Hello boys and girls, young and old. Welcome to yet another action figure video review.
Today we'll take a look at Tranformers Generation Toy J4zz aka Jazz!
And as you can see, Jazz comes with a small box.
Top and right you see the logo of the company, Generation Toy.
A nice artwork of Jazz on the front of the box that goes until the bottom.
Nothing special on the sides of the box.
On the top side of the box you see the logo of the company.
And on the back side of the box you see some warnings.
Enough with the box, let's see the instructions from close.
And here are the instructions of Jazz. His transformation is a little bit complicated.
And this is the back side of the instructions.
So let's see the figure from close now.
And here we have Jazz in his awesome vehicle mode. I like his vehicle mode very much.
It's a very beautiful figure. It reminds me a lot of Reveal The Shield Jazz.
He is not based on the G1 character, he has a more modern look compared to the G1 cartoon.
This version looks beautiful as well. Jazz comes with this gun. You can store it in this hole here.
It can also move up and down, it doesn't rotate though.
The mirrors and the tyres are made of a rubber material
while his spoiler is made of flexible plastic, if I can use this word.
Generally, he has nice details.
He has nice silver rims. The headlights are transparent plastic.
Rear lights, red colour. The exhaust pipes.
The bottom view of the car. There are no robotic parts visible here.
Also, the doors can open. Though, you can't place a human to sit in here.
There is a magnet here and there is a metallic object here. So the doors close via the magnet. Nice feature!
So let's see a size comparison now.
Here is Jazz next to G2 Masterpiece Sideswipe.
As you can see, Jazz is Masterpiece scaled. That's very good.
So let's see if he can fit inside Optimus Prime's trailer.
As you can see he fits perfectly.
So let's transform Jazz into his robot mode. I will ask my buddy Stefanos to do it, Stefanos?
- Hello from me as well. First, bring the wheels out as much as you can.
Bring this piece down, it tabs in these holes here.
Bring this bit up and it will tab in this hole here.
Bring this piece down as well. Bring these weapons out.
This is the hardest part of the transformation. The way they are stored in there...
So, bring them out.
Open the doors. Take one arm and pull it outwards.
Do the same thing to the other side as well. Open the door, take the arm and pull it outwards.
Lift the wheels completely up, like this. It has a double-joint here. We will try to bring it up.
I don't know if you will be able to see this from the camera. Like this.
Leave it like this for now. Bring the windows down.
Bring these bits up. Disconnect the top section of the car. Bring it forward.
Disconnect the spoiler. Disconnect the legs.
Bring this bit down, move it to the side. Do the same thing to the other side as well.
Fold out the leg until the middle. Put this window inside here.
Open this piece. Tab it inwards. Now we can straighten the leg.
This is the most complicated part of the leg transformation.
Rotate the toe. Bring out the heel. And bring this piece out to complete the toe.
Close this piece, it will tab in here. Open this panel. And bring it down.
One leg is ready. Do the same thing to the other side as well.
Once you've done it, bring these pieces down. Rotate the waist 180 degrees.
Bring Jazz's head up, try to bring it out through this space here.
It has two panels here. Bring them up.
They don't tab anywhere, they just sit like this to fill the gap on the sides of the body.
Close this piece. This piece will tab in here.
It will be easier if we put the finger from inside and push it.
As for the head, open this piece and this peg will tab in this hole here.
Pull the arms downwards. Rotate them. Open this panel, bring the fist out and close it again.
Do the same thing to the other side as well.
Bring these weapons to the front. Place the wheels the way you like.
As for his backpack, this piece will close inwards and this piece will stay like this.
And Jazz is ready in his awesome robot mode.
And this is Jazz in his awesome robot mode. Very nice figure. Very good job!
I will give you a closer look on his face.
Classic Jazz. Very nice headsculpt. He also has very nice light-piping.
Let's see his articulation now. His head can rotate 360 degrees, it's on a ball-joint.
It can move up, it can't move down, it doesn't tilt left and right.
His arms can move up and down, they rotate 360 degrees, you can move these weapons the way you like.
They rotate at this point, they bend at the elbow, we can say he has double-joint at the elbow.
There is fist rotation, the hand can open-close as one piece. There is a waist rotation.
These pieces can move up so the leg can move freely. The leg can move back and forth, up and down,
rotate at the knee, bend at the knee, you can hear he has tight joints.
The toe can move up and down and left and right because of the transformation.
As for his doors, you can leave them like this or you can bring them completely back.
You cannot put them anywhere else.
The only drawback of the figure is that these panels here
don't tab securely so if you accidentally grab him from here they will be pushed inwards.
Other than that, I didn't find any other drawback on the figure.
Also, he can hold his gun perfectly. Securely, without dropping it.
Let's see a size comparison now.
- And here we have Jazz next to Masterpiece Ironhide and next to Masterpiece Optimus Prime.
As you understand, Jazz is a Masterpiece scaled figure.
- Something that I forgot to mention is that there is a storage place for the gun. Not the most secure way...
You can lift this piece up and you can use the magnet to hold it!
Though, it doesn't hold it securely. But ok, it's an extra feature.
So let's transform Jazz back into his vehicle mode. First, we will close the fists.
Rotate them 180 degrees and compress them inwards.
Now the legs. Close this piece. Close the heel as well.
Rotate the toe. Open this panel. Close this piece and move it to the side.
Rotate the waist 180 degrees. Don't forget it. :P
Bend the leg like this. Open this piece to bring this bit out.
Close it like this to form the back section of the car. Bring out the window and put it in its place.
Fold the leg. But before we put it down bring this panel up.
Close this piece. And this bit will come down. Do the same thing to the other side as well.
Connect the legs. Connect the spoiler as well.
Lift the head up. Close this piece inwards.
Lift the backpack up, bring this bit out so we won't forget it.
Bring the front section of the car up. Bring this bit down. Close these panels.
Bring Jazz's head down and it will be stored in here. Bring the windows up.
Bring the arms down using the double-joint. Like this.
Bring this bit inwards. And the arms will sit like this.
Also, there is a slot here, a peg over here, they will tab together.
Do the same thing to the other side as well.
Bring this piece down. Close these bits as well.
Disconnect this piece from here. It will tab in these holes here.
Bring these weapons in here. Close the doors. Bring the wheels inwards, like this.
Squeeze everything gently to ensure everything is in its place.
You can place the gun on him if you want. And Jazz is back into his vehicle mode.
- Final thoughts... Jazz is a very beautiful figure.
A version of Jazz that is based on the Generations version and not on the G1 cartoon.
Very good figure, very nice articulation, good plastic quality, a little bit complicated transformation.
I liked him. Very nice! That's all from me, Stefanos?
- Excellent figure. The reason I chose this version is because I don't like the vehicle on the G1 version, it sucks (for me).
The robot mode is very nice. Very nice colour, especially this white-pearly colour.
Very good articulation, his details are very nice. He is worth the money! If you like him, buy him!
