Hi there! My name is Emily and I'm a native English speaker from British

Columbia, Canada. I am also a community tutor that teaches English on italki.

My specializations are basic medical English, and academic English. I have been

a language learner since I was very young, and I know firsthand the

frustrations of trying to communicate in another person's language. Native

speakers speak really quickly, and the experience can sometimes be overwhelming,

especially since they use a lot of words that you may not have ever heard before.

I hope to not only help you gain confidence in speaking English, but also

to help you find your own unique voice. I have a bachelor's degree in linguistics,

and two years of experience as a volunteer English tutor with my

university. I can help you with pronunciation,

grammar, vocabulary, writing, and conversational fluency. If you decide to

have a lesson with me, you can choose how formal it is! We can use books, movies,

conversation, or, if you would like, a more traditional classroom approach. If this

sounds interesting, and you would like to learn English with me, feel free to book

Soy una hablante nativa de inglés, y soy de Columbia Británica, Canadá.

También soy una tutora de inglés en italki. Especializo en

el inglés médico básico y académico. He sido una aprendiente de idiomas desde niñita,

y conozco las frustraciones de tratar de comunicarse en otro idioma.

La idea de hablar con hablantes nativos puede ponerse a uno nervioso o nerviosa, porque hablan

rapidísimo y usan palabras que tal vez no ha oído. Espero ayudarle en encontrar

confianza en inglés, y también en encontrar su voz única en inglés.

Tengo una licenciatura en lingüística, y dos años de experiencia en hacer voluntaria

como una tutora de inglés con mi universidad. Puedo ayudarle en la pronunciación,

la gramática avanzada, la escritura, el vocabulario, y la fluencia.

Durante una lección conmigo, usted escogería el nivel de formalidad. Podemos

utilizar películas, libros, conversación,

o, si quiere, el método tradicional de clases de idiomas. Si tiene usted libros de inglés que quería usar,
