Waching daily Mar 3 2018

Hi everybody, my name is Amanda Esparza

I am a Registered Nurse, and I graduated back in 2010, so I have a few years of nursing experience behind me. Today I wanted to talk to you about

Heart disease, and well not specifically heart disease, but some resources you can reference for getting care related to heart disease. I know a lot of you are

between the ages of 40 and 65, a lot of you can relate to me just because we are both Hispanic, we are both from the same area

I currently work at Foundation and its pretty close to your area. The George Dieter/ Pellicano area, east side of El Paso

So the following things I am going to be addressing with you are basically some resources that are available to you

to treat you and places that can treat you for the illness that you currently have and as I mentioned the big one is heart disease.

So I just wanna start of by presenting a little flyer that I made for everybody. So this flyer is right here, it says healthcare clinics, and there are 2, this is one up here and this is one down here

and so the healthcare clinics that I will be talking about are Project Vida and San Vicente health clinic.

So project vida has several things they offer for patients and I am going to briefly go over those and go over how they would care for patients with heart disease as well

At Project Vida their mission is basically to identify the vision for the community and its future and develop community based structures and programs that the community may need and can utilize

They usually treat the underserved and uninsured population so that's a really good thing about that place.

They are located on Greg street, 14900 Greg Dr. #B and that's in the 79938 area of El Paso

that's far east and some of the things that they offer are primary care, women's health, pediatrics, they even offer psychiatry, and for you all they would offer nutritional classes and yoga classes

so as far as primary care, I have had the pleasure of speaking with the Nurse Practitioner Magdalena there, she's very well informed and well educated

and a very nice lady

as far as primary care, they do see a lot of patients as I mentioned with heart disease, also with diabetes, and we all know that patients with heart disease

most of them anyway, about 70% of Hispanic women with heart disease are also over weight and a lot of that has to do with their diet

as I mentioned before they do offer classes and the classes are awesome, I had the pleasure of seeing the kitchen area where they prep the food and cook. It's a pretty nice area

I also had the pleasure of meeting one of the I believe she calls herself "promotora" which is like a promoter of health and fitness. So she also teaches Yoga classes, so that's pretty sweet that she does that

So the other clinic as I mentioned was San Vicente. San Vicente is a little bit closer to your area that is located in the 79915 area

pretty much the lower valley and east side of El Paso. That location also offers Primary care, women's health, pediatrics, they have a pharmacy, so it makes it a lot easier

for patients to be able to get their medications in a more timely manner and really not having any issues with having to go back and forth and clarify orders or anything between providers

They do administer anti hypertensive medication, cholesterol lowering medications, things like that as well

they also actually have an x-ray department, not really radiology because they don't have any other things like MRI or CT or anything like that, but basic x-ray

they also have dental and they also have nutritional classes, now for both these places the nutritional classes are offered for family just because they like to incorporate the whole family dynamics into the teaching

which is really important. Why should people in my population access these resources and what are the strengths of these resources? So as I mentioned before the strengths are

that they basically cater to low income families, of course if you have insurance that's even better anyone would love to have insurance, but if you don't

they do go based off of income, so it's very affordable, it's not that expensive, so that's a very very big bonus.

Pretty much everyone that works there, they do it because they love it, they don't get paid a million bucks or anything to be their

they do this because they actually genuinely love their job. So the environment is a great feel over all

and the providers are awesome

Who would the people need to contact?

so who would you all need to contact for the resources? For these resources on this flyer there is a number for Project Vida and down here there is also a number for San Vicente

You can contact that number and they can transfer you to a registrars office and there they're gonna let you know what documents they need and usually it's something like a pay stub or a bill just to make sure your

part of our community and that you can give a small payment, and even if you can't they will work with you if you don't have a job.

As far as access to these resources as I mentioned the closest one to your area would probably be San Vicente just because it is closer, you would need transportation, it is not in walking distance at all by any means

but you could use Sun Metro, the public transportation, you can use an Uber, and I don't think it'll be that expensive to take since it's pretty close

the other location with Project Vida, that one is pretty far from your community and you would not be able to walk, they do also have Sun Metro going to that area

just because it is actually pretty close to a high school, I believe it's Mountain View if I'm not mitaken

I have seen bus stops around that area. They welcome children so they're not real strict about that you can take them, and of course if you work during the day and it may be hard to be there during working hours

I know for a fact that San Vicente is open until 7 in the evening so you can possibly schedule an appointment after work or even walk in to be seen

Project Vida is a little more restricted so they don't have that available and as far as the benefits of actually using the resources

they have so many things that they offer, as I mentioned women's health, it's very important to get your screenings, pediatrics for your children to be seen, psychiatry and Project Vida is the only one that offers psychiatry

Health overall can be a daunting thing and usually things contribute to our health such as depression and anxiety some people turn to food for comfort and it's not all the time that they turn to the healthy food so that can be an issue

and as I mentioned they have Yoga and exercise classes so that can help relieve some of the stress and relieve heart issues.

For those who can see this flyer, you can see these websites on here, they also are very helpful. The websites I left on here are www.heart. org and that's for the American Heart Association and www.cdc.gov and that is also for heart health

and on those 2 sites there are links, English and Spanish pamphlets, brochures and informational things on heart disease, how to prevent it, what to do, questions you may have as far as pathophysiology, or how the disease starts

and any questions you can reference regarding medications or pathophysiology and treatment and management of those heart issues.

But my time has come to an end. Thank you very much for your time, have a good day.

How I make Instagram videos in other languages | Behind the scenes - Duration: 4:19.

Hello!

in this little video

I want to share with you

how do I make my Instagram videos

Oftentimes

I only share the last video that I record

(pronouncing 'record' wrong. Sago instead of saco)

then sometimes ...

(I say perece instead of parece)

OMG I can not talk!

Sometimes it seems like I make perfect videos

and I speak very well

It is very cold here

That's why I drink ginger tea

It helps me prevent and treat cold and flue

but the truth is that Sometimes I have difficulties ...

(pronounce difficulties wrong)

(Difficiltades instead of difficultades)

but the reason why I make those videos is that I want

to improve my spanish

and I have an active learning style.

for example, when I have a

idea my head

I look for the words that I need

and then I make sentences

and I practice phrases again and again

so that it sounds natural

for example when I talk about subjects

that I have never talked about before

I have some problems because

I have to think about the words

and then

I have to think about how I have to make sentences with those words

when I make videos

I already have the words and phrases in my mind

and I can use them directly

It's easier

and I would think it would be interesting to show you

how I make these videos to learn to learn and use new things

[And to show you that there are lots of trials before...]

I'm going to give a little tutorial about ginger tea

look

this is how I started

There are some words that I did not know

for example, ginger

when I hear that word I can guess its meaning

but I didn't know the direct translation of 'ginger'

that's why I looked up the word

there are other words that I did not know for example

to chop

How do you say that?

it's 'picar'

for example, (to) remove the peel

How do you say that?

I can say 'quito la cáscara' or pelar

I have written all the words that I need in my notebook

so that I can use them

okay

Then, I practice the sentences

I'm recording a few times the story with my phone

Hello

here it's very cold. It's not normal

that's why I have ginger tea here

and I want to share with you how you can prepare it

(I said 'como se HAGE' instead of como 'se HACE')

First

we have ginger

We cut this ginger into small pieces

Then

I heat the water

I mix the water with the ginger

It feels like someone is watching me ...

I can not make videos

Hello

here it's very cold it is not normal

Hello

It is very cold here

Oke

(I said 'time' instead of 'cold)

(So I accidentally said 'it has been a while')

It is very cold here

that's why I'm drinking my ginger tea

It is very cold here

that's why I drink ginger tea

It is very cold here

cold

It is very cold here

[After thousands of attempts and laughs]

My tea is cold now

What if Your Favorite Video Game is Bad? - Duration: 5:28.

I'm Caleb and I'm here to help you love video games even more.

Today, we're going to learn that it's okay to take the piss out of your favorite games.

And we're going to do that by talking about Metal Gear Solid, #9 in the Boss Fight Books series,

written by Ashly Burch and Anthony Burch.

I do plan to review all of the Boss Fight Books, so if you like what you see, please be sure to subscribe. There's quite a stack of them back there as you can see.

I like books.

I like video games.

I like mashing them together like potatoes....potatoes against the bottom of a bowl, of course.

I mean, you can't just mash two potatoes together to get mashed potatoes.

That's cumbersome, messy, and questionably effective.

The bowl is necessary.

Otherwise, you're probably just puppeteering a weird, violent potato orgy.

I probably didn't need to say weird there. That's redundant.

The latest potato-on-bowl experience I've had is this, Metal Gear Solid from Boss Fight

Books, written by Ashly Burch and Anthony Burch.

It's funny.

It's insightful.

It's just what you would expect from a book featuring these two personalities.

I stress "you" because surely you are familiar with these two people, but somehow

I was not familiar with Burch and Burch despite them having a very popular YouTube series,

Hey Ash Whatcha Playin'?, and having other impressive writing credits to their names,

including Borderlands 2 and an Emmy award winning episode of Adventure Time.

Ashly Burch is also the voice of Aloy in Horizon Zero Dawn.

They are the perfect pair to write a book like this, a book that takes a game they loved

as children, that they say contributed substantially to the people they are today, and tear it

apart.

What I learned reading this book is that Metal Gear Solid doesn't really hold up as a game

experience.

The authors use their own personal histories and current career roles in video games to

add to the larger conversation of Metal Gear Solid, and to the even larger conversation

of representation in video games and to the even more larger conversation of just how

weird is Hideo Kojima, really?

All signs point to very.

A running joke in the book is pointing out ways Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima

is crazy and seemingly has no filter when it comes to what he wants his game to do.

For example, the authors explore the game mechanic that lets enemy soldiers track protagonist

Solid Snake in the snow, a mechanic that seems innocuous until you realize that it's only

used once and at the very beginning of the game before the player really even understands

how to play the game.

That's hours and hours of development time to for a single use, albeit cool, feature.

Not weird enough for you?

Kojima also includes assworship as a gameplay mechanic.

See also hiding in boxes.

For those with a nostalgic connection to the game, the book forces a hard-look retrospection.

What you may remember as a brilliantly sophisticated game that invented the stealth mechanics we

know and sometimes love today, may still be that, but decimated are the adjective tagalongs

implied by such a description.

Perfect game?

No. No. Not at all.

Serious game?

Not really.

Beautiful game?

Perhaps in the way we all thought polygons were beautiful before we had full CG capabilities.

Important game?

Yes, still very much so.

What makes this book really work--if I didn't say it enough already--are the personalities

of the authors.

Siblings Ashly Burch and Anthony Burch take the straight-man and banana man format they've

developed over the years in their Hey, Ash Whatcha Playin'?

YouTube series and convert that quite well to the long-form paper medium.

And they understand the demands of the book format and realize that simply carrying on

the Double Act comic format of their video series would get quite boring for 200 pages.

So, they wisely show off their critical thinking skills while reserving most of the funny stuff

asides for the footnotes.

And if you like footnote humor, I highly recommend Robert Hamburger's Real Ultimate Power:

The Official Ninja Book. It's surprisingly very, very good. Not just funny. It's actually a good book.

Though Burch and Burch pull no punches when criticising Metal Gear Solid, they truly love

the game and credit it for parts of their professional success.

It's good to know that it's okay to recognize when what you love might be flawed and that

even if what you love is a sexist, racist, and overall absurd video game, it doesn't

mean you are sexist, racist, absurd, or a video game.

And as long as we gamers can keep that in mind when challenging a person's affinity

for a video game that we may not like, we'd all be better people.

Basically, don't be a jerk to fellow gamers, okay.

Because the games you love are probably garbage, too.

Please like, subscribe, and click the bell icon to make sure you don't miss future videos.

I do plan to review all of the Boss Fight Books, so subscribing and clicking the bell

icon will ensure you don't miss any of those reviews.

Thank you for watching.
