Auto rifles, Handcannons, etc., even though the

in-game bars do not show any difference.

The Worm Wood places in the most balanced sidearm Archetype, the 94 Rate Of Fire and

12 Impact, which translates to 60 damage to the head and 48 damage to the body.

That is higher than that of Thunderlord's!

And there are Sidearms that deal even more damage than that!

However, those sidearms don't have such a fast time to kill as the Worm Wood has, as

a result of its impact and rate of fire.

As you can see, it has a very fast time to kill, killing in only 4 shots, requiring only

1 of them to be a headshot, which makes this a very easy to achieve TTK.

The Worm Wood's TTK is nearly equal to that of The Last Word's when you only hit bodyshots

(meaning you need 4 shots to kill).

Furthermore, it is a very accessible weapon as the vendor version sold by Future Warcult

comes with great perks that focus on increasing its range and stability, making it all the

more deadly.

The WormWood is a fantastic weapon to pull out in a tough situation and goes well with

just about any loadout.

But what it goes perfectly with, is the No Land Beyond Exotic Primary Sniper Rifle.

This weapon used to be a joke in the Destiny community but has steadily risen in popularity

in Year-3, especially after the Special Ammo changes.

Having the ability to use a Sniper Rifle as your primary weapon, that has constantly ammo,

is just amazing by itself.

Plus, when you couple that with a Sidearm that has Special Ammo, every single time that

you respawn, you can start to see why this combo is so powerfull!

Furthermore, the No Land Beyond was not affected by the previous change to Sniper Rifles that

increased the flinch they received when aiming down sights, meaning that it can still be

very accurate under fire.

Just take a look at this clip.

This is something that other Sniper Rifles cannot accomplish.

If we were to compare the levels of flinch between No Land Beyond and, say, a 1000 Yard

Stare, this is what it looks like after a single Palindrome shot.

Keep in mind that flinch changes depending on damage of the weapon fired and the angle

at which it is fired, and that it stacks the more it is fired, so after a couple of shots,

the differences are much more apparent.

Bungie has said, however, that they will look into this and are likely to bring No Land

Beyond down a little, to be in line with the other Sniper Rifles, but for the time being,

No Land Beyond remains in the S-tier.

Next up are the Legendary Handcannons of the 81 Impact, 22 Rate Of Fire Archetype, namely

the Eyasluna and The Palindrome, which dominated the meta, along with the High Rate of Fire

Pulse Rifles, which have now been nerfed.

These weapons were the only thing that you would see being used in Sweats and Tournaments,

and most likely will continue to see.

I have already adressed them when I was discussing Hawkmoon, but in short, their very high stats

coupled with a very fast and relliable time to kill (only needing 3 shots, one of them

being a headshot) make for Impeccable weapons!

Furthermore, The Palindrome is a very accessible gun, as it is sold by the Vanguard Quartermaster

with near perfect perks, so go get yours if you haven't already!

I mean WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!

Moving on we have the Legendary Pulse Rifles of the 7 Impact, 73 Rate Of Fire Archetype,

namely the Hawksaw and the SUROS PDX-45.

These were the go-to weapons before the Clever Dragon and the Grasp Of Malok were discovered.

And even then, the fact that they are so relliable, even at a range, having good range and stability

stats, even if you have a bad roll, is what makes them so great!

In addition to that, the fact that they are Pulse Rifles means that they are very confortable

and easy to use AND, on top of that, cause a good ammount of flinch, even after the latest

patch, which will give you an edge in a gunfight.

The Hawksaw and the SUROS PDX-45, in particular, can be easily obtained with good perks so

they are a must have weapon for Crucible players.

And finally, you probably saw this one coming, we have The Last Word.

Of course the weapon with the fastest time to kill in the game, apart from insta-kill

weapons of course, is going to be on this list!

The Last Word is a pretty badass weapon that seems to dominate every single Meta Season

in Destiny.

And for a good reason!

Its insanely fast time to kill will absolutely delete your enemies and they may not even

know what hit them!

It feels a lot more accurate after the latest update, although the range drop off seems

a bit more noticeable as well.

You will just have to use it at Close range and you'll be good.

As you can see, it can melt enemies in just 3 shots and only 2 of them need to be headshots.

The only problem with The Last Word is the fact that you should pair it with a Sniper

Rifle to cover mid-long distance engagements.

However, the latest patch has made this harder as each time that you die, you will respawn

without any special ammo, but you can still play around that very easily if you only play

to the Strenghts of the weapon.

And that concludes Destiny's new Meta Weapon Tier List.

Once again keep in mind that this is all my opinion and if one of your favorite weapons

isn't here , then it's probably because I don't think it is as strong as these ones

or I may have forgotten about it.

After all, there are lots of weapons to cover in Destiny and I spent a lot of time testing

them, so I may have missed a couple.

That being said, it would really mean a lot to me if you could share this video around,

maybe by word of mouth with your friends, if someone were to ask which weapons you believe

to be the best and you would direct them to this video..

That would be just great, as I definetely put a lot of time and effort into making this

video.

I had to test every single weapon, with a whole selection of different perks, writting

the script, which I made 2 different drafts of, getting the gameplay and everything else,

so please, if you could share this video, even if just with a single friend, that would

be fantastic!

I will also leave a link in the description to a post on the Bungie Forums, where I will

leave my weapon tiers, and it would also help out a lot if you could upvote that post and

leave a comment.

It could be anything, really!

With that being said, thank you so much for watching this video and supporting the channel.

Please leave a like if you have enjoyed this video or found it informative, as it helps

the channel grow and keeps me motivated to bring more content, similar to this, in the

future.

And don't forget to leave a comment with your own Tier-list.

Let's get a discussion going down there.

Also, subscribe if you're new to the channel and don't want to miss an ounce of Destiny

goodness.

And if you're already subscribed, I advise you to click on that small bell near the Subscription

box to be notified whenever I upload.

Youtube has been glitching a lot lately and many videos are not reaching the sub boxes

so you may end up missing some videos if you are not notified, which is a shame, but I

guess that's just how Youtube works nowadays.

Once again, thank you all so much for watching, my name's been DarkHero and I will see you

on my next video.
