Waching daily Feb 14 2017

My mom and I are making Valentine's decorations.

And she made these hearts.

And I'm working on this one.

It has red and pink zigzags on it.

And all of these hearts have patterns on them.

[title]

All of these hearts have stripes.

This heart has vertical stripes.

This heart has diagonal stripes.

And this heart has horizontal stripes.

This one isn't exactly striped because

these are wavy lines.

And so these wavy lines are like curves that go like this.

My mom made these ones, too.

And this heart has polka dots on it.

And this one has a checkered pattern on it.

A checkered pattern is just squares, but they're two different colors

...on each one.

These hearts are plain.

And this is solid red. And this is solid pink.

Clothing can have many different patterns or designs,

but I usually wear solid colors like black and gray.

I wanted to make a heart with a plaid pattern on it, like my shirt right here...

and...but it was kind of hard to make.

There are some shirts in my closet that I never wear,

like this plaid shirt.

This is my dad's. It's a blue checkered shirt.

Sometimes I wear this striped tie for special occasions, like school concerts.

This is a doll, and I don't really play with it.

But it has a polka-dot dress.

What kinds of patterns do you like to wear?

Anything that repeats is a pattern, like these colors.

Thanks for watching.

And Happy Valentine's Day!

I have a confession to make... But first,

I want you to make a little confession to me.

In the past year, why don't you just raise your hand if you've experience relatively

little stress? Anyone? Um-hmm... How about a moderate amount of stress?

Who's experienced a lot of stress? Yeah, me too. But

that is not my confession. My confession is this... I am a health psychologist, and

my mission is to help people be happier and healthier. But I fear that something

I've been teaching for the last ten years is doing more harm than good, and

it has to do with stress. For years I've been telling people stress makes you sick.

It increases the risk of everything from the common cold to cardiovascular disease.

Basically, I've turned stress into the enemy. But

I have changed my mind about stress. And today I want to change yours.

Let me start with the study that made me rethink my whole approach to stress.

This study tracked 30,000 adults in the United States for

eight years. And they started by asking people, How much stress have you

experienced in the last year? They also asked, Do you believe

that stress is harmful for your health? And then they used

public death records to find out who died. [AUDIENCE LAUGHTER] Okay,

some bad news first. People who experience a lot of stress in the previous year had

a 43% increased risk of dying. But that was

only true for the people who also believed that stress is harmful for your health.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHTER] People who experienced a lot of stress,

but did not view stress as harmful, were no more likely to die.

In fact, they had the lowest risk of dying of anyone in the study.

Including people who had relatively little stress. Now, the researchers estimated

that over the eight years they were tracking deaths, 182,000 Americans

died prematurely--not from stress, but from the belief that stress is bad for

you. [AUDIENCE LAUGHTER]. That is over 20,000 deaths a year. Now,

if that estimate is correct, that would make believing stress is bad for

you the 15th largest cause of death in the United States last year,

killing more people than skin cancer, HIV/AIDS, and

homicide. [AUDIENCE LAUGHTER] You can see why the study freaked me out. Here,

I've been spending so much energy telling people stress is bad for

your health. So, this study got me wondering...

Can changing how you think about stress make you healthier? And

here the science says yes. When you change your mind about stress,

you can change your body's response to stress. Now, to explain how this works,

I want all to pretend that you are participants in a study designed to stress

you out. It's called the Social Stress Test. You come in to the laboratory, and

you're told you have to give a five-minute, impromptu speech on your

personal weaknesses to a panel of expert evaluators sitting right in front of you.

And to make sure you feel the pressure, there are bright lights and

a camera in your face, kind of like this. And...the evaluators

have been trained to give you discouraging nonverbal feedback, like this...

[AUDIENCE LAUGHTER]. [DISAPPROVING LOUD BREATH].

[AUDIENCE LAUGHTER]. Now that you're sufficiently demoralized,

time for part two--a math test. And, unbeknownst to you, the experimenter has

been trained to harass you during it. Now, we're going to all do this together.

It's going to be fun. For me. [AUDIENCE LAUGHTER] Okay. [AUDIENCE LAUGHTER] I

want you all to count backwards from 996 in increments of seven.

You're going to do this out loud, as fast as you can.

Starting with 996. Go. [AUDIENCE CROSSTALK] Go faster!

Faster, please. You're going too slow. Stop, stop,

stop, stop. That guy made a mistake. We are going to have to start all over again.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHTER] You're not very good at this, are you? Okay, so

you get the idea. Now, if you were actually in this study,

you'd probably be a little stressed out. Your heart might be pounding,

you might be breathing faster, maybe breaking out into a sweat. And, normally,

we interpret these physical changes as anxiety, or

signs that we aren't coping very well with the pressure. But what if you

viewed them instead as signs that your body was energized? Was preparing you to

meet this challenge? Now, that is exactly what participants were told in this study

conducted at Harvard University. Before they went through the Social Stress Test,

they were taught to rethink their stress response as helpful. That pounding heart

is preparing you for action. If you are breathing faster, it's no problem.

It's getting more oxygen to your brain. And participants who learned to view

the stress response as helpful for their performance--well,

they were less stressed out, less anxious, more confident. But

the most fascinating finding to me was how their physical stress response changed.

Now, in a typical stress response, your heart rate goes up and

your blood vessels constrict like this. And

this is one of the reasons that chronic stress is sometimes associated with

cardiovascular disease. It's not really healthy to be in this state all the time.

But in the study, when participants viewed their stress response as helpful,

their blood vessels stayed relaxed like this. Their heart was still pounding,

but this is a much healthier cardiovascular profile.

It actually looks a lot like what happens in moments of joy and courage.

Over a lifetime of stressful experiences, this one biological change

could be the difference between a stress-induced heart attack at age 50 and

living well into your 90s. And this is really what the new science of stress

reveals--that how you think about stress matters. So, my goal

as a health psychologist has changed. I no longer want to get rid of your stress.

I want to make you better at stress. And we just did a little intervention.

If you raised your hand and said you'd had a lot of stress in the last year,

we could have saved your life. Because, hopefully, the next time your heart is

pounding from stress, you're going to remember this talk--and you're going to

think to yourself, This is my body helping me rise to this challenge.

And when you view stress in that way, your body believes you. And your stress

response becomes healthier. Now, I said I have over a decade of demonizing

stress to redeem myself from. So, we are going to do one more intervention.

I want to tell you about one of most underappreciated aspects of

the stress response, and the idea is this... Stress makes you social.

To understand this side of stress, we need to talk about a hormone, oxytocin. And

I know oxytocin has already gotten as much hype as a hormone can get.

It even has its own cute nickname--the cuddle hormone. Because it's released when

you hug someone. But, this is a very small part of what oxytocin is involved in.

Oxytocin is a neurohormone. It fine tunes your brain's social instincts.

It primes you to do things that strengthen close relationships.

Oxytocin makes you crave physical contact with your friends and

family. It enhances your empathy. It even makes you more willing to help and

support the people you care about. Some people have even suggested we should

snort oxytocin [INHALING SOUND] to become more compassionate and caring. But

here's what most people don't understand about oxytocin--it's a stress hormone.

Your pituitary gland pumps this stuff out as part of the stress response.

It's as much a part of your stress response as the adrenaline that makes your

heart pound. And when oxytocin is released in the stress response,

it is motivating you to seek support. Your biological stress response is

nudging you to tell someone how you feel, instead of bottling it up.

Your stress response wants to make sure you notice when someone else in your life

is struggling, so that you can support each other. When life is difficult,

your stress response wants you to be surrounded by people who care about you.

Okay, so how is knowing this side of stress going to make you healthier?

Well, oxytocin doesn't only act on your brain.

It also acts on your body. And one of its main

roles in your body is to protect your cardiovascular system from the effects of

stress. It's a natural anti-inflammatory. It also helps your

blood vessels stay relaxed during stress. But my favorite effect on the body is

actually on the heart. Your heart has receptors for this hormone. And

oxytocin helps heart cells regenerate, and heal from any stress induced damage.

This stress hormone strengthens your heart. And the cool thing is,

is that all of these physical benefits of oxytocin are enhanced by social

contact and social support. So, when you reach out to others, under stress,

either to seek support or to help someone else, you release more of this hormone.

Your stress response becomes healthier, and

you actually recover faster from stress. I find this amazing,

that your stress response has a built-in mechanism for stress resilience.

And that mechanism is human connection. I want to finish by telling

you about one more study, and listen up, because this study could also save a life.

This study tracked about a thousand adults in the United States and they ranged

in age from 34 to 93. And they started the study by asking, How much stress

have you experienced in the last year? They also asked,

How much time have you spent helping out friends, neighbors,

people in your community? And then they used public records for

the next five years to find out who died. Okay, so the bad news first.

For every major stressful life experience, like financial difficulties or

family crisis, that increased the risk of dying by 30%.

But--and I hope you are expecting a 'but' by now... But that wasn't true for

everyone. People who spent time caring for

others showed absolutely no stress related increase in dying.

Zero. Caring created resilience.

And so, we see once again that the harmful effects of stress on your health are not

inevitable. How you think and how you act can transform

your experience of stress. When you choose to view your stress response

as helpful, you create the biology of courage. And

when you choose to connect with others under stress, you can create resilience.

Now, I wouldn't necessarily ask for more stressful experiences in my life,

but this science has given me a whole new appreciation for

stress. Stress gives us access to our hearts.

The compassionate heart that finds joy and

meaning in connecting with others, and, yes, your pounding physical heart,

working so hard to give you strength and energy. And when

you choose to view stress in this way, you're not just getting better at stress,

you're actually making a pretty profound statement.

You're saying that you can trust yourself to handle life's challenges.

And, you're remembering that you

don't have to face them alone. Thank you.

[APPLAUSE] Thank you.

[APPLAUSE].

>> This is kind of amazing what you're telling us.

It seems amazing to me that a belief about stress can make so much difference to

someone's life expectancy. How would that extend to advice, like if someone

is making a lifestyle choice between, say, a stressful job and a non-stressful job?

Is it, does it matter that which way they go? It's equally wise to go for

the stressful job, so long as you believe that you can handle it in some sense?

>> Yeah. And one thing we know for certain is that chasing meaning is better for your

health than trying to avoid discomfort. And so, I would say that's really the best

way to make decisions, is go after what it is that creates meaning in your life, and

then trust yourself to handle the stress that follows. >> Thank you so much, Kelly.

>> Indeed. >> That was pretty cool.

[APPLAUSE].

Alien Spaceship moving out of funnel cloud

A UFO emerging from a cloud or arriving via a wormhole, this may be true but there is

a more logical explanation for what photographer Helio C. Vital from Rio de Janeiro captured

on February 7, 2017.

Meteorologists call this type of cloud a tuba - a swirling mass of moist air that can hang

down from an active thunderstorm.

A tuba that touches the ground gets a new name: tornado, said spaceweather.

This tuba which appeared about a half hour before sunset was part of a thunderstorm cell

that was approaching.

Fortunately this tuba did not reach the ground.

WHAT TO WITH WILDLIFE ENCOUNTERS AT DENALI - Duration: 5:12.

almost every visitor who comes to Denali

hopes to experience wildlife up close if

it happens for you while you're out

walking or cycling the park has

regulations and expectations about how

you need to conduct yourself understand

it's not our purpose to scare or

discourage you from exploring the

special place on your own

the simplest and most important thing to

remember is this if your presence

changes the behavior of any wild animal

you are too close in this park

the official minimum safe distance that

you need to maintain from most wild

animals is 25 yards imagine the length

of two shuttle buses parked end-to-end

if an animal wanders within that gap the

park expects you to move to maintain a

distance of at least 25 yards

please respect that distance both for

your safety and to help keep wild

animals healthy and wild while they may

seem tame as they browse willow and

shrubs most are huge and highly

temperamental creatures if I most

charges you run away get behind a tree

or car or any available large object zig

and zag put as much distance between you

and the moose as quickly as possible if

a wolf ever pays more than passing

attention to you while you're out

walking around this Park wants you to be

rude to it

yell at play your arms around don't get

any incentive to become conditioned to

people here in Denali you might have

guessed that there's one big exception

to the 25-yard rule in this park if

you're walking around outside of

building or you're more than six feet

from a hard-sided vehicle that you can

jump inside you must not come within 300

yards of a bear imagine the length of

three football fields or 24 shuttle

buses parked end-to-end if you are

walking in an area where you can't see

for 300 yards around you make noise to

avoid surprise encounters you can talk

sing songs clap hands from time to time

choose something that you can do without

strain for a sustained period for this

purpose unfortunately barabels from

souvenir shops are not proven to be

especially effective if you see a bear

closer than 300 yards too and it hasn't

noticed you yet the smartest thing that

you can do is move in another direction

without calling attention to yourself if

you're in a spot where a bear has

noticed you stay calm

do not run predators are hard-wired to

chase after things you need to keep your

instincts and check to keep from

triggering the instincts that are built

into that bear so stay calm

do not run if you're with a group of

people gathered together raise and

gently wave your arms to make yourself

look a little bigger

the best thing you can do for yourself

in this situation talk through it

nothing else in the outdoors sounds like

the human voice there's no need to yell

or hard to make yourself understood what

you have to say to the bear really

doesn't matter so long as you stay put

and stay calm

do not drop your pack as a distraction

and allow a bear to obtain a food reward

from you that animal if it learns to

shake down other hikers may be destined

for very unpleasant control measures or

worse if matters escalate it's vital

that you stand your ground

stay calm do not run in the

extraordinary circumstance in which

physical contact becomes imminent or

crizzly bear actually knocks you down

do not resist tuck your knees to your

chest interlace your fingers around the

back of your neck and keep your pack on

your back to protect your spine let the

bear deal with you as a perceived threat

if the attack persists interns predatory

though right back with anything you have

left

there's an important distinction to make

here between grizzly bears and black

bears both exist here in Denali

Grizzlies typically have a disc-shaped

face black bears usually have a more

pointed and distinctive Roman nose

Grizzlies have a large home between

their shoulders

it's all muscle they used to route up

the tundra black bears have no such hump

if you have an encounter with a black

bear in Denali that follows our stock

shoot be prepared to skip all of the

niceties and fight back immediately if

you're going to be in Alaska long enough

to invest in pepper spray ask a park

ranger how to use it safely and be sure

to tell bus drivers that you're carrying

it so they can store it securely before

you climb on board if you have an

encounter with any wild animal during

your time here in Denali it's important

that you report the incident to a park

ranger as soon as possible

this information is critical to park

managers who strive to keep both people

and Wildlife healthy and safe to learn

[ENG SUB] 2017年一/二月美妝愛用品 | Jan/Feb Beauty Favorites 2017 | Rebecca Yeh - Duration: 19:20.

Hello everyone, I'm Rebecca, welcome to my channel, and today this is my first video.

I always like to watch Youtube beauty videos and I personally like to follow beauty brands and collect beauty products

watching these beautiful toys makes me really happy, they are literally my spiritual food.

So today I want to join this community chatting with you guys about beauty products, sharing my toys,

also making a record of my beauty collection.

Today my first video is going to share my Jan/Feb favorites of 2017

Before we start, let me specify my skin type and skin conditions

I am combo to oily and acne prone skin

Also some acne scars and freckles on my cheeks so I got problems of uneven skin tone

Some dark circles, fine lines and puffiness under my eyes

So let's get started!!!

The first product is an exfoliating cleansing powder from a Japanese brand called Detclear.

I got this in a drugstore from the trip to Japan this past summer.

This brand makes many exfoliating products.

It contains AHA and BHA

For combo to oily skin, it is really a great product.

I feel like it really cleansed my pores

My skin is like breathing

I use it every night and I have noticed that my skin texture has been smoothed out.

After using it, my skin did not dry out or anything like that

it left moisture on my skin

So I think for combo to oily skins, this is a great product to gently and mildly exfoliate your skin everyday

Next one is morning cleansing wipes from a Japanese brand called SANA.

I also got this from the trip to Japan

I noticed that such cleansing wipes with multiple functions in it is trending in Japan.

The functions include cleansing, toning, and exfoliating.

It looks like this and I think the size of it is pretty decent to use.

I usually use one side of it to gently cleanse all my face.

The other side of it I used it as a toning sheet mask on those dry areas on my forehead.

The size is decent to cover my forehead.

I feel like the wipes are effective in cleansing my face.

I use this when my face is not that oily or dirty in the mornings

On the wipe I can clearly see those dirts or fibers that have been removed from my face

Also the moisturizing effect is nice when it is used as a toning sheet mask

To combo to oily skins, it is not sticky to the touch.

Though this is my first time using cleansing wipes, I still recommend this product.

Next is my favorite eye cream from a Korean brand called Etude House.

It is from their Honey Cera collection.

It is 20 ml which is larger than regular eye creams on the market.

The reason I like this is because it has this metal applicator.

This design can pinpoint the inner corner of my eyes to gently massage those areas.

The cooling effect of the metal applicator helps smooth out my puffiness.

The transparent gel-like texture is easy to absorb.

It did not cause me any allergic reaction like tingling whatsoever.

So I think this eye cream is really good at giving hydration before makeup.

But for eye cream used at nights I prefer something a little heavier cream-like texture

to better deal with problems like fine lines.

So this is a great moisturizing eye cream.

Next I got the treatment lip oil from the same brand Etude House.

It looks like it is the same Honey Cera collection.

I think it is similar to the lip oil from Clarins.

I also got the Clarins one but I found my favorite brand got a similar product

I figure I can give it a try to see if it can be the dupe for the Clarins one since this is much cheaper.

I think this is also pretty good at moisturizing.

The applicator is also similar to that of Clarins one, well, it is almost the same.

It is easy to apply the oil.

Sometimes I was lazy to apply lip mask I then used this lip oil

Yet I also found my lips are moisturizing next morning.

It feels like my lips have absorbed those ingredients, making my lips nourished.

When I went out without any makeups, I still apply this on my lips.

Because I feel like it can smooth out my lip wrinkles and make me look spirited.

So this is really a good lip treatment oil.

Next I got the primer from NYX.

It is a color correcting primer.

The texture is gel-like.

The purple is really subtle, you are not really seeing the color when you blend out.

The gel-like texture is easy to blend.

The effect of this primer is slightly correcting my dullness.

The texture helps blur out my pores and smooth out the fine lines and some tiny skin imperfections.

So this primer can altogether solve my skin problems before makeup.

uneven skin tone and tiny skin imperfections.

So this is a great and inexpensive primer.

Next is my favorite foundation from Chanel.

This was launched not long ago ( in Taiwan) called Les Beige Healthy Glow foundation.

My shade is N21.

I found this shade in the US.

I have tried 10 and 20 in Taiwan but I found both of them too pink and too warm.

So this N21 is more yellow tone which is better suited for our Asian skin tones.

The texture is watery and lightweight.

Thought lightweight, it provides medium to high coverage.

With one layer on, I can get medium coverage.

To those areas I want to cover more, I can build it up to high coverage.

It's not going to look heavy with many layers on because it is really lightweight.

The finish is matte with some natural glow.

I am wearing this foundation today and I did not wear any concealers.

The foundation covers really naturally

I don't like the finish that looks heavily covered.

So I think the finish is like your own skin but better.

For combo to oily skins, it won't show whiteheads when you have the foundation on.

After removing the foundation, I did not experience any breakouts.

Let me check the notes.....

The lasting effect is quite nice.

I have also used this in the summer in Taiwan (hot&humid).

With the foundation on about 8 hrs, it did produce oil and made me shine

But the oil was naturally blended with my foundation, making the finish creamy-like.

It was not flaky or melting off anything like that.

It's also hydrating

Sometimes I have dry patches on my forehead with some foundations

But this foundation I did not experience such problem so far.

So this foundation basically satisfies all my needs.

It is expensive though

I really like this foundation as it provides the finish I have been searching for.

Lightweight, medium to high coverage and matte finish with natural glow (satin finish)

Really like using this.

Next I got the eyeshadow palette from Ciate London.

My shade is the pretty palette.

There are nine shades.

These four shades and this highlighting shade in the middle are matte.

And these four shades are shimmer shades.

The color selection is the reason I like this palette.

There are pink, purple and the warm orange shade which is trending now

Also the gray black shade can be used as eyeliner shade and these shimmer shades.

These colors can create many looks.

It got cool tone shades, warm tone shades and some neutral shades here.

These are the swatches.

The powders are creamy and the pigmentation is great

They are also easy to blend

But for these matte shades you have to build up the colors and blend them

And they are easy to blend out

They can last all day long

I have tried using primer on one eye and no primer on the other eye

I found the eye without primer was a bit creasing but you have to look very close to see that

So their lasting power is pretty nice

I am wearing the pink shade and the purple shade on my eyelids

And I used the warm orange shade to blend those two colors together

For eyeliner, I used the liquid eyeliner first

then mixed the purple and the gray black shade together and layer them on the line to make it look more natural

For the under eyes, I used this shimmer shade on my inner corner to make the look pop

then used the dark purple shade on my outer corner, tapping the color lightly and blending it

I think the shade selection is great for all the seasons so I really like it!!!

Next is the blush palette from Hourglass

This is a recently launched limited edition.

There are three shades, peachy pink, nude gold, and purple plum.

I have swatched them here, starting with the peachy pink, nude gold and then purple plum.

I am wearing the purple plum shade on my cheeks

They are really pigmented so you have to apply them lightly

Use a fluffy blush brush and lightly tap the color

then you can get a really good pigmentation

and they blend like a dream

But remember to apply it with a light hand

or you will get a color block on your cheeks but they are still easy to blend out

And everyone knows that Hourglass's powders are soft and buttery

The shimmers are not chalky

The marbling is for highlighting

So you get three blush shades and some natural highlights

If you don't want to use any highlighters but still want some natural glows you can get that effect by using this

And the most amazing pros of this is the longevity

The colors are always there all day long

So I really like using this and the shade selection is also versatile

You can mix them together or they can complement different looks

So this is really a useful blush palette

Next is a contouring palette from Etude House.

This is also a recently launched product and there are three shades in it.

There is a picture showing you how to do contouring.

Starting from highlight shade, nose contouring shade, and deeper contouring shade.

These are the swatches of them.

This highlight shade is good for everyday look, creating a natural glow.

But the powder quality of this highlight shade is not that buttery as the Hourglass one

So if you apply it without a light hand this shade might show your skin texture

I like these two contouring shades as they are really soft and buttery so they blend very well

This nose contouring shade is more yellow tone so it blends naturally with our Asian skin tones.

I am wearing this nose contouring shade and I think it looks quite naturally, blending into my skin tone

I am also wearing the deeper contouring shade on my cheek bones here

So overall this is a good palette for everyday look.

Soft and buttery powders, easy to blend, colors are great for Asian skin tones.

Next is the powder compact from a Korean brand called Eglips.

The black compact one from this collection is more popular in Korea.

This pink one is infused with some shimmers in it.

But actually there really isn't any shimmers showing when I look at it

And it looks pink in the pan but when applied on my face it doesn't show pink either.

It gives a bit of brightening effect.

I used this as an under eye brightening setting powder.

Because under eye setting powder needs to be soft and buttery and not drying,

It also provides some brightening effect.

It can also be used as whole face setting powder to brighten and smoothen some fine lines and pores.

So I recently like using this and it is also great for touch-up when you are out as it is compact and lightweight

Next I got the lipsticks from Cover Girl.

I am wearing these two shades on my lips.

I use the peachy shade as the base and then the pink shade on the center of my lips.

The texture is really creamy so they are easy to apply and the color payoff is also great.

Yet if you have dry lips or lip wrinkles it might show through.

I really like it because its lasting powder is great.

If you do not use tissue to wipe them off the colors will linger on your lips all day long

So I am really liking them as these two shades complement together.

I also got many other shades from this collection, the nudes, the reds, and the purple pinks.

They are all great to use individually or together.

But these two shades are my go-to shades as they can go with many different looks.

They are really versatile, like them!!!!

Next is the sculpting brush from Real Techniques.

The bristles are dense and soft, not stiff

I usually use it as foundation brush and contouring brush

When used as foundation brush, the angle of it can easily buff in the foundation along these tiny areas.

It completes the base really fast without any streaks.

When used as contouring brush, also the angle helps buff the shades along the cheek bones

It's easy to pick up the colors but no color block whatsoever when put on your face.

It blends out very well so overall a great brush.

Real techniques makes great quality yet inexpensive brushes.

Last but not least is my favorite perfume from Jo Malone.

I pick up this at an outlet recently and this is plum blossom.

This scent is fresh and sweet.

The top notes are like fruity plum, not overly sweet.

The middle notes are flowers of the fruit plum that blossom, a bit of floral,

not overly powdery or sickly heavy to make you dizzy.

I feel like the image of the scent

take Disney princess

it reminds me of Rapunzel

a pure and fresh temperament with some sweetness

It is great for spring and summer as this was launched in 2015 summer

But I think this is also great for winter

Because the sweetness in it can bring out some warm to you

and the fresh scent is nicely mingled with the cool air, bringing a refreshing feeling.

So overall the scent is freshly sweet which is my favorite kind of scent.

A bit sweetness and that sweetness won't get you dizzy, leaving you refreshed.

But the only cons for me is the longevity of the scent. It lasts only about 3 hrs on me.

But I still love it and it has 100 ml so it can last me for a while.

When I smelled it at the outlet I felt like I need to take this as this is really a scent that I rarely encounter.

Really love this one!!!

2017 Wrap Up | Books 6-11 [CC] - Duration: 7:56.

Hey guys, so today's video is going to be

my wrap-up for books six through eleven of 2017.

I have three books and three manga

to talk about. So yeah, let's get started.

So the sixth book I read in 2017 was

Bird Box by Josh Malerman. This is a

supposedly horror novel. I've seen some

people say it's the most terrifying

book they've ever read. That was not the

case for me, but I did end up actually

really enjoying this and I found it was

more enjoyable when I thought of it more

as a mystery rather than a horror novel,

because this was not scary in the

slightest. I've read scary stories

on the internet that are way scarier than

this. So for me it failed

as a horror novel but I did really

enjoy reading it more for the mystery.

It's a dual timeline novel, so the

present is four years after these

creatures have appeared- and if you see

them you die- and then the other

timeline is right when they first appear

as the main character is trying to survive.

I gave this book 3 stars, just

because it's marketed as a horror novel,

it's supposed to be a horror novel, but it

did absolutely nothing to scare me at

all. When I read a

horror novel, I want to be scared. I want

to really be scared, and this did

nothing for me in that sense, but I did

really enjoy reading it. I think some

people complained about the ending, but I

actually liked the ending as well. I feel

like that was the only way it could have

ended. This book also made me

think a lot, because the

characters... they can't look at things

otherwise they are in danger of seeing

one of the creatures and dying, so you

don't know whether the things they are

experiencing are actually happening or

whether they're imagining it.

I think that's what scares people. It

didn't scare me, but it made me think

about stuff. So yeah, I did really enjoy

this, but again, I could only give it three

stars because it's supposed to be scary

and it wasn't. But I did really like

it and I would recommend it.

Next I read Attack on Titan 11 and 12. I can

show you the cover of this one because

it's not too bad but the other

one is really bad. I've been reading Attack on

Titan, I'm trying to catch up with the

manga so I can read it with along with

the monthly releases and these two I enjoyed.

Volume 11 is more just like a

flight volume which... I know some people,

when they're reading shounen manga, they

prefer the fights and I don't. I prefer

the story elements, especially in this

series.

I mean, I like just looking at the scary

Titans, but the actual fight scenes don't

really do much for me. I have been

enjoying learning more about this Attack

on Titan world and mysteries are being

cleared up and introduced, so I'm liking

that. It's just that these are both

basically fight volumes and I could take

that or leave that, so I gave you these

like 3 stars.

Nect book I read was Room by Emma

Donoghue. It was told from the

perspective of a five-year-old boy and

all he knows is this room he's lived in

for his entire life and he lives there

with his mother. I don't know how

to review this book. I still haven't

written my review for it on Goodreads

because I don't know how to explain my

thoughts on this.

I can't even say whether or not I enjoyed

it. It definitely made me think. I

don't know whether it would have been

better if it wasn't told from the

perspective of the five-year-old boy.

There were some things that I felt

fit that but then there were some that

didn't. Like sometimes... This boy's voice was

very monotonous and not very emotional,

even though he's in a very emotional

situation, so sometimes I kind of zoned

out and had to reread things because his

voice is all the same the entire time.

But I don't know whether I would say that's

a bad thing or not. I can't even say

whether I liked it or not. I guess I gave

it four stars on Goodreads. I have not

seen the movie so I think I'm going to

do that if I go get the chance to and

then maybe

I'll have different thoughts on this. I don't

know. I don't regret reading it, I

don't feel like it was a waste of time

or anything, I just don't really know how

to portray my thoughts on this.

Next I read Toriko volume 9. This is more manga.

So I'm loving Toriko a lot. I may have

bought all the volumes that are out right now

because I'm liking it so much. But yeah,

it's more shounen manga. I love to read shounen

manga and I'm really loving this.

This volume is more adventure and set up

for the next volume, which will be a

pretty big volume- I mean in terms of

like fighting and stuff. It's shounen

battle manga, I don't really know what

else to say about it.

I do still love all the creatures and

things and the lore for this world and

stuff I really enjoy.

I'm liking Torko, I will keep

reading Toriko. And then lastly in this

wrap-up is The Rest of Us Just Live Here

by Patrick Ness. So the synopsis is... this

takes place in a world where all

the other YA novels kind of take place

basically, so they're constantly

experiencing these really weird

phenomenon. The main

characters in this never have to deal

with that, they're not those characters.

There are other characters

in this book that we don't focus on

that have to deal with all those things

and these are just people that exist in

that world. This is very much a

contemporary book with some sci-fi

elements, I would say, but they're

definitely not the main focus. This is

definitely a contemporary book focusing

on friendship. There is a romance in

this book which normally I don't like

contemporary and I really don't like

contemporary romance, but I like the way

this was handled. It's very rare for

me to enjoy a romance in a contemporary

book, guys. It's very rare for me to enjoy

a contemporary book at all, and I did actually

really enjoy this. The most important thing for

me to tell you about this book is that

it feels very realistic. The main

character feels like a teenager.

This is told in first-person point of

view, which usually I find very very

boring, but I did not find this one

boring.

I actually really felt like- the guy's

name is Mike- Mike's voice was... it was a voice

of a real human and not a computer, which

I feel happens sometimes.

I just really love the characters and

all the friendships and I feel like this

is a very realistic book that focuses on

friendship and family and loneliness.

I feel like that's a thing. I don't know, it

feels like a very realistic portrayal of

what it's like to be a teenager. I gave

this a 4 out of 5 stars because I did

really enjoy it. I would

recommend it if you like Patrick Ness. I

don't know if I'd recommend this if you

like contemporary, because I don't like

contemporary and I enjoyed it, so I don't

know. If you're just looking for a

friendship story,

that's what I would recommend. So yeah, those are

books six through eleven in my 2017 wrap

up. Let me know your thoughts on any of

the books I had to show you today in this

video. If you're interested, my

Goodreads and Twitter are in the description,

otherwise I'll see you guys in the next

video. Bye!
