hello welcome to M/LAT 30b survey of
latin american film. My name is Alicia
CaballeroChristensen and I will be
your facilitator for this class
this is my cat chuka named after the
Pachucas from the Los Angeles chicana
counterculture of the 1940s
she's also fearsome rebellious and i
love it
so this is a 15-week a One hundred percent
online class there will be one optional
face-to-face orientation on monday
February 6th at 6pm and Laney Technology
Center f170 but other than that we will
be meeting just virtually online i do
ask that you at least commit to login on
two to three times a week we have
consistent forum post every week that
are due by Thursday's 1159 p.m. and we
have peer responses do almost every
saturday on by 1159 p.m. so just please
note that on your calendar when you open
the syllabus you'll also see that you
can print out a master calendar of every
due date assignment and how and see how
much each of those points breakdown for
also just note that this
class is fun but it's also challenging
so it takes a lot of self-discipline and
commitment particularly because it's
online but I hope because we're going to
be watching a lot of films and that the
material will be engaging and that you
can involve yourself with a lot of amazing
discussion outside of this class with
your family and your friends your
community as you watch these films
you'll notice that two of the main
assignments for this class are leading
community screens with folks who are not
enrolled so that we can spread and share
the knowledge with our loved ones in our
community if you need to contact me
there's two main ways that I request
that you do that one there is a Q&A
forum on the top of our Moodle shell if
you have any general questions about
assignments course structure timelines
and please put your question there and
put a title in the subject line and i'll
try to respond to those questions within
48 hours particularly workday our has
and then the second thing is you can
email me I prefer emails be pertaining
to personal individual questions that
might not benefit other folks but first
make sure that your question isn't
answered on our course syllabus or on
the Q&A section a little bit about me
I'm the department chair of ethnic
studies at laney college and i'm also
the coordinator of the community
engagement initiative that Lanie we're
trying to connect to community-based
nonprofit agencies movements coalition's
labor networks to our campus so that we
can increase resources internships and
opportunities for our students
i'm also a lover of running so you might
see me running around the lake or
running up in the Oakland Hills and
outside of that i'm also working on a
documentary with my partner
so while i'm not a filmmaker I like to
look at behind-the-scenes of how films
are distributed how they're funded and
if any of you all are interested in
documentary filmmaking or filmmaking in
general we need more storytellers we
need more artists and we need more
documentarians investigative journalists
at more than ever
so if that's something you ever want to
discuss or talk about I'd love to
connect with you and office hours to
also talk about future careers or
possibilities so overall I'm really
excited to meet you online there's a set
of activities that absolutely need to be
done by this upcoming friday or else you
will be dropped in the class so i have a
list as at startup activities when you
log into the course shell and please
email me if you have any questions or
concerns and it might take me about
48-hour turnaround to respond to email
but no I'm going to try my very best to
be as timely with communication as
possible i know we're living in a very
heightened political climate and so I
really also want to encourage you to
take care of yourself the semester to
show yourself love and take yourself on
dates even if it means we're watching
the movies in this clay class I'm enjoy
it and find some joy and learning and
spines enjoy and writing and find some
joy and sharing the knowledge you're
getting from this class in all your
classes with your family with your
friends with your kids you want to use
your TS your roommates
try to build more connection because I
believe that real connection is what's
going to sustain us so i hope you have a
great first week i really look forward
to meeting all of you and please write
your bios an introductory forum and

HAY DAY - DON'T DO PERMANENT DAMAGE TO YOUR FARM! THE WARNING FOR HAY DAY PLAYERS! - Duration: 8:48.
What is up everybody, this is SuperSight, and welcome back to a new video of Hay Day.
In this episode it is "The Warning For Hay Day Players" and "Don't do permanent damage
to your farm".
And I'm going to show you what not to do in Hay Day.
So anyway here we go and our farm is back.
So let's get next level, there we go, yea level 5, so we have unlocked some soybeans,
shovel, saw, axe, tnt barrel, dynamite another diamond, and 3 awesome fields.
So we will continue and accept that diamond, and we will, where is it.
K, oh we can get some more chickens, so we'll put 3 chickens in there, because they don't
cost too much and fields we'll get another 3, great fields, this is looking good with
all these fields, they'll slowly add up, Oh a chest, my first chest, and I, and I got
a wooden panel for it, that's great, so I like wooden panels they are really useful
for upgrading.
There we go, I'll turn my field around, there we go, so they look nice.
And we will get some more of those going, how's this going, so this shows, this is my
barn storage, all the different things that are in my barn, and I'm happy with the storage
and then silo storage is that.
So we will put some, plant some wheat, there we go, so we got out wheat, and o we can,
there's no point harvesting them yet because we don't need eggs.
So I'll just do that, oh we got 2 orders now, we're moving up to 2 orders.
And...
That one maybe, because this one here, bread normally sells for 21 coins, so that is a
bad deal.
With this one here I guess, if I have spare wheat I will, so I'll keep that to do it
latter and how much XP will these give me, 1 XP each.
There we go, so now we enough feed to do these 3 as well.
I'm blatantly ignoring that visitor.
K, so, awesome we now have our production machines going and our wheat getting ready,
and let's see what the visitor wants.
O yip, So this is Joan, she's only offering 15 coins when the bread costs 21 coins.
So nope.
The delivery, ok, order board shows, yea I know we've done an episode on the order board.
So tap here, and now we are out of wheat to do that.
And, no we are not going to do our very first delivery, counter to what he says.
Anyway I'm going to go into what not to do in Hay Day, and this is, this is what so many
people do, a terrible mistake , and I want to just show you, what the bad thing to do
is, so you won't do it.
Now see this lovely farm, all these beautiful green trees, and rocks, and pounds, and small
rocks, and big rocks and, everyone has this exact same design when they start.
So basically you can keep as much as you want or you can destroy as much as you want.
And it looks fantastic all natural but a terrible mistake people do is they remove almost all
of this so it looks totally barren.
They cut down all of the trees, they rip out all of the pounds, they blow up all the rocks,
and then they are left with nothing, and you cannot repurchase those trees exactly, which
change color in the themes.
And that is the big thing about these trees in particular, they, what they do is they,
every theme that Hay Day puts out, so there's like a winter theme, and spring theme, autumn
theme, summer theme, sorry if they are not in order.
But yea they, they change color with the season, so currently, currently they're natural green,
but at winter they will be all white and that, and it looks so cool, but if you cut them
out, it's permanently removed and you cannot re-bring them in.
So that is one thing you never want to do, and I thought I'd do it this episode, because
this is the episode where we've unlocked the axe and the saw.
Which cut down the trees, and also the, we have tnt barrel, and dynamite, and so these
are different things that will remove the rocks, also the shovel, that removes the pounds.
So yea, what you don't want to do is go ahead and remove it.
Now if you have removed a lot of it, or almost all of it, or, even if you've, yea no.
But if you have removed a lot of it, don't worry there is, you can still keep what you've
got and make it look more natural, and so, that is one thing that I would highly suggest,
that even if you've removed some, do not remove any more because once it's removed, it's removed
forever.
So yea that's, that it, that's my advice, do not remove trees and that.
So what I will be doing with this, my little town or farm, is I will be removing the least
possible amount of trees, and I will for example, put my production buildings like in here,
or in here, or there, so yea I won't have to remove more trees to put them there, so
that's that's what I will be doing, I won't be cutting down trees or rocks, because that
natural landscape is what makes incredible.
Once you change that natural landscape you can never fully restore it.
And so yea, that is my warning, that yea, keep the trees keep the rocks, keep the pounds,
it looks incredible just the way it is.
So yea that's basically it for the advice, and we will now look to see, oh the orders
are getting bigger, but I'm still not happy with that order, so I will remove that order
because 3 eggs, that's like 18 coins each.
That's like, is that 55 coins, I don't know, it's like something up there.
54, because 18 plus 18, 36.
40, I feel bad it's like, I'm recording a video and I can't work out math.
Anyway we will collect the bread and I will try and work it out again, so 18, 18, 36,
46 plus 8, 54, that's it, 54.
So it's only giving me 24 so that's 30 coins less than what the roadside shop would sell
for.
And even if you add in the XP, that would not equal 54.
So that is going to be deleted, there we go and we have some more wheat, some more awesome
wheat coming along, I better actually start planting some other stuff or, oh one XP off.
And I just got my first axe, so I am immediately going, no I'm not, I'm just kidding, I am
not going to cut down my trees, I am going to save, I might end up, if I end up out of
room, I will have to use it, but I'll work out the best place to use it, if that time
comes.
I'll go with some soybeans, because they are cool and some, need to replenish my storage
of them, but yea I will save up my axes, and that for when I unlock apple trees at level
15.
So yea that will, wait will I, oh yea I'll, I'll, no I won't, oh, nah nah, maybe not.
