I'm Linda Baker and I've been giving to Orphan's Promise for 12 years

I started giving to Orphan's Promise because of CBN. I just knew that the

integrity was there. I didn't have to worry about where the money was going. I

knew that it would be used correctly and ....because you're taking care of kids you

can talk to anybody. And when you start talking about kids people listen. I got

to tell a story: we were in the Philippines and one of the ladies there,

she's a doctor, and we were in a group in a little store and we were finding

souvenirs and stuff. The lady at the counter was standing there and she was

very pregnant and there was a small child down on the floor and she kept

peeping up and looking at us. This little girl looked like a stick person. Her

little arms and her little legs, she was five years old, she was so gaunt and just

she looked like that, so I asked Dr. Kim I said, "what is wrong with this

child?" And she spoke to the mother and the mother told her that the child had a

hole in her heart and would die without an operation. And I said how much is it?

How much is it to fix? And Dr. Kim told us....we were able to give that child

surgery, and that child lives today and she's involved in Bible study and she's

probably eight or ten now... just knowing that we helped that one child that would

probably be dead if we hadn't been there. So being on a trip is very impactful, not

just for us, but for the people we meet. We're grandparents raising our

grandchildren, and as parent... I know that I'm instilling something in those

children that they're going to be able to talk to children just like when we

took Preston to Kenya and he could minister to those children that were

orphans because he himself is an orphan. And so I know that we're building

destiny into those children and I know that that's what they're gonna do.

They're gonna invest in children as they grow up. I'm excited about that and they

want to help the children of the world. I mean every night they pray for the children

of the world, the orphans of the world, every night. It's important to look

beyond yourself and know that there is a legacy. You're going to leave one, one way

or the other and why not leave it blessing children around the world?

And you know, thankfully one day when we're in heaven we're gonna meet some of

these children and they're gonna come up and they're gonna say, "Thanks! You cared!"

Look, 90% of your money is going to go towards whatever project there is,

whatever's needed, and you know that for sure! Why would you give to

any other organization?
