This song, is a song for peace and my personal prayer. Nothing more, nothing less.
Shma Israel Adonai Eloheinu Adonai Echad Echad Echad Echad
They call him god, you call him Allah, we call him Adonai.
He has an unending list of names that describe his power,
since the dawn of man he has been trying to put this power into words, but is overpowered by its glory.
How many books were written in his name?
How many leaders used them for their own aims?
How many humans were persecuted for their faith,
tortured for their faith, murdered for their faith?
Everyone insists to possess the truth,
wrong prophets managed to enslave our minds.
To command us and use us for their purposes,
unknowingness and fear keep this circle in force.
But now the time has come to build bridges.
A man of the people will rise to carry the load on his back.
And the same way god gave the hand more than just one finger,
he gave mankind more than one way to reach god.
There is only one god - that is what I believe in
Love your neighbor as you love yourself - that is what I believe in
Moses' Ten Commandments - that is what I believe in
Life is just a test - that is what I believe in
There is only one god - that is what I believe in
Love your neighbor as you love yourself - that is what I believe in
Moses' Ten Commandments - that is what I believe in
Life is just a test - that is what I believe in
Even if all my words just fall on deaf ears and don't interest any one,
they still remain real, 'cause they're descended from above.
I make enemies when I write lines like these,
my face is in the crosshairs, but I know that I'm not alone.
Because god is by my side,
I don't mean an old guy with a beard,
who hangs out chilling on a cloud and twiddling his thumbs, as Hollywood would make us believe.
I mean the omnipotence, the endless energy,
the uncontrollable elemental force that flows through every body.
In China it's called Qi, in Mecca Al-Khaliq,
science calls it the mysterious circle number Pi,
far away from space and time, beyond love and hate,
two triangles that are merging together upside down.
Amen, it's the Yin & Yang,
with thirteen years of age I experienced my Bar Mitzvah and made sense of it all,
but the same way god gave the hand more than just one finger,
he gave mankind more than one way to reach god.
There is only one god - that is what I believe in
Love your neighbor as you love yourself - that is what I believe in
Moses' Ten Commandments - that is what I believe in
Life is just a test - that is what I believe in
There is only one god - that is what I believe in
Love your neighbor as you love yourself - that is what I believe in
Moses' Ten Commandments - that is what I believe in
Life is just a test - that is what I believe in
Since man can think he has been pursuing the meaning of life,
he looks up to the stars and still can't find a simple answer,
he feels godlike but yet small in the universe,
he knows not where he is going neither where he came from,
but he senses that there is a higher power above,
A force that runs through every fiber of his body,
A force that created everything out of nothing,
Christians call it Our Father,
Indians call it Mother Nature,
but those are merely words invented by us humans,
in order to explain something unknown to us,
and that exceeds our power of imagination many times over,
the reason why all religions remain fraternized.
Amen, this is the quintessence,
it closes the circle from Abraham to Mohammed and everything falls into place,
for the same way god gave the hand more than just one finger,
he gave mankind more than one way to reach god.
