let me start with an origin story

At U Chicago there's this tradition where in the dead of winter all the

students would get up before the Sun rises and we would essentially do yoga

and Sun Salutations together for an hour to welcome the sunrise this tradition

was called Kuviasungnerk/Kangeiko so Kuviasungnerk means happiness

Kangeiko means winter training and this tradition is really when Richard and

Cheramie first started really hanging out and it was also always kind of

surprising for us as you all know Richard loves getting up early but hates

these kinds of events and Cheramie on the other hand she loves these kinds of

events but hates getting up early so somehow we got both of them to go and

here we are today

welcome family and friends to the union of Richard and Cheramie

Cheramie told me

she was going to bed early so that she could watch the sunrise confused

I asked why are you watching the sunrise and Cheramie explained that Richard

suggested that it would be fun to do

I can't believe we're finally here it

seems like it was only yesterday that we were running by Lake Michigan in the

mists of Chicago winters at one morning and I refused to hold your hands

Cheramie looking back to the day we met it should have been obvious we would stand here

today we voluntarily got up before sunrise in the dead of winter to run in

the icy Chicago morning that's pretty unlike us we kept doing

this just the two of us by the lake watching the Sun rise as well this was

because you were smitten by me even if you did not know it at the time and that's

why you didn't hold my hand but I knew the last few years with you have been

the happiest of my life

everyday you're the one I can't wait to tell everything to how I'm going to figure out navigation for the

robot I'm building or a funny dream I had because I feel like when I share my

life with you it takes on new meaning this is how I know you are my best

friend the person I want to walk the rest of my life with because I couldn't

imagine a life richer with me than one by your side

you make me so happy all

the time so I promise to be there in the good times and the bad and I promise to
