Top 5 Best Indie Games You Might Have Missed - May 2017 - Duration: 7:30.

hi there welcome to get indie gaming

today we're looking at five indie games

for May that might have passed you by

when they first came to market

we've got platformer puzzlers a dreamy

fairytale adventure something that only

comes in monochrome and more besides

with all that said let's go straight

into this month's top five

any puzzle platformer fans out there

would be well-served checking out

Superman which makes up this month's

number 5 launched towards the end of

March our protagonist is a cumbersome

looking sumo wrestler who's returned

from a tournament to his home island to

find his fellow Islanders have been

enchanted to an eternal sleep quite

naturally our hero has taken it upon

himself to find the source of the spell

and to awaken his sleeping friend with

gorgeous audio and visuals alongside a

broad and varied range of physical

puzzles the game central character is

most unlike those usually found in these

types of titles some reviewers have

commented on how clumsy and awkward it

feels in controlling our sumo hero but

that's missing one of the unique points

here as the saying goes many sumo

wrestlers cannot turn on a 9 pencil dime

so it only feels right and justified to

have that type of element of awkwardness

applied to the game

Superman is lots of fun to play alone

and a split-screen mode is a welcome

addition to play with a buddy this one's

a little unexpected gem and well worth

picking up on the PC

you

with pavilion we have an isometric

exploratory experience about guidance

influence and subliminal control looking

somewhat Monument Valley it takes a

similar a shellac approach to isometric

level and art design with staircases

bridges and moveable platforms are

plenty on the gameplay side of things

pavilion is about encouraging a

character to move through the world by

interacting with it by pushing and

pulling them across the screen if you

manipulate them correctly you can get

them to open up passageways find objects

or have them step on pressure plates to

aid their advancement essentially we

have a lock and key type of game where

each progression produces a new door to

puzzle your way through truthfully

speaking the puzzles featured within

pavilion are not overly complex so

diehard fans of the genre while they may

feel somewhat disappointed however from

a personal perspective

I've enjoyed coming back to the game

since its launch date last year and feel

a connection with its art stylings and

audio with the second part DLC coming

out sometime this year

this one's available for the PC and

PlayStation 4 only recently released and

one I missed prior to recording my top

indie games for May ovo offers a puzzle

platformer that's as much interactive

art as it is a game while modest looking

with a black and white color palette the

creative imagery is far from simple

it focuses on images and symbols without

much in the way of traditional text

neither does it really explain or show

how the player should play or interpret

what's going on

this is pushes you to experiment which

in turn unlocks more of the game's story

and play zones overall I found the

game's design and soundtrack are mildly

calming experience sure the difficulty

ratchet up towards the end although not

to the point past frustration where I

wanted to walk away duration wise it's

on the money it's long enough at about

two and a bit hours to feel worthwhile

while not spilling over to the point

where things felt labored while it may

look and at times play simple there's a

vast depth to it that's given me a

genuinely positive experience now

knowing the design gameplay quirks and

level intricacies with too much

detailing on this

here being difficult due to spoilers

this one has out-and-out replayability

and I'll be coming back to again and

again out there for iOS Euclidean lands

takes the runner-up slot for May and

features a tiny spear welding warrior

that's placed on top of floating subtly

colored 3d levels its roots are in board

games and puzzlers which makes for an

intuitive experience from the start like

in hitman go the warrior can move one

space at a time what makes the game

however unique is how you control the

world just like a Rubik's Cube you twist

and turn rows of blocks with your

fingertips

it's a turn-based offering and while the

levels begins simply enough they morph

towards the later stages into large and

complex structures that require acute

observations to solve finding a way to

the exit can be challenging enough but

throw in enemies that attack you an even

boss battles where they can also rotate

the world around you could see players

easily overwhelmed the key here is to

slow down to contemplate follow the

patterns and when ready

make your move with 40 levels spread

across five chapters there's several

hours of gameplay and plenty of things

to see and do it's definitely the kind

of puzzler you want to take your time

over this one's exceptionally well judge

and well worthy of your time to explore

this month's number one from the

husband-and-wife team at brain and brain

burly men at sea came out for the pc and

mobile back in late September of last

year it's best described as an

interactive fairy tale with an art style

that puts you in mind of a children's

picture book the game's branching

storylines are based on various

Scandinavian mythologies and it's the

way these storylines develop and the way

you interact with them that makes burly

man at sea a real treat each playthrough

consists of four encounters the first

always being the same the bearded

adventurers find themselves in a spot of

bother from their players are able to

perform a number of different

interactions that set you off on a

variety of journeys along the way the

three encounter such things as huge

whales live

Mountains mermaids and even a slightly

more Koosh death himself the writing

here however is the real winner it's

uplifting pointed charming and at times

extremely funny also the method of

control in the game via only the mouse

has you solving puzzles via clicking

dragging and holding which is intuitive

relaxing and a perfect fit for the

gameplay throw in some clever vocal

audio touches with a sublime and melodic

soundtrack the pastel colors gorgeous

but simple visuals and adorable

narrative burly men at sea is a

wonderful adventure that will stay with

me for a long time to come

and so with burly men at sea taking this

month's number one slot for games that

you might have missed first time around

that's pretty much all we've got time

about top-secret governmental programs, institutions, ETs and UFOs.

On July 2, 1989, the former Navy member revealed highly classified material about a secret

agency known as MAJIC 12, or MJ-12, while at a conference in Las Vegas Nevada.

His source for the information was an ONI (Office of Naval Intelligence) counter intelligence

operation unwinded by the Navy in order to discover what was going on behind their backs.

At that time, the Navy felt like it didn�t receive a fair cut of the overall share, so

they decided to take matters into their own hands and act accordingly.

The matter at stake was the newly acquired alien technology resulted from reverse-engineering

�toys� held by certain governmental institutions in their secret locker room.

Before making available the information he had about the CIA, NSA, MJ-12 secret organization,

US presidents, captured extraterrestrials, UFOs, as well as weapons of mass destruction,

Cooper swore a solemn oath.

I, Milton William Cooper, do solemnly swear that the information contained in this file

is true and correct to the best of my knowledge.

I swear that I saw this information in 1972 in the performance of my duties as a member

of intelligence briefing team of the Commander in Chief of the Pacific Fleet as a petty officer

in the US Navy.

I swear that I underwent hypnotic regression in order to make the information as accurate

as possible.

History will be the judge of me and this information and I have no fear of that judgement.

I swear that this information is true and correct to the best of my knowledge.�

Milton Cooper�s Testimonial:

� Project GRUDGE � Comprises 16 volumes of documented information gathered from the

beginning of the United States� investigation of UFOs and IAC � Identified Alien Crafts.

The project was fueled by the CIA�s confidential funds obtained through the illicit drug trade.

The goal of project GRUDGE was to compile all scientific, technological, medical and

intelligent information from various UFO and IAC sightings, plus the added bonus of alien

life forms that were sometimes discovered inside.

This luxuriant data collection has been utilized to advance the United States Space Program.

� The Jason Society was a secret elitist group authorized by Former President Eisenhower

in order to dig through all the facts, evidence, technology, lies and deception and discover

the true facet of the alien reality.

The society was comprised of 32 of the most conspicuous men in the USA at that time.

The leadership of this organization was as it follows: Director of Central Intelligence,

Allen Welsh Dulles, Dr. Zbigniew Brzezinski, President of the Trilateral Commission from

1973 until 1976, and Dr. Henry Kissinger, coordinator of the scientific personnel.

The top 12 members were designated head of the MJ-12 control group that operated inside

the Jason Society and had absolute control over affairs.

� MJ-12 assassinated President Kennedy when he threatened them that he will make the public

aware of the alien and UFO reality.

He was murdered by a secret service agent who was driving his car and this is clearly

visible in the film withheld from public view.

The secret elites behind MJ-12 and the Jason Society had a secret facility in Maryland

described as only accessible by air.

It was known as �The Country Club� and contained full living, recreational and various

other compartments designed for undisturbed team buildings.

� AQUARIUS � a project containing the known history of extraterrestrials on Earth,

as well as their interaction with Homo sapiens for the last 25,000 years and culminating

with the Basque people who live in the mountainous country on the border of France and Spain

and the Syrians.

� POUNCE � was a project designed to recover all downed or crashed spacecraft and their

load, including alien beings.

� REDLIGHT � a project aimed at flying recovered alien crafts.

It was conducted at AREA 51 in Nevada.

It received a boost when aliens gave us �saucers� and helped us fly them.

The initial project was somehow successful in that we flew a recovered craft but it blew

up in the air and the pilots were killed.

The project was suspended at that time until the aliens agreed to help us.

� LUNA � is the alien base on the dark side of the Moon.

It was seen and filmed by the Apollo Astronauts.

A base, a mining operation with massive machines and a very large spacecraft described in sighting

reports as a �Mothership� exist there.

� EXCALIBUR � a weapon used to destroy alien underground facilities.

It is a missile capable of penetrating 3,000+ feet of hard packed soil such as that found

in New Mexico with no operational damage.

� ALIENS � there were 4 types of ETs described in the papers:

1.

The LARGE NOSED GREY with whom our species has a treaty.

2.

The GREY reported in abductee cases that work for the Large Nosed Grey.

3.

The blonde humanoids described as the NORDIC.

4.

The red-haired humanoids called the ORANGE.

� EBE (Extraterrestrial Biological Entity) � is the name given to the alien held hostage

after the 1947 Roswell crash.

It had later died in captivity.

� KRLL or KRLLL � was the hostage left with us at the first Holloman landing as a

pledge that aliens would carry out their part of the basic agreement reached during the

meeting.

KRLL became sick and was nursed by Dr. G. Mendoza who became the expert in alien biology

and medicine.

KRLL later died.

� RELIGION � Extraterrestrials claim to have made Homo Sapiens through hybridization.

The papers said that RH negative blood was proof of this.

They further claimed to have designed all of our major religions.

They displayed a hologram of the crucifixion of Christ which the Government filmed.

They claimed that Jesus was created by them.

� ALIEN BASES � exist in the four corners area of Utah, Colorado, Nevada and New Mexico.

Six bases were depicted in the 1972 papers, all of them found on native reservations and

all in the four corners area.

� CRAFT RECOVERIES � The documents stated that many craft had been recovered.

The early ones from Roswell, Texas, Mexico and other places.

� ABDUCTIONS � were happening long before 1972.

The document read that humans and animals were being abducted and/or mutilated.

Many disappeared without trace.

They were collecting sperm and oval samples, tissue, performed surgical procedures, implanted

a spherical device 40 to 80 microns in size near the optic nerve in the brain and all

attempts to remove it resulted in the death of the patient.

The document estimated that 1 in every 40 people had been implanted.

The implant was said to give the aliens total control of the unaware humans.

William Cooper wasn�t exactly a forerunner of whistleblowers.

In fact, many other military and governmental personnel had been terminated before their

attempt to divulge this concealed reality.

Cooper was lucky enough to live and tell the tale, at least for a while, but he was eventually

killed on November 5, 2001, inside his house in Arizona by the Apache County Sherrif Department.

Being a whistleblower today is still no easy job, but at least learning from the past mistakes

of those brave forerunners can make a difference of life and death.

The road has been paved to make way for novel and controversial insight into the secret

world of the elites.

Whatever we�re going to discover in the upcoming future, we can only guess, but the

possibilities seem without boarders.

Photoshop Tutorial Grunge Portrait Effect - Duration: 10:02.

Lets get started.

We need to cut out the model. I will use the Quick Selection Tool.

Select the entire model.

Hold ALT to subtract from selection.

When you're done > Head up to Select and Mask.

Select the Refine Edge Brush Tool.

Only brush over the model's hair.

Output to: New Layer With Layer Mask.

Then hit OK.

Create a new adjustment layer > Solid Color.

Make sure the color is set to white > Then OK.

Position the color fill layer below the model layer.

Lets rename the top layer to COLOR.

Duplicate the model layer > CTRL + J.

Hide the bottom layer (Color)

Right click on the top layer mask > Apply Layer Mask.

I'm going to rename this layer to Black & White.

Head up to Image > Adjustments > Desaturate.

Duplicate the Black & White layer > CTRL + J.

I'm going to rename this layer to MODEL.

Right Click > Convert to Smart Object.

Head up to Image > Adjustments > Levels.

We want to increase the Shadows and Midtones.

Shadow input: 90 | Midtone Input: 0.90

Then hit OK.

Head up to Filter > Filter Gallery.

Click on the Artistic Tab.

Then Dry Brush.

Brush size 5 | Brush Detail 3 | Texture 2

Then hit OK.

Head down and create a new Group.

Bring the new group below the model layer.

I'm going to rename this group to Grunge Brushes.

Head down and create a new layer.

Drag the new layer into the group.

Lets download the Grunge Brushes.

Open up your internet browser.

I'm going to use brushes from Brusheezy.com

Search: Grunge Brushes

There's many great brushes to choose from.

I found this one works great for the effect I'm going for.

Click on Free Download.

Click on your downloaded file to open.

Double click on the abr. brush file.

Now the brush pack is loaded into Photoshop.

Lets rename our blank layer to Face.

Hold ALT + click between the model and group layer to create a clipping mask.

Hide the Black & White layer.

Select the Brush Tool. (B)

Now, lets select a grunge brush.

I will choose this one for now.

Make sure your foreground is set to black.

Start adding the effect.

Open up the Brush Panel.

Here we can rotate the brush, so it doesn't give a pattern effect.

Continue adding the effect to the face.

I'm going to select another brush.

Continue adding the effect.

Be sure to rotate the brush frequently.

I'm going to create a new layer.

I'm going to rename this new layer to hair.

Lets select another brush and continue adding.

Use your bracket keys to resize the brush.

[ decrease brush size. ] increase brush size.

[ decrease brush size. ] increase brush size.

Lets create a new layer > Rename it to Neck.

Select another brush.

I will use this one.

I want to rotate it to match her neck area.

That looks pretty good.

Close the brush panel.

Select the top Model layer.

Head down and select Mask.

Select a brush with soft edges to blend the model in better.

Bring down the brush opacity to about 40%.

I want to blend in the model better. I will start off by masking hair areas.

This will give a nice final blend.

Close the Group layer.

Then select it.

Head down to FX at the bottom.

Select Blending Options.

Click on Bevel & Emboss.

Style: Pillow Emboss.

Technique: Smooth.

Depth: 30%.

Size: 1 PX.

Then hit OK.

This will make the effect stand out a bit more.

Select the top Model layer.

CTRL + SHIFT + ALT + E - Merge all visible layers.

I'm going to rename this layer to Merged.

Right click > Covert to Smart Object.

Head up to Filter > Camera Raw Filter.

I'm going to adjust the blacks on the image.

Blacks + 25.

Select the Detail tab.

I want to sharpen up the image a tad.

Sharpening Amount: 50.

Then head down and hit OK.

Create a new adjustment layer > Gradient Map.

Select a nice gradient map (Optional)

Hit OK when you're done.

Change the Blending Mode to Color.

Bring down the opacity if it's too overwhelming.

So in honor of our new Cirque du Soleil show

that will be taking place on the MSC cruises starting this summer,

today's theme will have an aquatic flavor.

You will have to bring to life

a sea creature.

Let's meet our makeup artists.

Here to compete are Maryse Gosselin

and Julie Gemme.

You will have 60 minutes to complete your challenge

using the makeup and accessories at hand.

Ready or not,

let's dive in.

Although it is not uncommon to see an ocean theme in a makeup design,

it can be challenging to achieve an entire look.

Not only will our makeup artists need to be creative on a makeup level,

they will have to extend their artistic skills

to include hairstyle and body,

all that in only 60 minutes.

Now with those basics out of the way, here's what you need to know about EJ Johnson.

Fame of the father

Growing up as the son of an NBA legend made EJ a natural in front of the camera.

He told Out Magazine in 2014, "Obviously, my family's always been in the spotlight.

I've always loved being in front of people, being on stage and performing.

I love the attention.

I love everything about it."

EJ is the only biological child of Magic and wife Earlitha "Cookie" Johnson, who adopted

a daughter name Elisa in 1995.

EJ is named after his father — the initials are short for Earvin Johnson III — and has

an older half-brother named Andre as well.

Forced to come out

In 2013, EJ Johnson came out publicly as gay after TMZ posted a video of him holding hands

with his best friend, Alessandro Monetti, whom the site claimed at the time was actually

his boyfriend.

Despite the aggressive outing by the tabloids, EJ took the experience in stride, saying,

"I always wanted to come into the spotlight.

I always had dreams and plans of doing my own thing and creating my own image, so it

came a little sooner than I thought it would but this is still something I knew I would

be going through and would have to experience."

For their part, EJ's family was very supportive of him during that time.

When TMZ's story broke, Magic issued a statement to the tabloid site, saying, "Cookie and I

love EJ and support him in every way.

We're very proud of him."

EJ later credited his parents with making the coming out process easy for him, saying,

"I am very, very, very blessed to have the family that I do.

My parents have always been super supportive.

My sister and I have always been really close and she's been really supportive as with my

brother.

When it was time to come out, I was, obviously, scared as most people are.

After I got all the love and support from my family then I knew I could go out and conquer

the world, I guess."

It helped, of course, that the revelation wasn't exactly news to his parents at the

time.

He'd already come out to his mother as a teenager before revealing the news to his father a

year later.

"I had to stop wanting him to be who I wanted him to be and just let him be himself."

Making a name

Almost instantly after TMZ published their video, Johnson became a viral sensation.

Headlines across the web touted his outing, but instead of shrinking away from the attention,

Johnson stepped eagerly into the spotlight and took full advantage of his newfound fame.

After a successful first season on Rich Kids of Beverly Hills, Johnson parlayed his breakout

status into not only a renewed contract for the second season, but also an overall deal

with E! that included stints on two of the networks other properties.

After completing four seasons on Rich Kids as well as proving himself elsewhere on the

network, E! gave Johnson his own spinoff show, called EJNYC.

Originally titled EJ and the City, the show follows Johnson, his little sister, Elisa,

and their high-class crew as they live the fabulous life others can only dream of.

Slimming down

Johnson — who once weighed about 360 pounds — underwent gastric sleeve surgery in early

2015.

He revealed on the season finale of Rich Kids of Beverly Hills that he's lost about 180

pounds since the procedure, saying, "The surgery was definitely the best thing that ever happened

to me.

I never thought that I'd look this good, and that is the God's honest truth."

Johnson went on to tell Page Six of the weight loss:

"It's a totally new mindset.

I'm completely dedicated to living a new, healthy lifestyle."

Johnson also discussed his new diet regimen.

"I really think it's important that you not listen to so many fads; you really need to

find what works for you.

But that doesn't mean you're done after that because you don't like what's hot.

You need to get creative."

Considering a transition

In 2015, EJ admitted to a therapist that he considered transitioning into a woman after

Caitlyn Jenner made her world debut on the cover of Vanity Fair.

He said, "I've always been very fashion-forward.

I've always definitely mixed men's and women's fashion in my life, but I never thought that

it would raise so many questions about my own gender.

I never really thought it was under investigation.

Sometimes it's hard being in the middle, kind of in the gray area in my own lane.

Now, since everybody's talking about Caitlyn Jenner and being transgender, people are so

quick to say, 'Oh, just because you're dressing like that means that you're going to transition

to become a woman.'"

Ultimately, he decided against transitioning because he didn't feel the need.

"I thought about it, for sure.

I was just like, 'Well, do I want to transition?

Is this something that I would do?'

But I don't feel incomplete in that way.

I don't feel the need."

Becoming a role model

Johnson is all about fashion and bling.

But he's also aware that, as a public figure who is a member of two minority groups, there's

a certain social responsibility that comes with his status.

When talking about his role as the Celebrity Grand Marshall of the San Francisco Gay Pride

Parade, Johnson said,

"Whether it's the African-American community, or in my case, the gay community, it's important

to make sure that we represent those communities in a positive way."

And he recognizes how lucky he his to be able to live freely, saying, "I'm fortunate that

I'm in a world where I can do what I want to do and walk down the street in whatever

I want to wear and break those walls down."

To help others who might not be as fortunate or surrounded by a strong support system,

Johnson offered some advice to other LGBT kids.

He told BET, "I say dance around in your closet when no one is looking until the time is right.

Try your hardest to work towards getting to a place within yourself or the country where

you can go and express yourself and come back and tell your story.

"That's something my dad always told me: Make sure you check your surroundings and be you,

do you, but make sure you're not putting yourself in dangerous situations where you could get

hurt."

That's some solid wisdom that proves it's not all tiaras and bling with EJ Johnson.

Just...mostly.

"I always get my way from mom."

"Yeah, I guess I'm a daddy's girl, and he's a mommy's...girl."

obstructed justice in the ongoing investigation of alleged ties between his Presidential campaign

and Russia.

What is impeachment?

It�s where the House of Representatives brings charges of misconduct against a President.

That�s it�they allege he did something wrong.

It�s up to the Senate, by a 2/3 vote, to convict him of said allegations.

That�s hard to achieve, ya�ll.

We all know the Democrats have gotten fully engulfed in the media blood frenzy against

Trump.

They start salivating at innuendo and conjecture, just hoping something will stick.

Like this alleged Comey �memo.� Things are moving fast in DC, but, as of this writing,

no one has actually seen it!

Geez!!!

Ask the Vet - What is Cushing's Disease in horses? - Duration: 6:54.

SARAH: "What is Cushing's, and what is it caused by?

What can I do to manage it?"

DR LYDIA GRAY: So you'll help me make sure you

answer each of those questions.

So the first one is--

SARAH: I can keep track of the questions.

I will not be doing the answering.

DR LYDIA GRAY: What is Cushing's?

So the other name for it, the name that your veterinarian

might use is pituitary pars intermedia dysfunction,

or PPID.

So here we go with the acronyms.

And it's a collection of clinical signs

that are associated with an endocrine dysfunction.

So what happens is your pituitary gland--

and there's three parts.

That's why it's narrowed down to the middle part,

pars intermedia--

is under negative inhibition, so it's

being kept in check by another section of the brain called

the hypothalamus.

And the hypothalamus, one of its many jobs

is to send over a signal, a neurotransmitter,

dopamine specifically, to the pituitary and say, "Calm down.

Keep calm and carry on.

Just chill."

And then, everything's fine.

But as age, oxidative stress, happens to horses--

so this is a senior horse disease--

then, the hypothalamus doesn't do as good a job sending over

that signal and the pituitary is unchecked

and it becomes enlarged and overactive, dysfunction.

And so then, it releases some hormones.

ACTH is probably the best known of those.

And then, we have this collection of clinical signs.

And so it might be a long and curly hair coat,

which we call hypertrichosis.

It could be weight loss, specifically muscle loss.

And here, I'm thinking over the top line and the bottom line,

or the underline, the belly.

Increased susceptibility to infections, so

the immune system is dampened.

Laminitis is a problem.

They might urinate more frequently and then drink more.

So it is truly a cluster or collection of clinical signs.

And together, you begin to notice things not quite right

with your horse, even behavior, attitude changes.

And you talk to your veterinarian.

And then, they come out and test.

SARAH: So we've got what is it, what is it caused by.

What can I do to manage it?

DR LYDIA GRAY: So well, I guess we can go on with your vet.

So your veterinarian comes out and diagnoses it.

And this is a pretty simple test now.

Now, it's just an ACTH test.

And it's a one time blood draw.

So it's pretty simple.

It used to be an overnight and fast

and you give something and that's all done.

So once your veterinarian has a number,

there is an FDA-approved medication

for it called Prascend, which the active ingredient is

pergolide.

And so you give that and you retest.

And you look for the clinical signs, the long curly hair

coat.

These horses, they don't shed out in the spring.

That's sort of the classic, what you see.

SARAH: So if these aren't working, might have a problem.

DR LYDIA GRAY: Call your vet.

That's right.

So if the blood work comes back, like in 30 days,

better and the horse begins to shed out,

then you're on the right track.

And if not, then, maybe test the blood again.

And maybe the medication needs changed.

So that's the medication side of it.

There are some supplements, specifically

targeting the muscle loss.

So you can add back in extra amino acids,

lysine, methionine, and threonine

to help build up that top line.

You can add in some antioxidants, because we

know the hypothalamus is not working properly,

because of oxidant-induced injury.

So get those going.

Some omega-3 fatty acids to help balance

the inflammatory and anti-inflammatory side.

And there are some other herbs.

Adaptogens would be great to support the immune system.

Feeding, you don't know what you'll need to feed

or how you'll need to feed, unless your veterinarian does

the test for Cushing's, as well as a second test, the test

for insulin resistance, because you can have Cushing's alone.

And that's pretty manageable.

You just feed to the body condition score

that the horse should be at.

And you feed to their teeth and whatever

issues they might have.

But if they also have insulin resistance diagnosed

with the oral sugar test, then you

need to reduce the sugars and starches.

So it's things like soaking the hay

or having them wear a muzzle or not

feeding early or at least reducing grain and watching

the treats that you give.

So no longer a bag of peppermints

or a bag of carrots.

I know people that do that.

But you don't have to do those things,

unless your horse has insulin resistance as well as the PPID.

SARAH: You talked a couple of times about a word

that I think we're pretty familiar with here

at SmartPak, or a phrase.

But I think some of our fans might be less familiar with.

And it brings me almost back to the same grade

that I was in when I was learning about photosynthesis,

oxidation or oxidative stress.

And so the way that I think most people might be familiar

with it is, if you think of oxidizing,

you might think of rust on metal.

And so, hopefully, unless we're talking about the horse shoes,

a horse shouldn't be experiencing rust.

So what kind of oxidative stress are horses exposed to?

And how does that happen?

DR LYDIA GRAY: So think of normal things like sunlight,

with the ozone layer and all of that

and chemicals and just the environment and life itself.

I mean, exercise induces injury oxidative stress.

And so it's when free radicals are generated

and you need antioxidants in your body to capture them

as they are generated.

So Vitamin E is an excellent antioxidant.

Vitamin C, Vitamin A, there's some other ones.

I like alpha lipoic acid, because it's

both fat and water soluble.

So it can go everywhere and gather up these harmful agents

that are released.

So if you have antioxidants on board through the diet--

selenium is one.

It partners with Vitamin E-- then,

you're in better shape than if your horse is

dealing with this oxidative stress on his own.

SARAH: That all horses are exposed to all the time.

DR LYDIA GRAY: All the time.

Yeah.

So if there's more oxidative stress going on,

then they're going to burn through their normal amount

of antioxidants they have.

And so it helps to have more.

So, we have an A2500.

This is the Slate color.

Sort of a gray.

So the base of these things are meant to, sort of, to, for open kitchens, they're really

nice in back.

For open kitchens, to leave it anywhere.

We actually put our Vitamix on the counter.

Right here where you can't see it's out of, where Shalva's feet are.

And so, you know, if you're standing on the other side of this island thing you could

see the back and you don't really want to, so this is really nice looking from the back

from really any side.

A2500, so this is the classic Vitamix operating system, you could say.

So two switches and the dial.

And the dial, you can really feel it sort of driving the motor, so inside of the box

here.

Three pre-programmed settings so you have smoothie, frozen dessert, and then a hot soup

which is about five or six minutes.

Your start stop button.

And then of course, pulse.

And of course you can operate variable speed as well, so if you're making salsa or something

you want to control, chopping vegetables you know running it on one or two or three speed

using the pulse or just letting it run.

And then full control so ten speeds listed.

The nice thing about the Ascent actually is there's actually more than ten speeds.

There's like 19.

Because it's like one and a half two, two and a half, three.

So really like a full range of speeds are you ramp up the variable speed spectrum.

And those change as you put a different container on top.

The Smart Detect technology.

The machine knows there's a 64 ounce container on there, so the programs are going to adjust.

If you have, for example, the 20-ounce container on here, it will not let you run the soup

setting.

You can't run a soup setting with the 20-ounce container, or the 8-ounce cup which we love

because of the steam and the pressure that builds up.

There's no vents in those little cups.

So it knows.

It's smart.

If you knock it, it's going to sense that the container's off, it stops.

The clear lid you can see through to the top.

So Shalva just said, we've heard feedback, some questions, why the clear lid, why use

the same material that the container is made out of.

It's like a Tritan Copolyester.

Call it what you want, it's a form of plastic, instead of what they used to use which is

a rubber top.

And the reason for this is Vitamix heard feedback that people wanted to see inside the container

while they were blending, to see what was going on.

And they wanted to feel a click.

So now, the lid, actually, when you close it.

[clicks]

It clicks shut.

This is the case with all the Ascent models.

There is no concern to be had with cleaning the new container.

There is a little seal here.

Nothing gets inside of this sort of rubber seal.

It's not any more difficult to clean.

From a usability perspective, seeing in and hearing it click shut so you know it's locked

is a thing that I think a lot of people are really appreciating about the new clear lids

on the Ascent.

What else?

Should you upgrade to an Ascent if you have a Legacy?

Probably not.

Wait it out.

You probably have secondary containers, a 32, a dry grains.

Those don't work on here because those containers don't have the Smart Detect technology.

This machine will not drive those Legacy containers.

The best reason to upgrade to Ascent is if you really want the 8 and 20 ounce container.

The ability to do tiny batches, personal blending on top of your full sized Vitamix.

That is a reason to upgrade to Ascent.

Otherwise, ride it out.

Or hand your Legacy machine down and get an Ascent.

Notice that "со студенткой" here is in the instrumental case, the noun is in the instrumental case.

It means that the participle will be in the instrumental case too.

Look.

Another example:

My brother knows/is acquainted with a family that lives in Germany.

Again "с семьёй", "семья" is here in the instrumental case,

and it means that the participle will be also in the instrumental case.

My brother knows/is acquainted with a family that lives in Germany.

The children who are playing football live next door/in a neighboring house.

The children who are playing football live next door/in a neighboring house.

Or let's come up with a slightly different sentence,

where the noun "дети" will be in the accusative case, for example:

I see children who are playing football.

And with the participle it will sound:

I see children who are playing football.

The woman who is talking with my son works in a kindergarten.

The woman who is talking with my son works in a kindergarten.

Or we can change this sentence slightly:

I am talking with a woman who works in a kindergarten.

I am talking with a woman who works in a kindergarten.

Now with the participle.

and I will do that so you can see that there can be a few participles in one sentence. Look:
