Hey guys my names ernie and welcome to the trash compactor! Before I get into the
topic of todays video, Id like to apologize for not uploading any videos this past week.
I was extremely busy with a project outside of the channel and I just didnt have time
to to take a few hours to make a video.
In the last Who is?... video I asked you guys to vote in a poll that I put out
on who the next Who Is?... video should be about. You guys voted on everyones favorite
blue mon calamari, admiral raddus. Admiral Raddus was the commander of the rebel alliances
fleet, and served on the rebel council around the time of Rogue one. He was born on the
planet mon-cala. Mon-cala was a water covered world located in the outer rim territories.
During the reign of the empire, as with most planets, mon-cala came under imperial occupation.
This was the catalyst for a massive evacuation of mon calamari star ships as well as a portion
of its population which included admiral raddus. Most of the ships evacuated went on
to be converted into rebel warships. Prior to evacuating mon-cala and joining the rebellion,
raddus served as mayor of the city Nystullum, and also played a role in Mon-Calas planetary
defense force. Once Raddus had joined the rebellion he quickly took command of his flagship,
the profundity, which we see him commanding in rogue one during the battle of scariff.
Unfortunately I think its safe to assume that Raddus was killed in battle, and if not
then he was most likely taken as prisoner of war. I mean cmon his ship was boarded
by Darth Vader!One of the traits of Admiral Raddus that confuses people is his blue skin
color. When we visit Mon-Cala in the clone wars tv series arc Water War (which
I highly recommend watching) we see mon-calamari of many different skin colors. Including,
green, yellow, brown, orange, and even pink. But we dont see any that are blue. So why
not? Well, the explanation is actually pretty simple, Raddus grew up in the polar regions
of mon-cala while characters like admiral ackbar, and prince lee char grew up in the
tropical regions of the planet. Its really just an ethnicity thing. A quick fun fact
about admiral raddus is that his personality is based on that of winston churchill. Mainly
because hes a strong leader and war figure. Alright guys, thats pretty much it for
