HALLUCINATIONS ARE MUCH MORE COMMON THAN WE THINK.

When certain experiences fall outside of societal norms, people tend to keep their personal

events to themselves.

For instance, you probably dont hear people walking down the street talking about their

hallucinations as candidly as they do, say, their dreams.

But new research has found that the former is actually much more common among the general

population than most people realize.

A study examining over 7,400 people in the UK discovered that 4.3% of participants had

reported having experienced visual or auditory hallucinations in the past year, including

people without mental disorders.

This proves the phenomenon isnt limited to people with psychosis.

There is a general idea in psychiatry that hallucinations are a feature of psychosis,

explained lead researcher Ian Kelleher from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland,

but when we looked at a whole range of mental health diseases we found that hallucinations

are symptoms that occur in a wide range of mental health disorders such as depression

or anxiety.

Borderline personality disorder was used as an example of a psychotic disorder for this

study, which, like many other mental issues, has a heavy stigma that sufferers see and

hear things that arent there.

The results of this recent study challenge the stigma, however, dismantling the idea

of a divide.

The researchers reviewed data from the 2007 Adult Psychiatric Morbidity survey, and found

that a significant amount of participants had been diagnosed with a mental health condition.

To determine if hallucinations were more common among people with a psychotic disorder as

opposed to those without, the team looked at how many people with borderline personality

disorder reported seeing or healing things that other people couldnt over the last

year compared to participants with non-psychotic depression or anxiety.

Their results showed that hallucinations werent greater or more apparent in those with borderline

personality disorder than in those with a non-psychotic mental disorder.

Additionally, more than 4% of every single respondent reported hearing or seeing things

that others couldnt, leading the team to suggest that hallucinations arent exclusively

symptoms of psychosis.

Hallucinations are more common than people realize.

They can be frightening experiences, and few people openly talk about it, Kelleher explained.

Our research is valuable because it can show them they are not alone and that having

these symptoms is not necessarily associated with having a mental health disorder.

It breaks the taboo.

Such findings support the results of a bigger study published in 2015, which analyzed data

for more than 31,000 people from 19 countries.

Researchers found that about 5% of the general population reported experiencing hallucinations,

regardless of having a mental illness or not.

We used to think that only people with psychosis heard voices or had delusions, but

now we know that otherwise healthy, high-functioning people also report these experiences, explained

lead researcher John McGrath, from the Queensland Brain Institute in Australia.

These studies reveal the potential inaccuracy of symptoms associated with mental health

disorders, and highlight just one of many problems with stigmatizing people who suffer

from mental illness, both from a scientific perspective and

a moral one.

2016 Bentley Bentayga - Duration: 7:26.

"The fastest, most powerful, most luxurious and most exclusive SUV in the world".

This is the bold statement Bentley is currently using to market the new Bentley Bentayga.

20 years ago, the idea of a 150,000 euro SUV would have been laughable.

In fact, when Lamborghini did test the water with the wild LM002, all but the world's

elite did laugh before it was swiftly consigned to the history books.

Since then, the world has moved on.

The market has slowly grown to accept that there is a place for these cars.

Jaguar, Maserati and even Rolls-Royce all have SUV projects in the works; even Lamborghini

appears to have entered the ring for round two.

Although many assume it is, the Bentayga isn't the first SUV to have left the Bentley factory

gates although it is the first official production model.

The first was a bespoke model, built for the Sultan of Brunei.

Named the Bentley Dominator, it's probable that only six were made.

The only clear pictures that exist were taken when the cars were loaded onto a Brunei-bound

cargo plane and its existence isn't common knowledge.

Engine, Chassis and Performance: To start with the very essentials of the Bentayga;

the chassis is obviously the same PL71 platform as Volkswagen Group uses across its entire

premium SUV range.

By platform I mean the bare metalwork that forms the vehicle floor and shell, including

the doors, roof and bonnet.

It is built at Volkswagen Group's Bratislava Plant in Slovakia.

The empty shell is then shipped out to Crewe for finishing.

Bentley fit the drivetrain, suspension components, interior and engine.

In all but its most fundamental components, the Bentayga is a complete in-house model.

You barely notice the Volkswagen Group provenance and the Bentayga certainly feels in a different

ball game to its German counterparts.

In traditional Bentley fashion, the Bentayga gets a massive 6.0 litre W12 TSI engine, heavily

revised for use in the Bentayga.

Bentley have used both direct and indirect fuel injection to maximise efficiency and

refinement.

The advantage is that when you are cruising along, the engine is better able to regulate

the amount of fuel that goes into the combustion chamber which improves fuel economy.

The W12 also gets two twin scroll turbochargers for instantaneous boost.

Expect to see the new engine work its way down the Bentley lineup over time.

The W12 also comes fitted with cylinder deactivation, shutting down the intake and exhaust valves,

fuel injection and ignition on six cylinders.

Coasting is available when off-throttle in 5th to 8th gear.

Ultimately, Bentley have put a substantial amount of effort into increasing efficiency.

Power is a massive 608 hp which is produced between 5,000 and 6,000 rpm.

Torque is pegged at 900 Nm between 1,350 rpm and 4,500 rpm with a 40:60 front-rear split.

Essentially, the torque curve is completely flat after 1,350 rpm offering excellent pulling

power.

The Bentayga is rated for 3,500 kg of towing power; it could pull its own gross vehicle

weight!

The W12 is routed through a ZF eight-speed gearbox, strengthened for the increased demands

of the additional weight, performance and off-road potential.

The Bentayga manages a very impressive 0 to 100 km/h sprint of just 4.1 seconds together

with a top speed of 301 km/h.

Design: In terms of style, there is no mistaking the

Bentayga for any other marque.

The dual front headlights and dominating matrix grille take care of that.

Bentley designers have attempted to do away with the dual headlight design more recently.

The overwhelming feedback was negative so Bentley have stuck to what they know.

The outer headlight serves as a daytime running light and also incorporates the washer for

the main headlight.

The front bonnet gets a central crease which creates the sensation of symmetry.

Bentley are keen to point out the work that has gone into getting to proportions correct.

The overhangs in particular are short enough to ensure that the Bentayga has fantastic

road clearance making it useable off-road should it ever be required.

There is a dominant styling line which runs from the front towards the rear three quarters

where it begins to fade out.

A lower styling line runs horizontally from the side air vent to the same three quarter

position.

Both lines are joined towards the rear of the door by a haunch line which begins at

the boot and dips from above the rear door handle.

A further design line, further down towards the side sills, gives the Bentayga some braun.

All panels are constructed from aluminium, to have used traditional steel coachwork would

have added an extra 236 kg.

A complete range of new alloy wheels are available for the Bentayga in sizes ranging from 20

inches to 22 inches.

For the most part, I drove 21 inch rims with Pirelli Scorpion tyres which seemed to offer

an excellent ride quality.

Interior: Inside, customers will get a choice of four

or five seat layout.

Customers who choose the former will get four individual seats with 18-way adjustability.

There is quilted leather by the bucket-load in the Bentayga.

The seats are designed with quilted leather incorporated into the back rest, the side

bolsters and the door trim.

Customers will be able to spec four different colour split options with at least 15 different

leather options.

The Bentley wing design dashboard houses technology above the wing with exquisite veneers and

leather below.

It is the small touches that really set the interior apart though.

The detailed knurling on the dials, the bespoke speaker covers and the chrome detailing.

Veneers options are extensive.

Seven options are available on the standard spec list with Bentley looking at providing

Stone and Glass veneers at some point in the future.

Bentley fit an 8 inch touch screen infotainment system in the Bentayga.

It uses a Google-maps based system with Online Real Time Traffic Information.

There are three speaker options culminating in the Naim for Bentley unit I found fitted

to most Bentayga's.

This is a state of the art 1,800 watt system with 18 speakers.

Also available as an option is a set of removable android tablets for passengers.

The Real Reason We Don't Hear From Nicky Hilton Anymore - Duration: 7:47.

Nicky Hilton was an "It Girl" in the 90s, a shy, twinning accomplice to sister Paris's

ditzy brand of bombshell.

She was born super rich.

She never had a sex tape.

And she was invoking the kind of gossip usually reserved for, well, someone who actually did

things.

Hamptons Magazine publisher Jason Binn told Vanity Fair, "They live very colorful lives.

They're little stars.

They've become names.

To them it's like a job.

I believe they wake up every morning and say, OK, where am I supposed to be tonight?"

But that was all years ago — what ever happened to Paris's kid sister?

With loads of family drama, and a bottomless bank account, here's what she's been up to

over the last several years.

Nicky O-no

In 2006, the hotel heiress decided to launch her own boutique line of luxury digs, bringing

two brand new "Nicky O" hotels to Chicago and Miami.

The "O" was for "Olivia", Hilton's middle name.

In an interview with The Miami Herald, Hilton said, "I want to bring a fashion element to

the hotel, because that's what I do.

I think it's definitely going to bring a trendy, fashionable person who's coming into town

to have fun."

Hotel developer Robert Falor went on to say, "People want to be part of and feel like they're

in the 'in' crowd.

Nicky brings that."

But she wouldn't bring it far enough — and the venture would go bankrupt in less than

a year.

According to Chicago Business, Falor Group then filed a lawsuit against Hilton, claiming

she didn't promote the hotels and hired out design work she should have done herself.

The two properties were later sold at auction — a no go, for Nicky O.

Heiress author

Hilton's insider-wardrobe fashion guide 365 Style hit the shelves in fall of 2014.

"It all started when I.. you know..

Went to my closet in the morning and felt like I had nothing to wear."

So what was the solution?

Hilton continued:

"So I found that if you stick to six staples and five accessories each season, you have

a wardrobe of on trend items you're going to wear."

Describing her own style as "sophisticated with an edge", Hilton confessed to a fashion

fail when she was younger.

Dishing to WhoWhatWear, Hilton said, "I wouldn't say I regret it, but my sister and I used

to love dressing alike.

I'm sure there are a lot of photos you can find.

I look back on that and find it funny."

Meeting Mister Right

It was a match made in trust fund heaven.

You might think Hilton's the one with the hook-ups, but her 31-year-old hubby James

Rothschild comes from one of the richest families on earth — a finance and banking family

worth $700 trillion.

Topped off with the Hilton's estimated $900 million fortune?

These two make it rain every day of the week.

But the pair met old-school style.

In Avenue Magazine, Hilton shared, "In the olden days that's where you met your husband,

at a wedding."

According to the New York Times, Hilton met Rothschild at Formula One heiress Petra Ecclestone's

multi-million dollar wedding in 2011.

The two maintained a long-distance relationship between Hilton's LA, and Rothschild's

London, for about a year, until making things official when they moved to New York City

together in 2012.

Tossing Mister Wrong

Hilton had just moved to The Big Apple to be be with her future hubby, but that didn't

mean the skeletons would stay in her closet.

It wasn't long before The New York Post reported in 2012, that Hilton's ex-husband

Todd Meister was hitting the heiress up, initiating sexy emails with Hilton while he was linked

to Renata Shamrakova . Topping it off, his messages were basically Usher lyrics.

"I will never make it by without you (without you..without you)."

So who the heck was Mister Meister, anyway?

Wayyyyy back in August 2004, during a wild Vegas weekend with gal-pals Nicole Richie,

Bijou Phillips, and Lindsay Lohan, Hilton had married her childhood friend and money

manager Meister at an impromptu 2:30 a.m. wedding.

The happy couple was so happy — that they had the marriage annulled within six weeks.

Having hella moved on with her trillionaire heir, we're betting Hilton said "boy-bye"

to Mister Todd Meister.

Wedding bells

"It's gonna be, relatively small."

Giving W Magazine the scoop on her couture bridal gown, Hilton said, "I think Valentino

is so elegant, so timeless.

I think a lot of brides today try and go a little too fashion-y or avant-garde.

And I really just wanted timeless, classic, beautiful."

While her dress bore a striking similarity to Kate Middleton's 2011 Alexander McQueen

wedding gown, it was a flattering tribute, as Hilton and Rothschild held their 2015 ceremony

at Kensington Palace, just like a pair of royals.

Paris, who served as Maid of Honor, shared with PEOPLE, "They're just perfect for each

other.

They're like a prince and princess.

I think it's important to find someone you trust and love [to] spend the rest of your

life [with].

I think that's the meaning of life: to get married and have a family."

"Are you ready?"

"For anything.

So long as it's with you."

Major family drama

Of course, it wasn't totally perfect.

There was one moment when her veil got run over by a Bentley.

Even still, Hilton's lavish palace wedding went off without a hitch when the day finally

arrived.

But before the big day in July 2015, there was major family drama brewing behind the

scenes.

"I always been close with all my nieces and nephews.

I was told that maybe it would be bad idea if I did come."

That confessional from Nicki's aunt Kyle Richards wasn't just reality TV fodder.

So what was going on?

There was younger brother Conrad's California court appearance regarding an arrest from

2014.

And Hilton's aunt, Kim Richards also missed the ceremony, because she was in rehab in

Malibu.

Even though aunt Kyle Richards did eventually attend the wedding, Richards' husband Mauricio

Umansky was noticeably absent, thanks to a business fallout between Umansky and Hilton's

father Rick.

But judging by that radiant glow on her big day, we've got a hunch the drama stayed home

for Hilton's glam destination wedding.

Hardcore philanthropist

Hilton says she and all of the Hilton grandkids are encouraged to take part in her great-grandfather

Conrad N. Hilton's Foundation, according to Genlux Magazine.

And the altruistic heiress packs her schedule with charitable galas and engagements throughout

the year.

She has supported Jessica Seinfeld's GOOD Foundation, Reach Act, and Animal Haven, as

well as her designer friends involved in the ethical and sustainable fashion movement.

This affluent girl's got a lot on her plate, but she's all about sharing.

Momma Nicky

In May 2015, Hilton mused in Avenue Magazine, "People say your life doesn't even begin until

you have children.

I'm so excited for the next chapter in my life, having children and starting a family.

There's nothing better than that."

"Wake up partner, it's time for birthing class."

"Yay."

Just two days before the couple's first wedding anniversary in July 2016, they welcomed daughter

Lily-Grace Victoria into their family.

With not much but a glimpse of Lily-Grace's tiny little feet on Instagram, and a stroller

sighting in NYC in July, Hilton and Rothschild have kept their daughter's life as private

as possible.

Aunt Paris gushed about her niece to Yahoo Celebrity, "I'm obsessed with her.

She's the most beautiful baby I've ever seen in my life.

I literally cry when I hold her because I'm so happy for my sister."

Never a party girl

Hilton admitted in Avenue Magazine, "Half of what you read about us wasn't true.

The things I would read about myself in these gossip columns growing up…

I once read I jumped onstage at some concert and was singing with the band.

I mean, can you imagine me doing that?

Anyone who knows me would know that wouldn't happen in a million years."

Back in 1996, the Hilton family moved from LA to New York City for Hilton's father's

business.

She told Vanity Fair, "I cried.

Everything was different.

When I was in LA in seventh grade we would just all sit home on a Friday night and watch

movies, and like, make up dances, and in New York there's, like, house parties and boys."

In The Daily News, the 33-year-old Hilton recalled, "That whole Hollywood scene, it

wasn't me."

Still a few tricks up her sleeves

"Someone wrote me on Twitter, what exactly do you do?

I have wrote a book.

I have come out with a cosmetics line.

I have a handbag line coming out.

I've done a clothing line.

I'm like what are you talking about?"

It might seem like Hilton's settled down these days, but that doesn't mean that's the last

we'll hear of her.

With a passion for fashion, and a penchant for Insta-glam, all signs point to Hilton's

wild success in design collaborations, now, and in the future.

She may become even more active in the social issues that matter to her most, as daughter

Lily-Grace grows up.

And who knows — perhaps another little Hilton-Rothschild will arrive on the scene.

Hilton's proven she can weather the storms of life in the public eye, with poise and

grace, fostering unbreakable relationships with those she loves most.

She's a deeply devoted wife, an adoring mother, a loyal sister, and a beloved daughter.

Whatever she decides to do next, she's sure to leave her signature mark.

Why Hollywood Won't Cast Christopher Mintz-Plasse Anymore - Duration: 4:36.

He's the artist formerly known as McLovin.

And after his breakout performance in Superbad, Christopher Mintz-Plasse seemed like he was

on the verge of joining co-stars Jonah Hill and Seth Rogen on Hollywood's A-list, following

it up with acclaimed turns in Kick-Ass and How to Train Your Dragon.

But his popularity with fans somehow didn't translate into more big time roles.

Here's a look at why Hollywood won't cast Christopher Mintz-Plasse anymore.

The curse of McLovin

Ever since 2007's Superbad, where he obtained the world's fakest fake ID, Christopher Mintz-Plasse

has been better known by another name:

"McLovin?"

"Yeah."

"McLovin?

What kind of stupid name is that, Fogel?

What, are you trying to be an Irish R&B singer?"

Nearly ten years later, it's still by far his most memorable role — which is fine

if you want to be a cult figure forever, but not so great for the establishment of a robust

and continuing career in Hollywood.

The legacy of McLovin has utterly overshadowed literally every movie Mintz-Plasse has made

since.

It's a fair bet that at least half his fans don't even recognize him by his real name.

Turns out that fake ID wasn't so fake after all.

He's focused on his music

While Christopher Mintz-Plasse definitely enjoys acting, he's also a dedicated musician,

and his projects on that front are clearly just as important to him as being on-screen.

He's spending a lot of time these days practicing, performing, and recording with his latest

band, Mainman — which is, of course, time he's not spending auditioning for more or

bigger roles in blockbuster Hollywood movies.

Which is just how he likes it, telling Stereogum, "I would love to keep balancing the two.

I think I'm very lucky and grateful for where I am right now, that I can do both.

Acting, you can work for three months and not work for six months.

So in that time, I love the momentum of music and everything that's going on.

The momentum right now is very musical.

I kinda just go with the flow."

Doesn't court celebrity

While his Superbad castmates seem to be constantly in our faces at every possibly opportunity,

Mintz-Plasse has kept a much lower profile, with a media presence that leans more towards

photos of him cuddling with dogs than mugging for the cameras.

While it may keep his name out of the tabloids, keeping a low profile in Hollywood isn't exactly

the best career move.

When it comes to making movies, out of sight is definitely out of mind.

Heard but not seen

Christopher Mintz-Plasse has been a go-to guy for Dreamworks' animation studio ever

since he scored the role of Fishlegs in How to Train Your Dragon.

In addition to voicing that character through three films and a TV series, the actor was

also the first call when they needed a villain's voice for the 2016 Trolls movie.

Sure, it's nice work, but being a voiceover actor is just another way to be pigeonholed,

something Mintz-Plasse has already had far too much of.

"The only way I'll ever be happy is by eating a troll, and that ain't gonna happen thanks

to you!"

Trapped in a sitcom

In May 2012, Mintz-Plasse scored the lead role in a CBS sitcom called Friend Me.

It seemed like the perfect vehicle to transition from movies to television, but tragically,

Friend Me creator Alan Kirschenbaum took his own life before the project premiered, and

CBS decided not only to leave the show out of their lineup, but not to even air a single

one of the eight episodes already in the can.

The double blow of losing both Kirschenbaum and the show was hard for Mintz-Plasse to

bounce back from.

But in 2016, he finally landed another leading sitcom role, alongside Joel McHale and Stephen

Fry on the CBS sitcom The Great Indoors.

Unfortunately, that show has been panned by critics, and hasn't exactly set the ratings

on fire either.

Rotten Tomatoes described the show as "one repetitive, formulaic joke," which hardly

seems to suit an actor like Mintz-Plasse, who thrives playing against type in edgier,

boundary pushing projects.

Hopefully the show gets a lot better before Mintz-Plasse gets stuck in the downward spiral

of lowbrow sitcoms.

"Check burn!"

He can turn it around

Part of the reason for Christopher Mintz-Plasse's low visibility in Hollywood is that he seems

to prefer things that way.

But he still has both the chops and the connections in the industry to make a comeback if he wants

to.

"Hoo-ah!"

"That's Al Pacino!"

"That's not even -- yeah."

So if he ever decides to commit completely to acting, and to pursuing more screen time

in bigger movies, becoming a star will probably be as simple as making a few phone calls to

Rogen and the Apatow crew.

"You wanted me to be my own man.

This is what it looks like."

"Alright, alright, I'll make some calls."

"Yes!"

Fingers crossed!

The Truth About Tarek & Christina's Odd Marriage - Duration: 3:05.

The stars of HGTV's Flip or Flop, Tarek and Christina El Moussa, have been charming audiences

for years.

But their perfect facade seemed to crumble in December 2016, when it was revealed that

the couple had secretly been separated for months.

Here are some things you didn't know about Tarek and Christina El Moussa's odd marriage.

The gun incident

On May 23, 2016, police were summoned to the home of Tarek and Christina on a report of

a possibly suicidal man.

By the time they arrived, Tarek had already left the premises, darting into the woods

with a gun in hand.

Deputies called for helicopters to search the thick woods, and Tarek was quickly apprehended.

Both Tarek and Christina denied he was suicidal, claiming he had only taken the firearm along

as protection against mountain lions and rattlesnakes.

Still, for the safety of his family, Tarek agreed to turn in his arsenal of weapons,

which included an AR-15 along with four other guns.

That's a lot of mountain lions!

Their marriage was their profession

Though the couple reportedly separated shortly after that bizarre and disturbing incident,

Tarek and Christina didn't announce their separation for another six months.

Instead, they publicly kept the illusion that they were still together and happy, an illusion

which crumbled for good when Tarek filed for divorce, threatening the Flip or Flop brand

they have spent years promoting.

They've both moved on

Tarek and Christina's seemingly amicable separation got a whiff of scandal when TMZ published

a video showing Tarek dating the couple's ex-nanny, who he allegedly fired in a failed

attempt to make their relationship seem less creepy.

They only dated for a month before breaking up, but it was a clear sign that Tarek and

Christina were unlikely to reconcile.

Christina has apparently moved on as well and is reportedly dating a family friend named

Gary Anderson, who met the couple during a backyard renovation.

One potentially awkward twist — Anderson was actually there when Tarek had his meltdown

and ran off, gun in hand, to battle wild cougars.

Bizarre.

The children are the priority

Beyond their professional relationship, Tarek and Christina have another reason to keep

things amicable: their children.

Daughter Taylor and son Brayden are a priority for the pair, who hope to maintain a strong

family unit, although presumably with a new nanny.

They told E! News, "During the process, we are committed to our kids and being the best

parents we can be.

We will continue to work through this process civilly and cooperatively, and plan to continue

our professional life together."

Tarek has since requested joint custody.

Will the show survive?

Of course, all of their efforts to maintain their brand may end up coming to nothing,

because according to reports, the show is going to end in 2017 anyway.

Well, maybe.

Neither the network or the couple has confirmed anything, with official statements still painting

a rosy picture.

So who knows?

For his part, Tarek seems to be taking everything in stride — at least if you believe his

Instagram feed, where he wrote: "Looking back we must ask ourselves what we did right and

what we did wrong.

It's a time to look back and ask ourselves if we took advantage of the year we will never

get back.

For me...2016 was the biggest defining year of my life.

It was a year that will change the destination of my life and I'm ready for the ride."

Only time will tell whether their TV careers turn out to be a flip or a flop.

Dumb Things In The Purge Everyone Just Ignored - Duration: 5:27.

The 2013 horror film The Purge presented a grisly future where — for twelve hours out

of the year — America's government allowed its citizens to legally steal, kill, destroy,

and do whatever they wanted in order to get it out of their systems and have peace for

the other 364 and a half days of each year.

The movie was a massive hit and spawned a horror franchise all its own — but being

a hit doesn't mean it was perfect.

Here are the dumb things in The Purge that everyone just ignored.

The idea

The idea of The Purge is grounded in the ancient Roman festival of Saturnalia — and also

that one episode of Star Trek where everyone goes bananas once the clock strikes six.

But even with these inspirations — the actual concept of The Purge is still pretty bonkers

when think about it for more than a few seconds.

The concept that most people are really just seething rage monsters waiting for a few hours

to come and kill you is troublesome enough.

But let's think about this logistically.

Wouldn't the billions of dollars of property damage caused in this time slot kinda hurt

the economy?

You'd have to imagine property damage and clean-up takes weeks — if not months — to complete.

And the movie tells us that employment rates are so low and stable due to the presence

of The Purge.

But wouldn't so many sudden casualties every year actually cause huge problems for stability

of the workforce?

Or even just getting anything done?

"Sorry, I know we told you last week we'd have the Johnson report for you, but Jimmy

got Purged over the weekend, and I just can't make heads or tails of his filing system."

"Do you know what this thing is?

Because I don't.

Doctor Crampledamps was disemboweled by some goons in masks on Tuesday.

I'm actually just a janitor."

No one's saying that a yearly Purge isn't a great premise for a horror movie.

But don't say the economy's booming because of it.

Unless you sell guns, or creepy masks, or bleach.

You know — to clean up all the stains from the dead people and stuff.

Why wait?

When the yearly Purge rolls around, everyone seems to wait until it's go time to lock their

doors and hunker down for the legal murderfest.

Ethan Hawke's character, James Sandin, is a supposed expert on home security.

He comes home, has dinner with his family like it's any ordinary day, argues with his

kids, and waits until literally four minutes until the start of the Purge to actually pull

the trigger and activate his security system.

That makes…no sense.

Anyone with half a brain in this situation would've been locked and loaded hours before

the chaos commenced to make sure all systems were go.

Code control

It goes without saying that having a Purge happen outside your door, even if it's locked

up tight, is pretty bad.

But the family's real trouble starts when young Max opens up that door to let in the

bloody stranger running around outside asking for help.

The question is, if James such an expert on security, why would he even give his stupid

son the security code to open the door in the first place?

If everyone's inside when the Purge begins, there's no situation where Max would need

to even open the gates.

That's just bad parenting, Dad.

Warning signs

We understand that Max is obviously dealing with some...hmmm...emotional issues related

to the Purge.

But how does that translate to him driving around a remote control car with a literal

burned-up baby doll's head attached to it?

Maybe this is a signal that little Max needs a little therapy or something.

Or at least a less creepy hobby.

And that's really saying something, since it's in a movie based on a national holiday

devoted to murder...

Why stay?

We're told the wealthy citizens of Purgeland world typically hunker down for the night

behind their fancy security systems, while the poor, lower-class citizens take each other out.

But, if you're rich enough to buy this crazy expensive security system — and the Sandins are ---

why not just, like, take an international vacation on that day to avoid the chaos altogether?

The Purge is a US holiday, after all, and there are hundreds of other countries to duck

and cover in for a night.

Take your snotty kids to Australia, or Japan — or just drive north to Canada!

There's no Purges in Toronto!

Just mounties!

And Mike Myers!

Nah, forget it.

That'd be crazy ! Better to just stay home and take your chances.

Makes perfect sense.

"Too much trouble.

We're just gonna lock down, watch some purge events.

Nothing special."

Yeah, why knock yourself out doing something special for national homicide night?

Why the tie?

When the Sandins get the drop on the stranger, they manage to knock him out

But, instead of just dragging the unconscious man outside, James says this:

"We have to get some rope.

And we have to tie him up and get him outside."

But...James was planning to toss the guy outside and let him die anyway.

So why waste any time to try and find a rope to tie him up with when he's already unconscious?

Just chuck him out and fight!

It's not like you'd get in trouble for letting someone die on your property.

It's the Purge, guy!

Live a little!

Dumb luck

The big finale of the film features a great twist, when the Sandins' nice neighbors come

over to save the day — only to reveal they're really there to kill them, because they think

James ripped them off on their security systems!

That's quite a twist!

But it's also kind of hard to believe these rich jerks would actually leave their houses,

even after they spent so much money on those security systems that they're all huffy about.

Why not just send an armed butler or maid to do their dirty work, anyway?

Isn't that what rich people do every other day of the year?

Zero to One by Peter Thiel|Noah's Thoughts|Book Review - Duration: 4:24.

Hello, my name is Noah and today we're talking about "Zero to One" by Peter Thiel.

Now, amongst many other things, Peter Thiel is the co-founder of PayPal.

The contents of this book are actually based off a class he taught at Stanford and in his

own words is intended to be an exercise in critical thinking.

Zero to One refers to vertical progress and what that means is, building something new

as opposed to building upon something that already exists.

I have three main points that I want to share with you today, so let's get started.

The first point I want to talk about are monopolies.

Now, conventional wisdom says that monopolies are bad for competition and we have laws in

place to prevent them.

However, Thiel argues that actually competition is what's holding us back.

Now this seems counterintuitive but let's go over it.

Thiel refers to monopolies as being able to solve unique problems.

Whereas competition has multiple products or services all trying to solve a similar

problem.

If you're a monopoly, that means you're in your own category.

And so the approach that Thiel encourages is to invent or have a product or a service

that is so different and groundbreaking, going from zero to one that it's in its own category.

That it doesn't even have competition.

The second point I want to talk about is dominating small markets.

And this is related to the idea of building a monopoly that I just went over.

Because in order to build a monopoly we have to have a specific market segment that we're

going after.

And so Thiel encourages people to target a small group, a small audience and go after

that and dominate that specific group before moving on.

And if you think this a weird idea, Thiel actually gives examples of how this was implemented.

Facebook, a company that we're all familiar with started off only available for students

at Stanford and that's a campus now with about 16'000 students.

So they specifically focused on that market.

They didn't try and conquer all the universities at once.

They focused on a market that probably at that time was maybe closer to 10'000 students

and tried to dominate that.

And within a very short period of time, they had more than 50% of students using Facebook.

And now Facebook has become a huge company, but it all started very small.

The third and final point that I want to talk about is differentiation.

Thiel mentions how the proprietary technology of your product or service should be at least

10x better than your nearest competitor.

Thiel argues that if you're just slightly better customers aren't going to make big

changes in their buying habits based on slight incremental improvements.

You have to differentiate yourself so much and have technology that is so much better,

that you've essentially created a different market.

You're not even competing with them.

You have to have quality product and service that is completely blowing other products

and services out of the water.

Now, let's go over the positives, negatives, and who I think should be reading this book.

The main thing I love about that this book is that questions everything.

It made me question all the beliefs I had when it comes to conventional wisdom on business.

It's meant to be an exercise in critical thinking and it's definitely exactly that for me.

I had to critically think about my approach to business.

And now to the negatives.

Honestly, I have no negatives for this book.

I loved it so much.

It's my favorite book I've read this year in 2017, so I have no complaints about this

book at all.

If anything, my only criticism would be that it was too short.

Who should be reading this book?

First of all I think high school and university students should definitely check out this

book simply because it's an amazing exercise in critical thinking.

It will make you challenge what you believe to be true.

And give you a better understanding of business.

I also think anybody who's thinking of starting their own business should definitely read

this book because it will help you understand if your product or service has a viable change

of surviving in the market.

And it will help you understand how you should go about developing a business plan.

That's it, that's my book review of "Zero to One" by Peter Thiel.

If you have any questions about this book please let me know in the comments below.

And if you've read this book I'd love to hear your thoughts on it as well.

If you want to see what I talked about here in a written format, or you want more information

on Peter Thiel, please head over to my blog www.noahsachs.net.

Next week I'll be back with another book review.

But until then, keep reading and keep learning.

Illuminati Wannabe Kyrie Irving Belief in the Flat Earth Theory - #FlatEarth - Duration: 1:58.

Hi, welcome, I'm Heathcliff of Lions Ground and I hope you're doing well.

The Illuminati whore basketball player Kyrie Irving claimed 'in an interview that the earth

is flat.

"I knew basketball is not really his sport, he is more likely as a professional Frisbee

player".

When the reporter gave as counter-argument that he has seen pictures of the earth the

future Frisbee player gave as a response that education sold more things as truth but later

proved to be false.

Yeah, I think he should go back to school.

Irving enumerates all sorts of conspiracy theories like a headless chicken, for example

Bob Marley was killed by the CIA with a big zombie smile, and thus makes the average conspiracy

theorist ridiculous.

That's why we have celebrities.

Put them In the media, let them sell crap, a little bit of salt, a little bit of pepper

and a little bit cointelpro.

And then try to open a channel on Youtube on Aliens.
